ladybrienne, yes my sister and her H came out for a few days and my mom is here, so I'm well supported with a lot of the basics. Diordra thank you so much, that is a kind offer. We basically have what we need, I just haven't washed and put away laundry, didn't get cleaning done, and teh big thing is that I didn't get myself prepped in terms of work -- I don't have any formal time off so I had planned to get stuff done ahead of time so that things could be on autopilot for awhile. Instead I'm scrambling, cutting corners, and canceling as much of the short-term stuff as I can. It sucks but there are zero other options at this point. Also I think I need a Rock N Play. I should get one, yes? Used ones always come up on the sale sites here...

She even slept in it at night for a couple months although I don’t think that’s recommended. It’s super lightweight so we would carry it around the house and she could snooze or just hang out wherever we were. Now it’s my favorite baby shower gift to give!

I need to: --Switch to new pediatrician for both kids --Assemble the swing and mamaroo --Vote! I have my ballot but have done no research --Birth plan? --Pick a preschool for DS1 (stretch goal at this point, almost 38 weeks) --Attack junk-drawer-like areas and CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN --various householdy things (hem and wash curtains, install window AC/heater) --finish up kitchen reno (only installing new lights is really my problem, the rest is on professionals or DH. In theory. Not always how it has been working out...)

Oh, maybe I need a rock n play. Now my husband wants to get one that rocks by itself... Rnp ‘s for everyone! We have the auto rock 'n play from DS, and I will say we never used the rocking feature much. The main win to thing was that it kept DS cozy and inclined, the rocking didn't really seem to do anything, and honestly was a little loud if it's otherwise quiet (like if you have it in your bedroom at night or taking a nap or whatever). So if I were spending my own money, I'd probably buy one without that feature. Which, I'm debating getting a second just so we have one on each floor, lol - ours was in constant use with DS.

How many outfits for the baby are you taking to the hospital? I have 3 packed and I have no idea if that’s too many or not enough or what.
I also don’t know how many changes of clothes to bring for myself.

I also don’t know how many changes of clothes to bring for myself. Just one outfit for baby. They're swaddled in a diaper or doing skin to skin the entire time in my experience. For myself, an outfit a day I think I'll be there. With a csection I'm planning on about 3 days.

I’ve got like 3 packed of each size (nb and 0-3), but if this baby is actually as big as the doctor seems to think maybe I could leave out the nb ones. I think for myself I packed 3 sets of sweatpants/nursing bra/shirt. I maybe packed a bit too much. Last time I didn’t pack enough and we ended up in the hospital longer than expected. So this time I am fine with taking a little too much 🤷🏻♀️.

But we didn’t get to dress DD until we did some pictures on the last day of our stay and then left. She was otherwise nakey or in a hospital-issued shirt and swaddled. For myself, I’ll bring two of everything (comfy pants, t-shirts, undies, bras). There was so much poking and prodding, plus BFing, that I wore the hospital gown and comfy pants for most of my stay.

quijibo are you bringing your own underwear? I was hoping the hospital would give me the diaper-ish underwear to wear, but maybe they don’t all do that?

+ whatever to the amazing-ness of the RNP. They are AMAZING. If your baby has reflux issues especially, it's a god damn LIFESAVER.

I can't remember if I brought my own underwear or not but I lived in the mesh hospital given ones so I don't think I'll bring any this time.

Oh, the hospital will provide the lovely postpartum undies, but I hate them and will bring my own. Definitely not my VS pairs. lol. But I’ll bring my own granny panties from home.

Since I don’t know if he will even fit into NB clothes I am bringing three NB outfits and three 0-3 month ones in hopes one or two of them fits.

I will be bringing my own underwear. For some reason I just didn’t care for the mesh ones the hospital gave me.

Anyone have nursing tank top recs? I picked up two of the bras recommended for me earlier from Motherhood and love them. But I have no tanks and should probably order some.

I just bought one from Kindred Bravely which is an online store. I haven’t tried it on yet but it arrived super quickly, like I ordered it on Fri and it arrived on Mon. Also got a sleep nursing bra from them.
