My old house had a wide-ish and VERY shallow linen closet.
My new has a linen closet the width of a standard door and the depth of a proper closet.
I haven't quite worked out a way to organize it that works.
If you have a deep linen closet, how do you organize it?
I was thinking of using baskets and doing two deep, making it easier to get to the "second row" of stuff. But finding baskets the exact right height, width and depth is a project for which I don't have bandwidth right now.

Mine is a disaster. I started out having it organized where the stuff for that season (flannel sheets versus cotton, holiday tablecloths/napkins/hand towels versus regular, etc.) would be in the front and everything else would be in the back, but now I just hunt and dig for what I need and put things where they fit. I need to reorganize it.

I bought some plastic bins in different sizes to sort things by season and function. Then I can pull the bin I need out to get what I need.
So I’m clearly really tired. I read baskets as blankets...and I was very confused how you would use blankets to organize. Going to bed now.

I wish I had a linen closet! All I have is one tub in the top of my closet and one under my bed. 😭

My linen closet is a disaster. Every system I try is a fail. Mostly because I lazy.

Also a disaster here. I've grown up and lived with people who always just folded...never occurred to me to do baskets. I dislike how lopsided and messy it looksas I have it, esp. when I stuff the winter comforters in there. One sheet set I don't keep in the cabinet is rolled into a pillow case that's part of the set. I like that system, but we have a lot of mismatched stuff.

Mine is not pretty, but I used basically any container I had that was close to the right size. I have Amazon boxes, baskets, shoe boxes and a couple of wooden boxes/crates. I attached labels (or just wrote on things like the shoe boxes). Anything the kids or guests are likely to need are up front. Our king size sheets, holiday towels- to the back they went.
It's been a month and it's still organized. If it sticks a little longer, I might buy something prettier for it.

I'm embarrassed to post mine. I know I'm extra. Let me see if I have pics.

How bout turning the shelves into drawers or roll out shelves, like people do with the deep kitchen cabinets? I've done that with some of the shelves in the house sort of by putting a large single plastic drawer on the shelf I've also taken to folding some things very long and skinny or rolling them up so you can see the ends of them. Instead of folding things up into smaller squares to stack them up.
