Infant, Toddler, and Preschooler Check-in (10/3)

Milestones:

Challenges: carving out one on one time. Tonight he wanted me to do bedtime routine, he always prefers dad ... breaks my heart I can’t be more involved with him right now.

Funny/cute stories: he’s about 4 weeks into school and is so proud of himself for knowing most of his classmates names, it’s cute to see his joy in that and preschool in general

QOTW: What are you doing for you right now? I take a shower everyday no matter what. I need it to feel sane right now.

Age: 13+ months

Milestones: he says doggy! He looked at DH and said Dada. He won’t look at me and say mama though 😭 also, mostly STTN. He might wake up, cry out, cry for a few min, but we leave him alone and he figures it out and falls back asleep.

Challenges: he learned to shriek from his play date friend 😒 and he bites me and dh when he’s really mad / upset. So not cool.

Funny/cute stories: he loves babies and dogs. He sees a baby and he runs up to the stroller and wants to touch - we don’t let him actually touch unless it’s our friends kid- and he’s so gentle with them and smiley. He also is obsessed with dogs and yells doggy every time he sees one and when allowed, pets them and tries to hug them and loves getting licked in the face (so gross lol)

How are you? Ok. Tired. Work has been really tough lately. Several of sad, depressing cases that make me cry when I get home. Then I have to go back the next day and take care of the babies again.

Anything else? Does anyone use a car seat protector to protect the leather seat from the car seat? My nanny wants to use one for her car and it makes me nervous but dh seems indifferent.

QOTW: What are you doing for you right now? Well I want to get a massage this weekend and go bra shopping. Now that I’ve fully weaned from pumping and it’s been a few weeks my boobies are small and sad and need a bra that fits. I’ve been wearing sports bras the last two weeks and it’s not a good solution for much longer haha.

Challenges:tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants

Funny/cute stories: we went to the apple orchard last weekend. She loved going seeing the sheep she was shrieking and so happy. She loved seeing the animals there so much.

Anything else? What type of jacket is best to get to put her in a car seat with. I want something a bit more than a hoodie but something I can keep on her in her car seat.

QOTW: What are you doing for you right now? I am researching into gym memberships.
