Trying to survive the day at school today. We have a Halloween party this morning and a parade through town this afternoon. The kids are beyond excited. My H has the day off so he's picking up the boys and bringing them up to me so they can be in the parade. Tonight is probably a trunk and treat, followed by dinner, and then just a couple of neighbors' houses.

Trying not to fall asleep at my desk: BabyWaffles wanted to party at 4am then was up for the day at 6. I almost had to shout at the daycare woman this morning as she was talking over me and just wouldn't listen to what I wanted to say. I swear, the fact that they're surrounded with shouty kids all day makes those people really difficult to communicate with. Anyway, I was trying to tell her to not feed BabyWaffles as early as they have because she ends up hungry for dinner before I can even pick her up. Apparently, it's impossible to make her wait for food and as soon as she sees it brought out for the early kids, she wants it too I'll make another post to ask for your input please!

Hello! C was up a lot last night. I was going to go to the gym this morning, but I chose to sleep a bit more instead. Tomorrow!
I’m working for 3 hours this morning, then taking ds1 to get a Holter monitor placed (he has a mild heart arrhythmia and he has his bi-yearly cardiology appt later this month). I’m hoping Halloween is a good distraction and he leaves it alone!
TOT is from 4-7 so we’ll start in our neighborhood, go to my parents house, and then then down the ILs street so the boys can TOT with their cousins which is our tradition. I can’t wait!

Happy Halloween!!
My neighborhood is actually made up of one city and two different towns. Naturally they all do TOT on different days/times. So we went on Saturday and Sunday with friends and I think we will skip tonight. I did dress them in Halloween shirts today 😊

Dh went back to work today! 🙌 I meant to get up and help him get ds1 ready but was so tired. Ds2 needs to get it together. I'm hoping better days continue at school. I know today is going to be challenging because they are having a Halloween party. We are having a party with a neighbors and then going ToT as a group after. Dh is going to stay home to give out candy/toys. My mom is coming with me to wrangle ds1. I will likely wear ds2. I'm anxious about the peanut candies. quinn what is the procedure at your house? Do you like trade out the ones with peanut butter? I don't even want them coming in to my house.

grumpycat I go though all candy when we get home. I lay it all out on the counter so he can't reach (He knows not to go through it until mom or dad can look first, he understands peanuts make him sick). I take everything out that has peanuts and either keep it up really high in the pantry in Tupperware or toss it. I don't replace any candy I took out. He ends up with enough gorge on lol. The older boys keep all their candy out of reach too and anything with peanuts in it they bring to school and eat it there

grumpycat do you know about the teal pumpkins? People who hand out peanut-free candy or toys instead of candy put out teal pumpkins. There's a website you can go to where you can see who has teal pumpkins out in your neighborhood

But I'll use it in the future once ds2 is actually able to ToT.

We have a really hilly neighborhood. I'm thinking he may get through our street and the one closest to us. We shall see 🎃

Happy Halloween everyone! I'm just hanging at home waiting for DH and DD to get home from her first full day of daycare. They just started digging up the road a few houses down 🤷 seems weird to dig across the sidewalk on Halloween, but I guess the show must go on!

He got to five houses before he said he was done and had enough treats. 🤷 He asked everyone if they had Reese's and then told them that he couldn't have it lol. Oh well. He's very aware of ds2's allergy. Someone brought apples with peanut butter to our cul-de-sac potluck. Like ... Really? My one neighbor suggested putting a note on them so ds1 didn't get offered one. I also cut up an apple for him without peanut butter. The apples with peanut butter didn't go at all lol. 🙄 I guess my note about ds2's allergy was a deterrent.
I brought our dishes back in and there was at least one smudge of peanut butter on it. Like that's all it takes. I know I'm a little paranoid but my kid could die from this.

I got 1 TOTer... 1!!! 😠
The kids had fun. It was raining so we didnt go for long. Mostly just the houses we knew. Our nextdoor neighbor brought over 3 full bags of candy, she does every year, so we have more than enough lol.
Ds1 and ds2 went out by themselves for a bit and I put AJ to bed. Ds3 watched Monsters University with me and H took the 3 kids to his mom's for cider and donuts.

I’ve gone through about 400 pieces of candy giving most kids 1 and some 2. I can’t get over how many people are still out though at 8:30. I feel like it’s usually dying down by now. I’ll be turning my lights off shortly when we run out of candy.

We had a great time trick or treating! I kept thinking about how last year I was doing lunges down the street trying to get C into a good position and hopefully throw myself into labor. I was sooo uncomfortable and still had 1.5 weeks to go. This year I got to push my sweet little peanut in the stroller with a yeti full of white wine. Much preferred lol! Ds1 had so much fun with his cousins.
We set out a huge bowl of candy/little toys and when we got home it was empty and turned upside down- there’s no way we had that many trick or treaters so some asshole kid must’ve taken it all.

Now, they do a trunk n treat down the road and most of our neighbors don’t turn their lights on. Next year I’m buying one bag of candy. It started raining here too with didn’t help.

Trick or treating gave me contractions last year. Not enough to start labor but enough to inspire me to go for a 4 mile walk that Sunday, which did put me in to labor And at least they left your bowl! I see posts every year on my town Facebook page about people getting bowls stolen.

It was the same when I was little too. I do live in a more rural area though. The neighbors by our house hand out full size candy bars since we don't get many kids

So next year, I will just send a reminder out. I just stuck by ds2 most of the time and put his auviQ close behind him. One little girl specifically went and washed her hands after eating peanut butter because of his allergy. It was very sweet. But it's frustrating that it was an issue to begin with. We all survived. And that's what matters!

I had more candy so I was able to hand it out to the kids that came by after but now I refuse to leave a bowl out again. Dh stayed at home to give out candy since he's still not supposed to be doing too much activity. I think ds1 enjoyed handing out candy more than ToT lol.

I hate to say it, but this happens every year. I always put out a huge bowl of candy and it’s always all gone when we get back. We have a tradition of going trick or treating in the ILs neighborhood so no one stays home to hand it out. I suppose we could just not put out any candy, but every year I have a glimmer of hope that it won’t all get taken. Oh well.

Last night was a bust - N fell asleep on the way home from DC, and when he woke up and we tried putting him in his costume to go see the neighbors, started screaming bloody murder. Sigh. He also was up a bunch between bedtime and around 9pm, but then slept until 430, took his bottle, then went back to sleep, so thank God for that. His cough is also getting better. (The Vick's humidifier seems to be doing well for us - thank you for the recommendation, blabbermouth!) H, however, appears to have woken up with pinkeye. He went into work, which was stupid, but at least had the sense to make a doctor's appointment and turn around for home. So that means I continue on full time N duty until he's been on antibiotics for a day. DNW N to get it AGAIN. It's going to be a long cold and flu season, isn't it? On the plus side, I have dinner plans with friends tomorrow night, and I don't think we have anything super pressing on the docket this weekend. H owes me at least one day to sleep in, I think
