Anyone have recommendations on a good Halloween or fall-themed book for kids? I am the mystery reader Tuesday next week and have no clue what book to bring. I saw a bunch of Halloween books at target on sale yesterday. Room on the broom is a good one. We bought a Pete the cat and fancy Nancy book. |

Funny this came up today - S daily sheet said they read room w a broom today. I had never heard of it before!

Crazy weather! We have had like 12+" of rain since Friday. This afternoon they were calling for severe weather and we were under a tornado warning. They closed our office a little before 4 so we could all beat the storms. I saw a video in FB that looks like a tornado happened about 5 miles from my office.

Hi! We are home. It was cold with lots of rain the whole time we were gone. Today is 85 and sunny, of course. Were you able to get your pictures done? |

You know what I love about baseball in the us? That people who root for different teams can sit side by side in a stadium, if a player makes a good play, everyone can appreciate it not matter which side you’re on, kids can come to a game without being engulfed in profanities and swear words. It is just fun! Soccer in our country is very very different, supporters from different teams are kept apart, people get banned from stadiums, there are actual games played without supporters because it is to dangerous. It is beyond ridiculous. It's not always like this. I have been to some Yankees/Red Sox games that have gotten very ugly. People kicked out 2 rows in front of us for fighting, etc. E keeps asking to go to a Cubs game at their stadium. I told him he has to be older. People are way too drunk at Wrigley and also he can't sit through a game without wanting to leave in the 3rd. |

Same old thing here. E had ice skating lessons. Before we spent 10min watching the kids hockey practice and I think it got him pumped because he skated the best I've seen.
This thread reminds me I need to get the Halloween books out

It's not always like this. I have been to some Yankees/Red Sox games that have gotten very ugly. People kicked out 2 rows in front of us for fighting, etc. E keeps asking to go to a Cubs game at their stadium. I told him he has to be older. People are way too drunk at Wrigley and also he can't sit through a game without wanting to leave in the 3rd. I have a hard time sitting through an entire baseball game and I'm 34  We took the kids to a minor league game this spring; B did ok but C was beyond annoying. I won't take her back for a couple years. B has done the best at the football games we've taken him to. I think b/c there's so much action, and he loves the music, band and cheers. |

Just got home from dinner and a movie with a few friends. We saw mamma Mia 2. I haven’t seen the first one but thought it was cute but corny. Definitely could have done without Cher at the end though.

We went to 1 Cardinals game a month here ($5 tickets) but if I'm going to drive to Chicago and pay Wrigley field prices it will demand more interest in the game. But it is hard to pay attention for the whole thing. He just pays attention to nothing except the food unless I'm directing him to look at the field. |

Just booked airline tickets to go to Minnesota for thanksgiving. We will do E’s baptism as well and a small family thing for LO’s birthday.

peachsmama, tgrimes and any other N13 Mama's who's kids have had dental work done. Were you allowed to stay in the room while they worked or did you have to wait in the lobby?

When N had his caps put in and his cavities filled he was put out so we were allowed in the room while they gave him the gas. Then we had to wait in the lobby through the procedure. When he had his tooth pulled we were in the room with him as he wasn’t put out, he just had the laughing gas and numbing. |

I was not allowed with E during her filling. The dentist said they want kids to ask them questions, not ask me. We talked about it a lot before hand so she knew i wouldnt be in the room. |

klong11 B had a filling done in the spring and I stayed in the room. That’s SOP at our dentist.

Although the last time I stayed until after the shots and then I left. At the old dentist I was not allowed to even go back with her. |
