Morning! Working from home again this morning... the flooring guys are here and the granite guy will be coming to measure for counter tops any minute. Definitely not a productive work week for me.
N has dance tonight and hopefully it goes smoothly with no meltdowns.

I picked up my car this morning. It’s not fixed yet. They wanted to do everything I had done last year that would have cost me over $1000. Nope. After talking to my dad, it should just be the coils and changing them out is easy and takes no time. I watched a YouTube video of how to do it and we are doing it ourselves when we get home. I already picked up the coils yesterday.
I just need that to get me through the next six months while I do some research and look for what I’m getting next.

Hi guys. We’re having a rough day over here. I think most of you saw on fb, but for those that didn’t
<trigger warning pet loss>
Our sweet, 13 year old, escape artist beagle Stella got out yesterday and was hit by a car. The car didn’t stop but a group of teenagers and a woman crowded around her and comforted her and gave her water and got in touch with me. She passed surrounded by strangers loving on her, which was pretty much her happy place, so that gives me some comfort. We buried her in the yard and will make her a memorial rock that will go with Charlie’s. We are absolutely heartbroken and I feel numb.

everyone I know was trying to get the Aldi wine advent calendar. Well Aldi is barely getting any in stock. My store got 14, my friends only 7. Why even bother sending to all stores, just send more to a few. I think my friends and I will get together and make a DIY one where we all bring 2 mini-bottles of something. Cheaper than ALdi $70 one.

xolastunicornxo I'm so sorry. I'm glad Stella wasn't alone when she passed. How are the kids handling it?

Thanks for the birthday wishes for H! We spent the morning doing his ECI evaluation. Thankfully he qualified and they're suggesting 3 sessions a month. It's not speech therapy, it's developmental therapy though. So they're trying to get him up to 20 words and then they'll have a speech therapist evaluate him for pronunciation, etc. Right now, they have him at 3 words. Phew, I'm glad that's over with now.

The runner is freaking out over the election results. Like, he said he's so depressed he's going to start binge eating, which is his coping mechanism. I feel he overshares... Everyone in my office is now concerned about their jobs. My next several months will be kissing ass to the newly elected officials to try and keep our contracts. My new attorney text me this morning asking if I was worried about my job like he was about his. You're the attorney, you'll be fine. It's the rest of us that need to be concerned...

X had his second sinus infection in three weeks, so we’ll be back at the pedi for Rocephin the next three days. Yippee.
Pete has work meetings and his boss said she wants to adjust his salary up another $10,000, but needs to hear back from their compensation committee about approving that. So fingers crossed they’re amenable to it.

xolastunicornxo, I'm so sorry tgrimes what is the difference in therapies? What will developmental therapy cover? I'm still personally on the fence of pushing for an evaluation for B. His speech has improved a lot, but IMO he is still not where he should be. If I'm completely honest, I'm not sure if he's where he should be in other areas too. His pedi has sort of brushed me off, but I still feel sort of like he might need...I dunno, something though.

Ds had his party today, he had a blast. It was such a cute little group and despite the could weather they kids loved being outdoors and to play with the water course. Some of the parents and little brothers and sisters stayed to, it was nice chatting with them . My first kid friends birthday party, another milestone, they’re getting so big!

His pedi has sort of brushed me off, but I still feel sort of like he might need...I dunno, something though. From what they said, it will be things like giving him options. Do you want the red cup or the blue cup? But you put both of the cups up closer to your mouth so he can see your mouth move and how you say each word. The object is to get him to say which color of cup he wants but even if he just points & grunts to the red one, you hand it to him while saying red cup at the same time. That was just one example she used. It's also why they want me there 1-2 times each month to see what new things I can incorporate with him. Speech therapy would be more one on one working on sounds and pronunciation. I didn't bring the paperwork with me but when I get home I can screen shot you his evaluation. They had several different categories and then list where he aligns with peers his age. On a few of the categories he was at 22 months, one was 16 and I forget the rest. I'm not sure I really answered your question...

jewels I'm not sure about your insurance but they told me at the beginning of the appointment that if he didn't qualify they'd give me the names of different therapists I could contact myself. Have you ever looked to see if your state has an ECI program or something like that? I referred myself this time but if H didn't qualify for this service, I was going to find my own therapist. If you're concerned it'd probably be worth it to get him evaluated by someone, if your pedi is brushing you off right now. At least for your own peace of mind.

tgrimes, My state does have ECI. I thought I needed a pedi referral but I might be wrong about that. I did find some evaluation on line and gave it to him about 2 months ago myself. He was at the bottom level of normal on most areas (except speech since at that time he, too, had like 3 words), but obviously I am not a professional.

Call them or check out their website to see if you can do your own referral. If not, I'd harass your pedi until they do it for you. Lol.
