It's been a bit since we have done a check in and I always love seeing the updates on how the babies are doing! 1. Age and Weight 2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? 3. How are they doing with food and bottles? 4. Any fun new milestones? 5. Anything you are worried about? 6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far?

1. He will be 8 months tomorrow, and weighs 21 lbs. Size 4 diapers and size 6-9 months for the most part. He has only gained 1 pound since his 6 month appointment- I think it's all the crawling and moving he does now!
2. He has STTN exactly 1 time- last week was the first! We are usually at 1 wakeup, sometimes 2. He is normally asleep by 8:15, and sleeps until 8:30 or so. I have been doing some form of sleep training I guess- if he cries in the middle of the night I typically wait at least 15 minutes or so to go in to him.
During the day, he takes two naps- usually one that is 2 hours and another that's 1.5 hours. Apparently he really likes sleep as he's been getting 15 hours or so a day? He won't sleep on me ever anymore though and it's making me so sad! He only sleeps in his crib, or his carseat if we are in the car.
3. He is eating 2 purees a day, and he loves them. I will probably up it to 3 this week. I'm also slooowly getting over my fear of choking and have been trying introducing foods like pancakes, eggs, soup, and cheese. He is drinking probably about 20 oz a day still....maybe slightly more. I am still breastfeeding but supplement with formula.
4. He crawls all over, is finally starting to babble and "bahhhs" all day long, and is starting to use things to pull himself up. He still doesn't like to situp- I know he can and he will do it occasionally, but he likes to be on his belly so much that he won't spend much time that way. He has 7 teeth.
5. How much should babies be babbling or talking at this point? I see posts of babies that are saying mama/dada already at this age and he does not seem anywhere remotely close yet.
6. So many things! I love what a happy baby he is and all his big smiles and giggles.

I love these! You’re so good about starting these threads! 1. Age and Weight: 8.5m 21lb, size 5 diapers and 12-18m clothes 2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night?: I hate talking about this, but she’s a great sleeper. She naps about 3-4hrs a day, split up between 2 naps. She puts herself right to sleep with her thumb. And this past week she’s been sleeping straight through the night from 630pm-715ish am. Before that, she was up about 1-2x/night. 3. How are they doing with food and bottles? She HATES purées. She will tolerate a pouch every once in a while, I think because it’s “fun” to suck it up rather than eat it from a spoon. But she will eat any real food we put in front her her. Last night she had chicken enchiladas and rice. She loves food. Still nursing a few times per day. She will have about 3-4 actual nursing sessions with a little snack in between. 4. Any fun new milestones? She is SO CLOSE to actually crawling. She’s able to get from point a to b, but not technically crawling yet. She can wave and say “bye bye” on demand. And clap. And she thinks it’s hilarious when I tell her to say “mama” to say “dada” 🙄😂 5. Anything you are worried about? Nope! Amazingly enough haha. 6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? I love seeing her personality fully coming out now. She has finally figured out that she has an opinion on things and it’s hilarious and so cute. She’s just so happy and the sweetest little thing. I’m obsessed with her.

pinkcat talking right now is insanely early. I don’t think dd1’s first word was until she was a year old. She would say “mamama “ and “dadadada” and “gagagaga “ all day long but it wasn’t with any meaning... it was purely babble. I think people sometimes get over zealous and think their kids are talking when they really aren’t.

Love check in threads!
1. She’ll be 8 months Thursday. One month ago she was 16lb 12oz and I don’t think she’s too much bigger now cause she’s on the move.
2. She takes 2 naps. Normally between 1-1.5 hrs each give or take. We still can’t get her to stay up past 6:15pm 🤷🏻♀️ she normally sleeps up to 12 hours with 2 wake ups to eat.
3. She has majorly cut back on formula and eats 3 real meals plus snacks. She loves food.
4. She’s pulling herself up on anything she can. So cute cause she’s still so tiny.
5. No worries
6. My favorite thing about her is just how content and overall happy she is. She has such a different personality than her older sister yet they mesh so well.

But she’s not actually saying anything. DD1 and 2 were both around 10 or 11 months before they gave anything meaning.

1. Age and Weight 8.5 months, 19lbs 11oz, 29.5” at his 8 month appointment
2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? We weaned him off his overnight bottle a week or two ago and he is pretty much sleeping through the night. Sometimes will wake up and whine, but if we leave him, he falls back asleep. Naps are still all over the place. Sometimes 30 min, less often they are 3 hours, usually 2 or 3 naps.
3. How are they doing with food and bottles? Pretty good at eating a variety of things, some purées, bite size pieces of breads, chicken, all sorts of stuff. Still lots of formula, 800-1000ml per day on top of a lot solids.
4. Any fun new milestones? He is on the move! Lots of crawling, pulling up on everything. He can walk around the coffee table and walk behind his little walker.
5. Anything you are worried about? He still won’t put any food in his mouth himself. His doctor told me not to worry about it but I probably still will a bit until it happens.
6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? He’s so damn happy! All smiles, giggles and lots of fun.

Oh and he babbles a lot too. He tends to say dadadada more when he’s happy and mamamamama when he’s upset or tired. I’m pretty sure he has no idea what he’s saying.

1. He will be 9mo this weekend! He was 18lbs at his 6mo checkup. According to me standing on the scale he is probably 20-21lbs. 2. He naps 2x a day, in the morning for about an hour (but he is currently attempting a boycott of this one) and afternoon for 2-3 hours. He sleeps fine at night usually, from 7pm-7am waking once around 3-4am to nurse. 3. He is nursing 4x during the day (about every 4 hours) and once overnight. Loooves food and eats three meals. We quit purées altogether last week and he loves the real food. Eats pretty much everything we put in front of him! 4. He is crawling like a madman which is so fun. Super chatty and I do think he says “mama” and means it (he only says it when he looks at me haha). He plays really well with DD (3.5yo) now and will copy things she does. 5. Nope! 6. He is seriously so much fun. So relaxed and chill compared to DD. His eyes sparkle so much and he is the sweetest baby.

Haiiii! I miss y'all! 1. Age and Weight: 8 months, I have no idea on weight since we haven't seen the pedi since 6 months and he was 16.5 lbs then. I think he's probably close to 20 now...? 2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? AMAZING! He has been STTN since around 6/6.5 months - 7:45pm-6:45/7am. He takes 2 naps. The morning one is usually an hour and the afternoon ranges from 1.5-2 hours. 3. How are they doing with food and bottles? He was slow going on the food train but now he's obsessed. We do a combo of table food and pouches. 3 meals a day. 4. Any fun new milestones? He is super physical and is close to walking. He cruises, runs with the walker, and is standing on his own. He hasn't taken a step on his own yet, but I bet it's close. He looooves to crawl fast after his brother. 5. Anything you are worried about? He's had a constant runny nose for awhile. Finally started him on Zyrtec and I think it might be helping (He's only had 3 days of it). 6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? He is SO happy! Everyone who meets him comments on how smiley and happy he is. )

1. Age and Weight - 9.5 months - no clue on weight. At her 6 mo appointment she was 17lbs 7oz. I'm guessing at least 20 lbs.
2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? Good! Up until 6 months she was up every 3 hours like clockwork then something clicked. She now sleeps from 8pm-6:30/7am with no wake ups. During the day she usually takes an hour nap in the morning and an hour nap in the afternoon max. On the weekends she naps longer than at daycare.
3. How are they doing with food and bottles? Okay. She has decreased her formula by like 30% in the past few weeks and is still eating 3 purees and some of whatever we are having food wise. She still doesn't have any teeth so we haven't tried anything harder than a puff.
4. Any fun new milestones? She still isn't crawling but it close. She can get all around the room by army crawling or rolling though. And she loves to stand while holding our fingers. She is so proud of herself when she does that.
5. Anything you are worried about? Its hard not to compare her milestones to DD1's who got teeth at 5 months and crawled at 7 months. The girls are getting flu shots on friday so I hope the doctor can take a better look in her mouth to see if there is anything about to come through.
6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? Her smile. Her whole face lights up and it's adorable. And she is so laid back. Her sister is all over the place so we are lucky that she doesn't need constant attention and enjoys just watching her sister be crazy.

1. Age and Weight: she’ll be 9 months on Friday. If I had to guess on weight I’d say 14.5 pounds or less. We had one month of a good gain and now she’s stalled out again.
2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? She sleeps roughly 7:30-7:30 with one wake up. My alarm is set for 4:30 to wake her then if she hasn’t gotten up on her own. Look forward to when we don’t have to do that! She takes two naps, usually a little over an hour to two hours each.
3. How are they doing with food and bottles? She nurses 6 times a day though it’s getting harder and harder to get her to stay latched for any length of time. So curious and so busy! She loves purees, puffs, and yogurt melts, and we’ve dabbled in pancakes and eggs. But she keeps getting constipated.
4. Any fun new milestones? She claps! That’s fun. We’re also working on getting her to throw her arms in the air when we say touchdown. Lol. Everyone needs a good party trick.
5. Anything you are worried about? I’m paranoid about her growth. And her gross motor skills are over a month behind where her sisters were. But she is progressing and growing. Just slowly. So I’m trying to be ok with it. She can army crawl and roll to get around a room. She sits unassisted and will try to pull to stand, but can’t support herself or figure out how to adjust her legs. She did finally figure out how to jump in the jumperoo!
6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? She’s a mama’s girl, but other than that she is so so easy going. My little angel baby. She’s the best rainbow baby and caboose I could have ever asked for. I’m so incredibly grateful she’s here.

1. She’s 8.5 months, and based on my home scale about 17lbs.
2. Sleep is not amazing. She’s usually up about 4 times. This past week there were a couple nights that she only woke up twice, so that was nice. She takes two naps - one 30 minutes, the other 2.5 hours. Or she’ll mix it up and only sleep 30 minutes each time. You know, to keep it interesting. 😅
3. We don’t do purees, just small pieces of food she can pick up. Her favorite is banana, but she also loves tomato sauce on pasta, zucchini, strawberries, plain yogurt, oatmeal pancakes. She’ll eat anything I give her, but doesn’t eat a ton of it. I think she’s doing well with food. Still nursing regularly.
4. She finally got some teeth! 4 broke through in just the past few days. And she’s still not crawling, but just yesterday started rocking on her knees a little bit, and pulling herself up from sitting to kneeling.
5. Not really worried! I’m aware of her being a little slow to crawl, but she gets around by rolling very effectively. I’m sure she’ll get there.
6. I think I have to say the same as most people here (which is great!), in that she is so so smiley, happy and easy going. Even when she’s upset about something, a little song and dance and she’s beaming and laughing. She’s such a joy.

1. 8 months Thursday. Last time I weighed him at home he was 15 lbs 2 oz 2. He sleeps 8-5:15 typically although I’ve noticed him falling asleep earlier. Naps I don’t really know about because he does them at daycare and on the weekends we’re typically gone so it’s naps in the car 3. Still nurses 3 times a day and eats 3 4 oz bottles. He’s gotten into ouches lately and I’d love to move him off puréed to chunks but he gets frustrated with no teeth. Somehow I have to get variety in him though because he eats the same things all the time. 4. He can fully crawl and can pull himself up and walk around things he’s holding onto. 5. Anything you are worried about? His size always is in the back of my head. I also worry about him eating and not getting enough variety. 6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? I absolutely love his smiles, especially when he smiles at DS1.

1. 8.5 months, ~18 pounds the last time I weighed her, but that's been a while now. 2. Ha. Hoo boy. She's a frequent nap refuser with the nanny. Too much FOMO. She will nap, on me, on the weekend. Sleep training at night has been a mixed bag. We get a good rhythm going and then H comes home and plays the saboteur and we regress. 3. Chows down on her purees most of the time. She LOVES to feed herself, although it's hard to say how much is actually consumed vs being snuck to the dog. 4. She's really nailed crawling and pulling up, and is just starting to cruise on the furniture. She keeps getting her feet twisted up though and there have been a couple gnarly falls and blood curdling screams that follow. 5. Will I ever sleep again? 6. She is just so delightful, I'm beside myself most days.

1. Age and Weight: Teddy turned 8 months on 10/4. He's a beast at 24 lbs 3 oz. and 31". 2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? He mostly sleeps fine (with me). Though lately he's been stirring more often due to congestion. He caught a cold from me. 3. How are they doing with food and bottles? 95% breastfed. I'll feel him off my plate here and there and he eats from those pouches on occasion, but he is mostly still primarily breastfed. 4. Any fun new milestones? Negative interest in crawling. He's cruising, though. He says several words on a regular-ish basis. It's cute. 5. Anything you are worried about? Nope. 6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? He's such a chill, sweet, goofy baby. We can already tell his personality is more introverted.

I think people sometimes get over zealous and think their kids are talking when they really aren’t. I mean, I get this, but all five of my kids talked well before a year, though some said fewer words than others. The words they used regularly definitely had meaning. "Nuh-nuh" has been my code word for nurse since having my first, and they all used it in the correct context when they wanted to nurse. By 7 months, if they were in my arms, hands were down my shirt when they said it, or they reached for me while saying it, or they said it when tired or irritable. Teddy has zero interest in crawling. Loathes being on his tummy and just has a "why bother" attitude about it. My almost 9-year-old son was crawling by 6 months, cruising at 7.5 and walking independently at 9.5, but he "only" had a handful of words in his vocabulary by a year. His sisters had far more. His gross motor development came earlier than his other siblings. In Teddy's case, so far, his gross motor skills have developed later than all of his siblings, but his language development is on par with two of his sisters at the same age. Like with a lot of things, there's a definite range of what's normal.

1. Age and Weight 9 months this week! Not sure on official weight, will find out next Tues at her checkup. I’d assume over 20 lbs by now.
2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? This has taken a good turn recently since switching to formula and me being able to find a feeding routine for naps and between school pickups and drop offs. She will typically nap twice a day for 1-2 hours each and often is close to sleeping through the night, H often gets up around once or maybe twice just for a little cuddle if she can’t settle back down.
3. How are they doing with food and bottles? She’s a food and bottle monster. No issues or concerns there, lol!
4. Any fun new milestones? She’s clapping, waving, I noticed she says “Mamama” a lot when she wants to get picked up so I’m not sure how intentional it is but she seems to be thinking she needs to pick up some language to be heard in the group of 3 lol! Much more playful and imitating some toy play she sees her big sibs do which is really cool. Much less shy around people again and starting to be ok with people other than me again.
5. Anything you are worried about? Nope. She’s pretty easy peasy lol.
6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? She’s so laid back, no problems lugging her around everywhere haha. I think what I enjoy most is third and last time around, even when dealing with some PPA, I appreciate all her stages so much more and can relax with the fun stuff. She’s a very happy baby!!

My post above also states that my 8m old is saying “bye bye”... so while I know babies CAN talk well before a year, I also know it is not the norm. I have seen a fair share of people posting all over social media videos of their babies clearly babbling away being all “OHMYGOD my kid is talking!!”

Of course there will be a baby here or there that can talk at 8 Months, but that baby is an outlier and should not be taken as the norm!! And I think Arden can recognize words such as mama and dada, and looks toward the appropriate person. But when she’s babbling it, it is just babble.

1. Age and Weight - 9.5 mo 24 lb 12 oz (98%), 30 in tall (95%) 2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? Day is predictable 2 naps. Night is a toss up. He's teething hardcore. We still share a room an lately 3 am has been party time...... I want to move him in with DS1 but don't want him to ruin his sleep either 3. How are they doing with food and bottles? LOVES table food and pouches (why didn't I try this with DS1????) I'm down to one pump per day so he's getting more formula and handling it well. 4. Any fun new milestones? he's cruising furniture and toys like a champ. He can walk with finger assistance. 5. Anything you are worried about? we are having ear tubes placed this week. Not extremely worrisome but we've had so many medical bills 6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? I feel so much more at ease so I feel like I'm enjoying him more than I did at DS1 at this age. I love his independence, his smile and all typical mom things to say. He's our last so it's all bittersweet.

1. Age and Weight
7.5m and not sure on weight. She's in size 4 diapers and we are just out growing 6-12mo now so we're in 12mo or 12-18mo clothes. They're not too big thankfully. Her legs are shorter than her body - like her sister!
ETA; I weighed her with me today and she’s about 19lbs. Wow. Em was this size at like 5mo. Craaaaazy.
2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night?
Meh...
3. How are they doing with food and bottles?
Liv LOVES food. She's killing it.
4. Any fun new milestones?
She crawls! She babbles mama and dada. She likes to stand and can pull herself up.
5. Anything you are worried about?
If I'll ever sleep again 😅
6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far?
I'm more relaxed. It's so nice to enjoy and not be so anxious. STM benefits!

1. Age and Weight She will be 8 months on the 24th. I’m not positive on weight but probably around 19 lbs or so. She’s in 6-12 month or 12 month but the 12 month pants are mostly two long.
2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? Naps have always been and still are horrible. She’s mostly a power napper with the occasional 1-1.5 thrown in there somewhere. Nights have been hit or miss lately. She’s had some super bad ones and then a few she’s slept all the way through.
3. How are they doing with food and bottles? She loves food and does really well with purées. We’re starting to give her more of the food we eat and she loves everything. She only gets bottles when I’m at work and does fine with them.
4. Any fun new milestones? She’s sitting up by herself and scooting on her butt.
5. Anything you are worried about? Not moving a whole lot on her belly and not babbling consonants yet. I know they both will come.
6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? She’s a pretty happy baby and I love her smiles and watching her with her brother. I’m trying to enjoy all stages since this is definitely our last.

Ok. He had his appointment today so I can play now.
1) He is 20lbs 4oz he is 29 1/2 inches tall and wears 12m clothes. He will be moving up a size shortly.
2)At night he sleeps fine. Usually he will sleep until at least 6. Sometimes he is up a little earlier. Occasionally he will sleep until almost 7. He takes two naps. The first is around 9am and it lasts anywhere from 45min to 1 hour 15 minutes. It can be as short as a half hour though. His afternoon nap is around 1 and lasts about an hour and a half most days but has gone longer than 2 hours.
3)little man loves to eat! He gets breakfast lunch and dinner and it’s a combo of chunky purées and whatever we are eating. More often than not it’s what we are eating. He was taking 4 bottles a day but I have the ok from the dr to drop his mid afternoon bottle. He hasn’t been finishing it and he doesn’t cry for it. He lasts until dinner just fine without it. It will save me money too.
4)Nothing super new in milestones at the moment. He crawls like crazy. He is close to pulling up to stand. He definitely understands the word no and he babbles pretty cutely.
5)I don’t worry about things until I read what’s going on with the babies on this bored. 🤦🏻♀️. The dr isn’t concerned but he isn’t pulling up to stand completely yet. He is one of the older babies so I get worried he is behind.
6)My favorite thing about this baby so far is that he is my last and I am almost done with the baby stage. I know that makes me sound terrible but I like toddlers that I can talk to and color with and stuff. He is sweet and cute and super cuddly which is awesome. G has only become cuddly with me in the last year or so.

1. Age and Weight-about 8 1/2 months, she will be 9 months on 11/6
2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night?-daytime is sometimes really crappy at day care (today she napped 35 minutes TOTAL there) but she is showing signs of improvement, daytime at home is fine with 2 naps usually at least 40 min sometimes an hour-an hour and a half; nights are all over the place, sometimes she'll sleep until 5:30, some nights she is up 2-3 times; bedtime is usually around 6:30-7, she is usually exhausted by then and ready for bed!
3. How are they doing with food and bottles? great with food, we only have her self-feed at home and she has liked everything we've given her! favorites include bananas, beans, toast with hummus; we are still nursing a ton, she does fine with bottles as far as I know
4. Any fun new milestones?-her crawl is (according to my nephew) like a "monkey with a broken leg," but damn she is fast; she's also getting close to walking! I started hearing some different sounds when she was babbling tonight too
5. Anything you are worried about? one foot slightly turns in sort of, but I think DS was like that too; still not sure if she can handle dairy
6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? -she is a cuddly little thing and so laid back, we rarely hear her cry

1. Age and Weight 1 year (9m adjusted) 19-20 lbs 2. How are they sleeping during the day, and at night? His sleep sucks all around. Both boys are sharing a room now so I am a little reluctant to sleep train (again). I will have to soon if he doesn’t get his act together, I am losing my mind. 3. How are they doing with food and bottles? He loves food! Thank goodness. DS1 didn’t eat well and it was very stressful. My BFF in WA is mailing me my bm soon and once that happens I will completely wean him from the breast. 4. Any fun new milestones? He waves, claps and high fives! Says mama, bapa (papa), hey and shakes his head no. He’s still just army crawling but he can go everywhere! He’s not pulling up to stand or cruising yet. Once we get new insurance in place I’ll get him back in PT. 5. Anything you are worried about? I try not to worry about the small stuff. I am happy with how far he’s come! 6. What's your favorite thing about this baby so far? He is such a happy baby and easy for the most part!
