We had Mexican food the other night for dinner and DH looked at me in disbelief as I dove into the chips and three different varieties of salsa. I’m normally a wimp when it comes to spicy foods but for some reason when pregnant I crave it and it doesn’t bother me. My first pregnancy I craved hot wings. I have no idea how or why, but I guess hormones change my taste buds?

Anyone have dizzy spells? I've been having them and don't recall dealing with this in the past. Google tells me it's normal - blood flow to the heart is slower now, but to ask dr. so I put a call into the nurse line. I've never even been to this doctor and the staff is probably sick of me already.

I forgot to mention that at my appointment in ntment, but it has not happened again.

bearfootzcontinued, I am constantly dizzy and lightheaded. I was with DS too, for the first trimester and some of the second. It's really concerning and annoying, but I think it's just the body adjusting/blood flow. I'm going to bring it up at my next apt though, it never hurts. (I've been watching my BP too, thinking it had something to do with that, but it's been holding steady.)

Nurse said it’s normal and to increase fluids and eat protein (nuts, pb crackers) every two hours and to stand up slowly. If it gets worse call back. I’m also bummed because the appointment on the 19th doesn’t include and ultrasound so I’m. It sure when that will take place. Will just hope that all is well I guess.

Anyone have any tips for dealing with constipation?
I'm going to try to increase the water, fruits, and veggie intake - I admit my diet has not been great because of the nausea. But if anyone has any suggestions, I would welcome them. Thanks!

bearfootzcontinued, I’ve had some constipation issues as well. If you don’t mind them, I find that eating prunes works for me. I’ll eat about 6 prunes mid afternoon. And the general “more water, more fiber” but I feel like I’m constipsted whether I drink 8 big glasses of water or not.

Sorry if this is TMI, but I have IBS and normally things are pretty fast and furious. But I'm guessing the hormones, progesterone supplements, and Zofran aren't helping.
Pinterest told me to make fruit smoothies but I haven't hauled out the blender yet.

What is Colace, a laxative?

Oh, ok - I might have some stool softener in the cabinet from when I was prescribed pain killers after my fibroid removal. Maybe I'll message the doctor and see if I can give that a try too.
Seriously - I'm not the grossest person on earth - I just seem to be having all of the fun symptoms

Yes, I’ve only used it a couple times, but one of my worst memories from my first pregnancy (when I took zofran almost daily) was awful constipation and feeling like pooping was as bad as labor. Seriously awful.

bearfootzcontinued, I hope you find something that works for you! I was lucky enough but to struggle with constipation both during pregnancy and then it got so much worse after my c section last time. This time I took colace right away during my first trimester and it helped. Also if I'm having problems I try to avoid too much bread and cheese, eat a lot of fruit like apples and prunes, and drink coffee or tea in addition to a ridiculous amount of water.

I have been taking magnesium (natural calm) in hopes of sleeping better, and helping with constipation. It helps some, but I may be getting some prunes soon.

Seriously awful. The worst part of having my gallbladder removed was the constipation caused by the painkillers afterwards. I had no idea a bowel movement could be that painful.
I'm trying to avoid the Zofran today and tough it out - you know, which means I feel like puking and have a gut ache. I had shredded wheat for dinner last night and that helped some. Drinking extra tea and water today and going grocery shopping at lunch. Of course it's Sushi Wednesday but I have to skip that. Or can I get a Philadelphia roll?

bearfootzcontinued, I think Philadelphia rolls are out because of the smoked salmon. A California roll should be safe though!

There's also a Noodles next to the grocery store, but that's not going to help my problem at all.

I miss sushi too! I love all the sashimi, but it’s not worth the risk. 6ish more months!
