So, according to daycare, BabyWaffle refuses to nap in the morning now, which means she gets hungry/tired earlier than at home and that influences the whole day/night as a result.
She has lunch around 11 then naps from 11.30-2 (used to be 12/12.30-2), then has fruit at 2ish and another nap at 3ish for about an hour (doesn't do at home). I'll pick her up at 5.30 and she gets "dinner" (some puffs, a bit of veg, a few spoons of hummus) at 6, then milk at 7ish after her bath.
Since she's gone to this schedule, and seems to be hangry at 5, which really sucks if I pick her up at 5.30! She's also waking up at 6 instead of 7 Hopefully it's a coincidence with the clocks going back, but still, not a fan!
Anyway, questions:
1. Daycare suggests giving her a bit of milk around 5 to tide her over until dinner, which makes sense to me. But then she's being fed one way or another every hour at the end of the day?! We modified the "dinner" to allow her to have her full bottle of milk at bedtime as she was otherwise getting hungry during the night. I'm afraid she won't want all that food in such a short time and this kid loves her sleep so I hate the thought of it being broken up.
2. Bedtime routine - we head up at 6.30 and do bath, pjs, bottle, teeth, story/song/cuddle and aim for her to be sleeping by 7.30. Is it more logical to group dinner and milk before bath/maybe pushing it back to 6.30? We're only home at 5.30/5.45.
Sorry if these are stupid, we had a very settled routine and I'm really clueless. Daycare says just follow the child's rhythm My BFF says to do what suits us best, but I'm not sure what that is right now.
Any input, ladies? Any questions of your own?

Many kids transition to one mid day nap around a year ish old. Ds2 does either one mid day nap OR a late morning nap plus a short afternoon nap. But he sleeps in (830am) and has at least one MOTN wake up for nursing. Ds1 was doing one mid day nap at daycare at this age and eventually transitioned to doing that at home on the weekends too (from the late morning and short afternoon).
I would suggest an earlier bed time for her. I know it sucks, but it sounds like she needs the sleep. Ds1 is often ravenous when he gets home from daycare so I give him a healthy snack or dinner within 20 minutes of him getting home.

I would also increase the solids that she is getting for dinner. I always do a protein (chicken, steak, pork chops, you name it) and a veggie plus Cheerios or puffs at the end if we are still eating. He only has four teeth still but he loves himself a nicely cooked steak lol. If you want to stick to non animal proteins, I would increase the amount or spread the hummus on pita or something.

I just your post in randoms. I would just increase her food intake. Ds1 was eating three meals a day plus snacks at one years old (and fighting bottles). High healthy fats and proteins. Ds2 freaks out if someone else is eating and he is not so he eats whenever someone in my house is lol. 🤷

So he just had a baby yogurt and Cheerios lol.

grumpycat, thank you! She's recently started being really interested in everything we eat - to the point of climbing over my legs to get to my plate so I guess more solids it is! Would you tell daycare not to add the milk at 5 then? They won't give snacks. For bedtime, we don't have much leeway with food and bath - that's how we ended up moving from 7 to 7.30 Why don't babies come with an instructions manual?

So if we do milk at 5 at daycare, then dinner at 5.45/6 at home (more solids/protein), at what time would you offer her more milk?

If you've been doing a bottle before bed, I would still offer at that same time. She will likely start to decrease the amount she drinks of formula as her solid food increases. We always offered with ds1. Ds2 still nurses for a bit before bed despite eating more dinner than ds1 sometimes. 😂

Waffle I sometimes give AJ a bottle before dinner if we're having a late meal. He never usually finishes it. Then dinner with wcm or water and then the rest of his bottle before bedtime. So, I dont see anything wrong with giving her a snack bottle to hold her over. But I would definitely recommend increasing her food portions at dinner

Jumping in at add that the fruit at 2 isn't enough for her to make it until 6:00 without something else. She needs either more protein at 2 or a bigger snack or a bottle in between.
As for bedtime, I would try to shorten it some. I would cut down the length or frequency of the bath and or/ story. For E, he usually eats at 5:45, in the bath at 6 (some nights he falls asleep with his bottle because of crappy day naps and we just send him to bed), dressed, story, and is in bed by 6:30. Sometimes they have to go to bed early and you don't see them very much. It really isn't fair.
But every kid is different and you just have to play around with things until you figure the best routine/schedule for what works for you.

Thank you so much for the advice!
For the last couple of days we've been giving her a bigger dinner at 5.30 and it seems to be helping. Come Monday she will have a bottle around 4.30 and dinner for 6. We'll aim to get her into bed a bit earlier too. It's tough to squeeze it all in!
