With all of the minimalist talk, I was seriously thinking of trying the Project 333 challenge. I know I have a lot of junk in my closet I don't wear at this point. I might just get some boxes and pack up everything that I hate/don't fit into/is out of season and see what happens. It just feels very appealing to be able to easily grab something to wear in the morning rather than have tons of crap in my closet I can't wear. Has anyone tried this and been successful? I'm all about purging all the things, but I don't know what this is either.

Sorry, added a link. Basically keep a standard wardrobe of 33 items for 3 months.
1. This includes accessories (not wedding ring and one piece of jewelry that is warn daily). 2. Excludes pajamas 3. Excludes work out clothing
I'm not sure if I'll take it to the extreme, but I'm considering getting pretty close.

I hadn't heard of this particular project, but I am pretty close to 33 items right now. I'll count later. I have been gradually purging things that I never wear out of my closet, and putting items that I LOVE, that look good on me, into more heavy rotation. I'm also slowly making over my wardrobe into things made in the USA, because that matters to me. It isn't always possible (not a lot of shoes or bras made in the US, for example) but I am doing my best.
I aspire to be like Zuckerberg, wear the same t-shirt and black pants every day!

I read up on it and then never did it. Mostly lazy. I really just need to get rid of all of the clothes I never wear. I'd probably have less than 33 items then.

If I got rid of all of the things I never wear I'd probably be right around that number. I hang on to a lot of random pieces that only get worn rarely or that I might need for a specific occasion though, because I hate spending money on clothes and would rather just wear something I already have. I got rid of most of my wardrobe in between C and O because most things either didn't fit or I never wore them, and now I wish I had kept a lot of them.

This is the first I'm hearing about this, too, but I'd like to do it. I got rid of a garbage bag's worth of clothes a couple months ago and my closet and dresser are still overflowing. It doesn't help that I always sort my clothes when my mom is here and she's always like, "are you sure? That's cute!" and then I decide to keep everything. I'm going to try to make a rule that if I haven't worn it in the past year, it can go. If I have time tomorrow I'm going to start sorting.
