tallb Evie has told me twice she wants a new mom. Both times, I ask her how she's going to get to school, get ready for the day, if her new mom will love her as much as I do, etc. She gets sad and stops saying it, so then we have to talk about hurtful words. Kids are such assholes.

I'm thinking about adopting a dog soon. Our dog has been pretty down and depressed since we put Luna down and I think it would help. Paige has never been an only dog, although I think she enjoys all the attention. I feel bad thinking about it though...like I'm trying to replace Luna, and that isn't possible, there will never be another Luna. I have lots of feels on it, I'm still pretty upset about her being gone. Plus potty training in the winter doesn't sound fun.

We are doing our first trunk or treat Sunday evening. It's a weekend full of Halloween shit. Tonight is a thing sponsored by the local rec department, it's at one of the schools, face painting, balloons, candy, all kind of shit. Tomorrow the big cat preserve is doing Prowl O Ween, so a good excuse to go see the tigers! Sunday is the trunk or treat. Monday my mom's real estate office is doing some kind of halloween thing. We may not need to buy candy at all after this weekend!

My dad has bell's palsy. This is like the 4th time or something. I found out yesterday that his neurologist has also diagnosed him with early stage dementia. He apparently also had a TIA when he had that driving incident several weeks ago.

I am not looking forward to hearing my mother bitch & complain about this for the next several years.

tgrimes, look into programs around there where he can go during the day to take classes and such for his dementia. I feel like it really would have helped MIL if FIL would have "allowed" her to go to them. Plus, it will give your mom less time around him and hopefully less things to bitch about.
He'll be able to get out of the house and keep his brain active.

flamingo I think that is a perfect trunk idea. Last year I did "teddy bear picnic" and just grabbed the dolls and play dishes from Es room. This year I have a big plastic castle door sheet left over from Es costume all I'll use that. For school it really is low key

I’m about to burn shit down with our cabinet guy. I met with him sept 13th and he had said end of oct, early nov for install lead time. I told him our flooring is scheduled for nov 7, because our flooring guy had to squeeze us in in between larger jobs.

I’ve been calling and emailing for the last 3 weeks and have gotten zero answers. We are one week out and I know they haven’t even started making the cabinets yet. He told me last week he would have an answer by mid- late this week so I emailed again on Wednesday and just called now and had to leave a message that usually never gets returned. So frustrating! We used the same company with our mudroom and had zero issues, so I am a bit surprised by this. If it doesn’t happen on schedule, it will likely be pushed back several weeks.

slenle argh, that’s so frustrating. The horrible thing about construction/renovations is that each subcontractor’s job is dependent on someone else doing theirs, so when one item goes awry things domino.

Do they have an office or workshop where you/your H can go in person to try and pin them down? I hate to say it but sometimes I feel like my husband has more luck with this kind of thing. Which is a topic for another vent. 😒

Yes!  Occasionally his eyesight goes crazy but he's back to walking normally and isn't in pain.  He still has issues with his Crohn's but the guillian barre is pretty much gone.

They do, it’s about 40 minutes from here, so not ideal. And the guy i need to talk to is never in the office.

Whenever I call, they say “I’ll add it to your file for him to return your email” shouldn’t my email be enough of a reminder for him?! So today I said, no, please have him call me this afternoon as I haven’t been getting a response at all and this is time sensitive. So frustrating!

I worked with his son last time, maybe i should see if I can get a hold of him...

I am watching that as we speak!! I have no idea what happened. A lot of the defense they came up with for him seems kind of far fetched to me... but it also makes sense at the same time. I always thought he was guilty. But, now I consider that it for sure could have been someone else in the family/area. And the police involved were obviously super shady.
