Its Halloween hell week at school. Our principal is out and so is the other special ed teacher so I'm on my own. So far we had blood shed on a bus, I had to restrain a 7 year old who kept trying to hurt herself, broke up a fight between two 8 year olds, and a bunch of little stuff...and it's only monday.
We went to the Halloween birthday party yesterday and j had a blast. It was at a party place that was geared for 6 months to 5 year olds. He was into everything. However, the party was 12 to 4 and by the end the kids were melting down because most had missed their nap. J held on but passed out in the car which was good because it was a 2 hour drive.
I'm sad about the shooting in Pittsburgh. It's my home town and it's just sad what the world has come too.
After 2 weeks of cold it's supposed to be 70 on Wednesday for trick or treating.

Sorry for the rough work week king26. Maybe it’s the full moon or something.

Omg king26. That sounds stressful. Is Halloween week usually worse than other weeks at school? Also so sad about Pittsburgh. Can't believe it.

Halloween isn’t my favorite holiday. I could really take it or leave it...mostly I leave it. I also think it’s crazy to have a million Halloween events practically all month long.
Also, after 2 years of living that period free life, it came back a couple days ago. So I may just be more grumpy from that than normal.

That sucks @easilyunamused. I feel like now I get way more bloated that time of the month than pre toddler H, and it's awful.
Mom fail admission: I can't get toddler H into his carseat after daycare unless I give him a cookie. It's embarrassing, but it works.

I am sick of this leap and we still have 16 more days.
R woke up at 5:30, but I didn’t get her out of the crib until 6am. She played a cute game of peek-a-boo with her blanket and then it went downhill. She was falling all over the place and whining about random crap. She looked down the hallway at 6:30 and signed sleep, so I asked if she wanted to go to bed. She walked to her room so I put her in her crib. But, that didn’t last 5 minutes. She didn’t cry, but I got her out since she was standing. Now she’s eating. She keeps pulling on her ear, so I think her teeth are bothering her too.
She also learned the sign help yesterday. So this morning she threw her sippy cup off the couch and then thought she needed help. Yeah, kid, I’m not “helping” when you do shit on purpose.

Oof, sorry for the hell week king26 ! I’m also team meh on Halloween @easilyunamused. Sooooo sorry about your period return. It really sucks. It’s one thing I love about pregnancy and BF lol. Oh good, it’s not just my kid who is a screeching ear piercing nightmare. It is so damn exhausting 😴 Also M is finally sleeping better and D1 was up a few times last night ugh! Granted I’m glad she can wake up and say she has to pee instead of wetting the bed but god kid, just pull up your own blankets lol.

N goes apeshit when I try to put him in the car seat. He either gets my keys, phone, Cheerios, or cheese to pacify him enough to lock him in there. Woof. Of course he doesn’t do it when dh or the nanny puts him in the seat 😒

addymac, solidarity, lol. I was having to ask my daycare provider to come out and put toddler H in his carseat and was so embarrassed that I couldn't do it myself. Thank God for cookies.

Today my daughter pitched an epic fit at the babysitter's when I picked her up because I had the wrong car. Seriously ten minutes of hysterics in the driveway. She was also upset because J and Daddy weren't there. Ugh.
J had a doctor's visit with shots and was a perfect kid, figures that happens the day H has him...

So J is starting to walk. His big thing is to hang on to something, let go, and walk to either dh or I. The thing is he only goes about 4 steps and falls into us or into the floor because he is leaning forward . He does not have good balance when trying to walk. How do I encourage him to come farther and to balance himself better while walking?

I rolled my ankle yesterday afternoon. My foot fell asleep and I stood up. I couldn’t feel anything so I thought I could walk. Nope, my body moved but my left foot didn’t.
R slept from 5:30pm to 7:20am. She was a hot mess yesterday so I put her to bed. I guess she needed the sleep.

king26 He'll gain more confidence. You could also set up chairs or other supports at intervals for him to lean on. You could hold out cheese or Cheerios, but he might just drop down and crawl to get it faster!!!

My ankles are my Achilles heel when it comes to my body. I am always amazed at Rs sleeping abilities. Did she wake up talking in complete sentences? (Haha) what was her new skill today?? I started paying attention to when Noah needed extra sleep after you mentioned how she sleeps more when she’s about to do something new and while he’s not a 14hr sleeper he certainly has longer naps on those days so I always think of you and R when those days happen. 🤗

My ankle is better, but it’s clearly slightly sprained. addymac Nothing new that’s obvious, but she’s trying to communicate more. She has 2 more weeks of this leap and I think she’s going to come out of it with some words.

Anyone doing anything special in regards to DST? I’m not looking forward to an early wake up and he’s never slept later from putting him down at a later time.

No, probably not. It never seems to make a difference with my kids but they typically aren’t super early risers so hopefully that continues 🤞

I hope he falls back to the normal time after this weekend though.

I hate all time changes. It messes up both kids for about a week. And for what purpose?! I'm dreading it again. I remember being so excited as a kid because OMG an extra hour! And now..ugh.
