That’s a beautiful location!
This also reminds me I need to book ours.

I like the bright colors, but I'm not sure about the shininess of the velvet for pictures? Otherwise, I really like everything you picked out in A.

I like the muted colors bc I feel like the dark blue and dark green will blend too much into the foliage.

Can you google pics of other people that have had their photo taken there and see if brights or muted works better? I tempted to lean bright, but maybed muted would suit the location better?

I like the bright colours - I think, like you mention, the bright colour photos just weren't appropriately coordinated. I like what you're going for in the bright, charming but some sophistication to it as well. I especially love the velvet. I wouldn't go any brighter than the palate you put together.
I think it will give you what I think you're looking for - to not blend in with the background - but not clash with it either.

@heartbot, I think I'm leaning more muted then. That second pic with the muted colors that blend into the background seems like it has some weird filter on it or particularly bad lighting day. I think you can make whatever work, though!

I like the bright colors better. Which set feels more "you"?

Definitely muted based on the location and the photographers style.
But I do also like option A if you chose something in place of the striped sweater.

You can't go wrong with what you've picked for either option.
You do you.

They are both good. Why are we treating photo outfit selection like a stand alone art? Especially since so many people do family pics yearly? Trust, in 2034 any outfits you wear will look ridiculous, matching or not eta: gussie I did not mean to tag you here! Fat fingers.

I would do muted but switch your H's sweater to the yellow one in the bright.

I lurked the bright until I saw the pictures/examples. Now I’d say muted, but I worry that color for your H is too muted.

I like A but put you in the dress from B. I’m assuming the last dress in both options is you?

I like A but put you in the dress from B. I’m assuming the last dress in both options is you? I agree. I think the brights you've chosen are more fall-ish colors than the example pics, which will look really nice in that setting. I love the maroon dress and it would work well with the rest.

I would do muted. I’d maybe add some creams and beiges in there, I think muted neutrals would actually pop pretty well against that background.
