DS is 3.5 months old and is working on at least 1 tooth-we see it. This started last weekend when he was refusing to nurse. Sometimes I could get him to but when we couldn't, he would take a bottle. He snapped out of it by the end of the weekend and did bottles like normal at DC and breastfed when I was at home.
Yesterday, he was a little fussier about eating again, but would nurse. He teeth were clearly bothering him-drooling, fussier, gnawing so hard on our fingers. Until just now. We tried various positions and then the bottle. He wouldn't take the bottle either. So we gave him an ounce by syringe. He should have definitely been hungry. Nursed like normal around 6pm, very quick feeding at 9 and woke at 2:30 am. I'm just worried about him not getting enough calories. He had Tyenol at 8:30 and then again at 2:30.
Anybody experience this before? Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks ladies!

have you tried giving him a cold washcloth to gnaw on? or ice in one of those mesh feeders? or one of the teething toys with gel in them that you can refrigerate? are you trying to time the tylenol approx 30 minutes before you nurse to give it a chance to work? have you tried different nursing positions in case one might be more comfortable for him?

He chewed on various things all the day long yesterday. I was hesitant to give him ice but that probably wouldn't be too much water would it? The earliest we could give him Tylenol was 2:30 last night and even 30 minutes later when we were still all up, he wasn't nursing or taking bottle. I tried cross cradle, laying in bed, and football. I even tried to stand and sway and sing. We did swaddled and unswaddled. He had me stumped. He nursed at 5 like normal with no fussing but would not nurse this morning after 3 attempts around 8. Apparently he did fine with bottles at DC, and just now nursed before falling asleep.
