Hello all! First time posting on this particular board. I've been on TB and TCF previously. I have a DD that just turned 4 and a DS that will be 2 in Sept. I work as a legal assistant so I'm stuck at a desk most of the day.
I have finally commuted to a healthy lifestyle for well, my health. I'm looking at doing Whole 30 for July and then moving on to GAPS this fall. I currently eat horribly and my body shows it. Excess fat, inflammation, bloating, pain, out of whack hormones, the whole nine yards. I need a change so:
What are your resources for healthy eating/living? Books? Blogs? Groups?

Welcome!! I like skinnytaste cookbook a lot. I usually search whole 30, paleo, or vegan recipes to try!
I haven't actually enter it yet but check out whole life challenge. I'm going to join in September and really looking forward to it. There's a thread here you can get the vibe of it from.

My path to wellness started with W30. I know some people think it's bunk, but it totally shifted my focus in regards to food, making me more aware not only what I was putting in my body but also how my body reacted to what I was feeding it. If you are serious about doing it I highly recommend the book. I have since transitioned to counting macros, which is a learning process for me. I like it because it allows for some flexibility in what I eat while also creating a calorie deficit so I can drop body fat.

ETA: as far as groups I follow IIFYM and Avatar nutrition on FB, as well as a few local personal trainers.

I'm trying to find a used copy of the W30 book but haven't been about to get one yet. I guess I'll go check ebay or amazon soon. I love books but hate paying full price for them.

I've found very helpful and practical advice/information in The Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. It's a resource you can read in short sessions and return to again and again. I first read it several years ago and still return to certain chapters/sections. I hope you find it as useful and empowering as I have.
