I wouldn't be too concerned about the fb pictures. You have to sign an agreement that allows them to take and share pictures of your child. If you don't want them to, then you just say no.

mamabear I have never done a DCP search so take my .02 with a grain of salt. Is there any way of knowing why/what causes DC 2 to have a lower state rating? Why do you think there is such a big price difference? is DC1's price the 'going rate' and DC2 unusually inexpensive, or are both prices in the normal range for the area? Do you feel like DC1 would really cramp your budget, or is it comfortably doable? Are they providing something extra to justify the added expense, in your opinion? RE: DC1, I like that the classrooms are closed off, the summer program would be convenient b/c you'd have both kids there ostensibly, and it's closer to work so ostensibly easier to get there for mid-day appointments, or if you have to pick up a sick child, etc. Those are the pro's I see. Is splitting duties with your H feasible if needed? RE: DC2, As PP said, I wouldn't be overly concerned about FB pics assuming you could sign a waiver to not have your child's image used. I guess my hesitation there is the lower rating, and the open plan...the super noisy environment would be a turnoff for me personally. Would it bother a kid? IDK.

Could you do both pickups and dropoffs from the first place if needed?
If your h could do morning and you do night with the second, I'd prob go for that one for convenience. I'd also say no fb pics on public site. Plus $3,600 a year in savings is a nice vacation!

I know you said you got a good vibe from the second one, but really try to picture A at each place. Where seems like a fit?
What are you plans for L for the summer? Does the fact that the first one have a summer program factor into the decision?
Also, is either center in the town the kids go to school in? I love that of the 20 kids in S class this year, I believe 16 of them are in our district, and at least 5 are in our specific elementary school. I know it will make the transition so much easier.

I think I've visited 2 similar places when we were looking at infant care. The biggest turnoff for me was the half wall classrooms. After being at a mixed age homecare I am sure it would be distracting. If you are only paying for 1 daycare and it is easier for the work commute but not bad on days off when you need a break then I would go for place 1. If you more just want a babysitter rather than rely on the hearing the then I would go for place 2.
