Morning, not much new here. N seemed fine yesterday so she's back at school. I need to be productive today bc October is going to be bananas.. moving the weekend before Halloween, which is basically tomorrow. And we are visiting my sister this weekend, so no packing will start until the following weekend. Oh my gosh! That is so soon! flamingo gave me really awesome tips for packing. The thing that saved me the most was putting drawers of utensils in gallon Ziploc bags after I washed and dried them. I ended up doing the same thing with small kids toys like Legos and figurines. And even for things like markers and crayons. Tremendous timesaver! Because I just did it, I’m happy to help (well l, with advice)if I can. Our move was pretty smooth and we were unpacked in a matter of days. Great tips!! I will take all the tips! We haven't moved really ever..3 years ago we moved one floor down within our building, it was not the most organized move, but didn't need to be since we could just run between floors.

tallb you can also put coordinating sheets inside a pillow case. That way you don’t have to rematch when you get there

tallb, As well as the labeling what room the box was going to (with a coordinating piece of colored duct tape to make it easier for the movers. flamingo, I think this also came from you.) I meticulously labeled the outside of the box with the contents. It didn’t take very long, but made it so much easier when I was looking for specific things to unpack in each room.

tallb you can also leave your clothes on hangers and just put them in trash bags and use them like garment bags. That way you don’t waste time by in hanger-ing and re-hanger-ing

Cadence had a dentist appointment. She has 1 cavity we need to go ahead and remove and 1 we are still just watching. We were able to successfully get xrays today, so that was good. We scheduled the filling for next month, but if something opens up they will give me a call. If she does well with the first one, then they are going to go ahead and fill the one we were watching as well, rather than having to do the whole process again down the road.
And, as if she isn't growing up fast enough, her 2 bottom teeth are already loose and ready to fall out. Seriously, kid? SLOW DOWN!

flamingo, you wash your linens again after unpacking from a box? I have never done that. tallb I pride myself in my moving and packing abilities as well. I make sure to label a box on two sides so movers can tell where it goes easier, even if it is stacked. (you are getting movers, right?) I also leave clothes on hangers and usually box them in regular boxes. Most of the hangers stay in place. The kitchen is the worst, IMO, because things are awkwardly shaped and breakable. I would start there if you can and just keep the few things you will need out. This way you don't burn out before getting to it. I always buy an huge thing of bubble wrap from Amazon and use that between plates and fragile items. I also try to utilize things like dishtowels or other linens for cushioning to save money and space. Kids rooms last. Most stuff is soft and doesn't need care and it will be less transition for them. Can anyone watch the kids the day you move and the day after? We brought C to my in laws and it was perfect. It also made us get our butts in gear to unpack quickly.

Did she know they were loose or did the dentist tell you?

I knew it was coming. At her last dentist appt 6 months ago they were able to get front teeth xrays and the teeth were already pushing on the babies and they said it would be soon. When I was brushing her teeth the other night I noticed one of them wiggled a bit. Mh didn't believe me. The dentist confirmed it. AHHHHHH! I'm not ready! Luckily picture day is tomorrow and not in a month or 2. LOL

We have movers on a Friday...so unpacking may be us taking shifts with the kids or sending them to a friend's house to knock stuff out. Yeah kids rooms will be last packed and first unpacked so that it is as similar as possible. We will keep them in the same room at first as well so they are together. sands42 I def want to throw out basically everything 😂 We are moving about 3 miles away, but feels like cross country. We are really feeling sad about leaving our areas but it's only 10-15 min drive to come back, lol. Starting to think about these are the lasts of certain things. We are such saps, it's going to be a rough one getting through this. We moved into our building when we were just dating 11 years ago!

I agree about boxes for clothing, but our movers provided us with wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes. They were able to give them to us all set up the Saturday before the move (a Monday)and I hung what I could from the auxiliary closets (mostly the walk-in in the basement, the kids’ closets and the coat closets). The day of the move they came with more wardrobe boxes and put the clothes from the master bedroom closets in there.
The other things that helped, but more for peace of mind than necessity was amedium sized Tupperware container with Advil and Benadryl for grown-ups and kids, Band-Aids, a screwdriver, some WD-40, wipes, mini tissues, paper towels, and a vinegar and water spray bottle. We also did a duffel bag that had a change of clothes for everyone, plus the pajamas for the kids, 2 books to read before bedtime and their buddies (what we call lovies). The previous owners of this current house were gracious and left paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, a brand new clean hand towel and liquid soap in the bathrooms, but I don’t know if that’s a guarantee everywhere.

She calls it her gold tooth even though it isn't gold. lol M does, too! It's on her top next to the last tooth. So her 1st molar. I'd like to say you can't see it, but you can still see it. Her next crown is also her first molar but it's on the bottom. I'm going to go ahead an pay extra for the porcelain one.
