trtlcrzy Thanks for the dress suggestion! That is really cute. Unfortunately, she's in a 6x or 7, but I think I'll check Old Navy out on my lunch or after work.

Morning! S had a really great day at school yesterday. They said she was happy and bounced around and played well. I told them this was my real child. I didn’t think they’d seen my “real” child since the school year started because she had such a rough start between seizures, an upper respiratory infection, and then the Dystonia. She still can’t use her right hand, but she’s not in any pain thanks to the meds. I’m going to get a keratin treatment today and my eyelashes tinted. I wish I would’ve scheduled a massage too. Oh well. I'm glad she's doing better and she's not in any pain.

Morning, not much new here. N seemed fine yesterday so she's back at school. I need to be productive today bc October is going to be bananas.. moving the weekend before Halloween, which is basically tomorrow. And we are visiting my sister this weekend, so no packing will start until the following weekend.

lfig glad she is doing well! That must make you feel better about your upcoming trip! mwhip I may be an outlier here but I don't think kids that age need to be super funeral appropriate. I mean I wouldn't put her in a rainbow dress or anything, but I wouldn't think anything if she was just wearing regular toddler clothes. For my boys, I would probably just do khakis or dark pants and a polo shirt.

jewels I'll definitely buy something she can wear again. Unfortunately, all of her dresses are pretty bright colored, or tank style, although I could possibly just find a cardigan to go over them. She doesn't have any nice pants either. She's pretty much 100% of the time dressed for play.

Hi all! It's been a month since I checked in. My bad. It's been a busy month. chrisy01, get better soon! mwhip, I'm so sorry for your family's loss. Finding out on Facebook is no good. trtlcrzy, happy anniversary!!! So. My month. That job I applied for didn't come through. There was a mix up in HR, and she didn't know I had applied until after she'd started the hiring process with someone else. However, she wants me to work remotely on a few projects and has said she'd like to use me in another position sometime next year. We'll see. I'm not going to stop looking at other options. In other news, our second son is losing his hearing, and it's been sudden. We had a scary day yesterday ruling out a brain tumor. He's never had a great memory, but it's seemed particularly off lately, so they ordered a rush MRI. Thankfully he's okay! Meanwhile he's had other testing, and we'll get those results sometime in the next week. He'll need hearing aids, but at least he'll be able to hear again. My closest friend locally had her baby on Friday at 35 weeks because of pre eclampsia. She asked me to stay in the delivery room which was a first, but it was pretty cool seeing what happens from a different perspective. Baby girl is doing fabulously. I can't even believe how well she's doing. No inventions necessary whatsoever. Nursing like a champ, holding her temp, etc. They're holding her for observation, but she's ready to go home when my friend does. BP is still problematic, though. So I think that's it! Hope you're all well.

The thing that saved me the most was putting drawers of utensils in gallon Ziploc bags after I washed and dried them. I ended up doing the same thing with small kids toys like Legos and figurines. And even for things like markers and crayons. Tremendous timesaver! Because I just did it, I’m happy to help (well l, with advice)if I can. Our move was pretty smooth and we were unpacked in a matter of days.

P.S. We also got a car. We've wanted a mini Cooper for forever. I'm in love. Head over heels. The girls love having a "minicar" in the family and think it's just their size.

But a cute cardigan would be a good addition that you could probably use again! Good luck!!

ladystrat, congratulations on the car. I’m sorry about the job. That’s a real bummer. What is going on with your son sounds super scary. I’m glad they were able to get him in for a speedy MRI. Hoping you get some information soon.

Not sure what you’re timing is for anything, but primary has some very simple dark colored clothing that could work for a funeral but then could transition to play clothes very easily for the future.

Hoping you get some information soon. Thanks. We're all doing...okay with it. He has his moments which are understandable, but on Sunday I grabbed a hearing device for him at church, and he was THRILLED to be able to hear again. I think that helped him accept the idea of hearing aids a lot better. And honestly, after thinking it might be a tumor, this seems much more manageable than it did!

I use so many big ziplocks when we move...contents of drawers, kitchen stuff, even underwear/socks and accessories. I also get the big plastic zipper and space saver bags for linens and towels so I don’t have to wash everything on the back end. tallb I actually have a pdf I created recently (nothing fancy) with packing tips if you’re interested. I was asked for advice by several younger (less seasoned, ha) women in my H’s command so I typed something up. LMK if you’re interested and I can pm it to you.
