Work! My half eaten Chinese food! Someone ate that and left the empty container in the fridge. Isn't that gross? WTF?

I would not eat after someone at work. That's disgusting #1. #2 They'll eventually know their food was eaten so you'd have to be really sneaky about hiding it.
You should start rummaging through everyone's trash cans to find the culprit.

trtlcrzy the radio said Starbucks holiday drinks come out tomorrow! Yes! And if you get one tomorrow you get a free reusable cup that takes 50 cents off through Christmas. I’m suck a sucker for a gimmick. I’m stopping in tmrw.

joelies Colin sounds a lot like my oldest. We go to events for his hockey team and my others run right off and find friends and he hangs with me even though he knows everyone. He’s smart and kind and thoughtful but he has a big fear of getting in trouble so he shys away from anyone who may get in trouble. He has 2 very close friends and he’s perfectly happy to just hang out with them. I was the same way though but I was not unhappy so I don’t worry about him too much. DH on the other hand is very social and worries about it. I’m actually really impressed with his adjustment to middle school. He went from the little elementary school down the block to a very large, very diverse, kinda rough school and he’s doing really well. I kinda feel that if it doesn’t bother him, it’s personality and you can’t really change that.

Watch out everyone, there is a maaaaaaad wine in town. I ordered Chinese for lunch yesterday and left half of it for today. Someone ate it!! I almost cried. It was going to taste so good, I was starving and didn't have time to go buy something. Luckily I now am eating a Mexican bowl, not nearly as good as the Chinese though. I'm embarrassed to admit how long it took me to figure out what "maaaaaaad wine" meant. I was like, "mad cow?" "bad wine?" "wine that's gone bad?" Then I got it. eta: also, stealing someone's lunch is bad enough, but stealing HALF-EATEN food is beyond disgusting. Adding your coworker to my Raised By Wolves post-it...

DH took his mom and B out on a couple errands and to show her the lay of the land, so to speak. Apparently she doesn't want to drive on the interstate here. I hope they make it to tennis on Saturday. I need to pack but everything is washed and I'm just making some last-minute notes about routine, etc.

But I've also seen him "snub" friends who go out of their way to be friendly time and time again. And while I understand, I have to assume the kids don't. DH just thinks it's weird, which probably bothers me more than it should since in my mind, he's also saying I'm weird.

wineallthetime, not that I think you're gross and have cooties...but that's so gross. Ew. And rude, obviously. joelies regarding singing the National Anthem motn, it reminded me of the movie Curly Sue. Obscure late 80s/early 90s movie with Jim Belushi I've seen a million times. And regarding introversion, Cass is an introvert like me. I encourage her to do appropriate socialization, but don't push her too much out of her comfort zone. She had two parties this weekend and she definitely enjoyed her skating birthday party more--people she knew, she could ignore people and snack when she wanted, and there was a clear activity she could be doing (skating) rather than just sit around feeling awkward during lulls of interaction with others. I figure unless she seems to be having problems with it or clearly lacks social skills, I'll just follow her lead. klong11 MH did the same thing too with mostly only handing out 1 piece of candy. I don't understand how he didn't adjust his plans when he saw we had two giant Costco bags of candy and not as many ToTers as expected.

So I finally found out what time my flight leaves for work on Sunday. 1245. Yes. 1245 in the effing morning. Like midnight. And with DST I don't even know what effing time that actually is. I arrive at my last flight around 9 am so I'll probably get to my final destination by 10:30. I don't even think I can get in my room until the afternoon. This is some tiny town in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin and of course they won't give me a rental car so I'll have nothing to do for hours sitting there with my luggage. Going to start out as an awesome work trip.

wineallthetime That's gross that someone ate your leftovers. I'm just thinking of walking into my breakroom and randomly eating someone's half eaten meal...do I even know whose it was originally? Yuck. In the ongoing fridge saga...I called the company I left a vm for yesterday afternoon, since I hadn't heard from them. They said the tech doesn't work on our brand of fridge. Okay...this is the very first guy who came out and told me that he didn't want to do anything that might void the warranty, nice to know he lied. So I called another company and they're scheduled to come out Monday or Tuesday. I called Kitchen Aid, due to the conflicting information from the two techs that have been out to see if they can tell if the evaporator has been replaced. I *think* after talking to them, that it has been done. So I called the company that has been out twice, just to complain and see if I could get any of my service fee payment back ($100). I left a vm for someone. About 30 minutes later, I get a call from the manager of the techs for this company apologizing for what has happened and that he wants to make it right. He told me if I give them another chance, they will cover the cost of the ice maker and motor, since I've already paid the service fee, I would just have to pay for the labor, which he will discount as well, so a total of $65. I told him to get everything ordered. They're coming out first thing tomorrow morning.

inthekitty your flight time is terrible. Re DST, I don't think it technically happens until 2am, so I would assume don't change your clocks prior to leaving. But that's a tough one.

At pick up or drop off, many times his friends want hugs or to say goodbye and he just walks away. I always sit down and explain to him that it would hurt his feelings if they did that to him and he understands in that moment, but then the next day, he's the same again. All that to say, I do think it's more "normal" than you think. And he's not weird in the slightest.

lfig are you around? There is a thread on the general board you might be able to help with. A poster thinks, but is unsure, if her child is having seizures or not. Thanks! I popped in over there and gave her my .02 cents just now.

tgrimes, We made pizza quinoa again tonight. It’s the second time I’ve done it and it continues to be a big hit. Last time we used white sauce with mushrooms, ground sausage and red onions, and tonight traditional marinara sauce with pepperoni and olives. So good!!

He is very social, but at pick up and drop off he is not trying to hug his friends who are overly excited to see him or saying bye to him. I hope you find a resource that helps you figure it out. I have a Starbucks gift card and I will be stopping tomorrow, too. In the last week I have somehow destroyed both my coffee cups with lids. flamingo Is this the Arizona trip? Our machine was down this morning and by lunch we were told it was down for the day, so I came home to pick up for the cleaning lady coming Saturday. I also did some cutting in around the crown molding so I can roll the rest of the walls this weekend and be done with my painting project.
Soccer is still on for tonight. I’ll be bringing a change of clothes for both kids because it is very wet from the rain earlier.

I wonder if I can just print the sharks out and make the cake topper myself with toothpicks. I think Etsy has some downloads...

tgrimes girl, don't pay for downloads, just Google for an image you like, save it, open it in word, resize it, copy paste until you have as many as you want and done. And if you want it double sided, just flip the image. Print them out, cut them out, glue them together with the toothpick in the middle

tgrimes if you can draw a shark you can just buy some sugar sheets, draw the shark with edible markers and cut out, put on cake.

Hi super busy at work. I just finished reading the schools monthly news and they just recommended TJ’s cookie butter as an alternative to peanut butter. That has no nutritional qualities at all. They gave me a ten page packet at the beginning of the school year with the expectations for lunch. I don’t think cookie butter meets those expectations.
Also It’s supposedly a nut free school but LO received peanut m&ms yesterday. This school confuses me more and more.
