Tonight we will be trying the Merlin sleep suit. The swaddle is great for him, but hard for me to nurse him at night with it on so maybe this will make things easier. Will report back.

DS has been such a great sleeper but last night was rough and he's only wanted to cuddle/nurse all day. I'm not looking forward to tonight.

Ummm..... Stupid question: Can a baby this age poop too much? DD has pooped practically every diaper yesterday and tonight. My DS was a once-a-week pooper, so this is totally new territory for me.

tbirdlove - As long as it's normal poop and not diarrhea (I believe true diarrhea in an infant basically can't be contained by a diaper) I think it's fine.

The past couple days it seems like unless DS2 is nursing or sleeping he's screaming. I'm assuming gas but nothing I'm doing seems to help.
I have checked for hairs on body parts and he's ok so it's not that.

DD popped every diaper change for the first few weeks and so has DS. He's 1 month now and his poops are starting to normalize and not be every single diaper change. I think it's fine.

Thanks Nymeria and ftwr - I figured it was ok, it's just so not what I'm used to!! Also, as far as the newly, randomly upset and non-sleeping littles.... If you can't think of any other causes, Leap 1 should be coming soon! If you follow Wonder Weeks 😊

DH got his giant desk out of the nursery so I actually got to set it up yesterday! My SIL came over and helped me put everything together and I feel so much better about having this baby now that we have a functional nursery.

I've heard you're supposed to go by due date, but I've also read a lot of people found their babies followed then by birth date. DD hasn't been too fussy yet so I'm guessing in a week or so we'll hit the first leap maybe.

I just set up a second profile so I have one based on due date and one based on birth date so I can follow both schedules to see if one turns out to be more accurate than the other. I get why they say to use due date but not every baby will develop on exactly the same timeline.

DS was sleeping well in the RnP last night so we decided to keep him there and I slept on the couch. He slept from 9-1, 2:12-4:28, and 5:31-7:48. He seems much happier today so maybe a good night's sleep last night will reset him and tonight will be a good night in our room.

DD has been pooping so much her poor little tush is getting all irritated 😔 I was loading it with protective ointment yesterday, but apparently that wasn't enough. I've moved on to actual diaper rash cream today. I hope that helps keep it under control.
We tried to go to a cider mill today. Sunday, mid-October, 60° and sunny.... TERRIBLE IDEA!!! We knew it would be busy, but holy shit! It was ridiculous. After trying to find parking and walking all the way there, it was so busy everywhere that we just decided to leave! We grabbed some cider and donuts from this little express station they had set up, so it wasn't a complete waste of time. At least it was practice leaving the house with both kids 😉 and we all got some fresh air. As we were leaving at around 2:30, the traffic backed up to get in there was absolutely insane!
Being able to do stuff like that on a weekday when it's not so busy is a serious pro to MH working weird hours.

I've been wearing DD for pretty much every nap since she wakes up the second she leaves me (I can't even pass her off to DH or a grandparent very easily 😕) I hope I'm not setting up bad habits for later. I don't like having to wear her all the time but with dd1 it's pretty much the easiest option at this point.

Dramaphile - if I remember correctly, you're working on being a baby wearing instructor 😊 Does this look right? The fabric is nice and snug, the seat fabric comes up halfway between us. Her feet are in - she's still only 3 weeks. I think I have the rings up high enough and the fabric is flat and spread around my back. She usually seems to end up kinda slanted towards the non-ring shoulder though. Is that normal just because of the angle of the sling? I also like to roll the tail a little and put it behind her head and tuck it in around the side to give her more head support, but I left it down for the photo so you could see her position better. I think this is the most comfortable I've gotten her in here. My back is starting to hurt though after 5-10 minutes 😕

tbirdlove I finished my training a few months ago (just in time for babywearing international to go bankrupt lol)! I think she looks good! You can try pulling the shoulder further away from your neck so it caps your shoulder more, that may make it a little more comfortable for you. At this age, sometimes they shift a little because they're so wobbly, tucking/rolling the tail in the top rail for head support like you're doing can help. Wrapping/tying the tail around the rings can also help if you feel like it's loosening over time.

Next time I'll try to cap the shoulder more like you suggested and see if that helps my back. I've been reaching for the SSC when needed cause I can get that on super quick, but this ring sling is so beautiful that I really want to use it more! And congratulations on finishing your training! I hope that BWI's bankruptcy doesn't keep you from being able to be an instructor for them or elsewhere - that's unfortunate timing.

I definitely prefer my shoulder more capped and pulled down. It really does help with everything feeling more balanced and less pain.
Also, you could always do legs out even with her young age. That could also help from her moving so much. A lot of times the squirm their body/legs inside there causing them to get more sideways.

I literally got my certificate and two weeks later we got news of the bankruptcy! Our local group has disaffiliated and become an independent group, so I'm still able to teach and we're finally starting up meetings again this month. We'll see if I make it to this weekend's meeting lol. It's definitely been a crash course in how to start a non-profit, luckily all the groups went through it together and could share resources. Some of the smaller BWI chapters decided to just close, but a lot of them went independent and will still educate and lend out carriers.

Good morning! I’m exhausted the H is sick and my baby won’t sleep unless on someone. She’s also fussing and punching while nursing... growth spurt? She 2 ish weeks old. I almost threw in the nursing towel yesterday. My goal is through November so I can start weaning before I go back to work in January.
Yesterday was just a super demanding day, I’m sore and tired. I had been feeling so good about it. It feels more comfortable this time than with M. But sometimes it’s taxing on me.

DS's 31 day insurance window was up on Saturday and for some reason he's not showing up on my insurance despite turning in the forms on 10/09. He has a pedi appt tomorrow and appts with Children's Pulmonary and Genetic Counseling on Wednesday and the benefits coordinator was out of the office today. I ugly cried then emailed her supervisor and her supervisor's supervisor (who likes me) to see what was up and admitted to having a post partum emotional breakdown. Good times.

Hugs ftwr. I swear that everything that has anything to do with insurance is stressful and a pain in the ass. I hope they get everything sorted out quickly. Even if things aren't 100% in place before your upcoming appts, you can always have any bills resubmitted to the insurance company later. I have to do this all. the. time.

Thanks, guys. I'll have to remember to have them resubmitted. Insurance is so stressful, especially when the policy holder is the one out on leave and the forms are 100% paper and have to be turned in on campus. Haaaate.
