I don’t have real plans yet. N did decide she wants a “flamingo” party. It would be fun to have that theme at an indoor pool, but 5yo might be a little young for that. Or Our basement will be done by then so we could have it at the house and invite family and a few friends like last year. Or we could also rent the little children’s museum here like we did for her 3rd birthday and invite more friends. I’m clearly very undecided I love a flamingo party! Just love it!! Me too! I know someone who had a flamingo party and called it a "flamingle" So cute.

N went to one last week but it was for her friend’s older brother. She loved it so I’m sure she’d love to have hers there. But the only option we have here is a small hotel pool so it’s not too exciting, but it’s something!

I think swimming parties will always be an anxiety point for me until Cadence is proficient enough that she no longer needs the puddle jumper, which by the way, whats the weight limit on those?

Does anyone have a quick online source for printing invitations? I need to include the link to the waiver and it would be better to type it. I also hate handwriting. I should probably get these out in a week or so.

I should probably get these out in a week or so. You could probably do them through a place like Walmart, staples or Walgreens. I have done Shutterfly in the past.

I think I found some on Vistaprint and can get them by Friday. My plan is to get them out 10/9.

Resurrecting this thread...
So I'd been thinking of one of those indoor play places for a party, then had the bright idea of mini golf and suggested it to B. Naturally he loved the idea. In theory, I do too...less expensive, easier to keep track of everyone, etc. BUT i worry about the weather. Average temp here that time of year is 60ish (daytime high). The golf place has an indoor facility for pizza, cake, etc.
What do y'all think? Is that too chilly? Of course it could be colder...or warmer, theoretically.
I know the extreme north-dwelling people are probably laughing their heads off at this right now...

flamingo I think the temp would be fine, I just worry about rain Yeah, I thought of that too, although statistically it's a pretty dry month here. IDK. I guess it's no different than if we had a pool party or something at a park, there is always a risk. The control freak in me is a bit balky but I do think putt putt would be fun. Hmm...

flamingo That would be really cute and I think you should go for it. Maybe just have a backup plan in case the weather is extreme?

I had no clue this was a thing, but I just googled and we do apparently have one--also blacklight. Bad thing is, it's down in the tourist district at the oceanfront, which is a haul. Also, just the photos on the website alone are hurting my eyes, I wonder how I would do over the course of a birthday party, lol. I guess we could go and check it out in person and see what it's like. Thanks for the tip!

I decided on the 11th, and Josie has changed her mind to rainbows. I’m keeping with it bc it’s cute, easy to decorate, and it’s a consistent favorite. Now I have to decide on food and find someone to make a cake!

Super easy rainbow cake: make box mixes, pour into separate little bowls, color with food coloring, either pour each color in their own pan or do a tie dye where you pour each color into one pan. Frost with vanilla and use rainbow sprinkles to make a sprinkle cake.

We didn't do a party for jack. We just didn't have time so I'm thinking we'll do a joint birthday party since they both want Halloween themes. I might have it at the pumpkin patch that we love.

I thought about this, but I don’t want the stress of it for the party I was planning on making my carrot cake (probably my only tried and true) on her actual birthday, but maybe I’ll try this. I don’t care if it’s a little messy for just us.

Our invites came in so I will pass them out Tuesday. We have 28 people on the list so I upped it to a 20 kid party vs a 10 since I have a handful of guaranteed yes kids.
I still feel bad not inviting everyone. It felt icky going through the school list with C about who he wanted. But I can’t afford all 32 kids plus family friends so it is what it is.

For S party they only let kids 3 and up participate. I will have B there (obviously) and his BFF's little sister who will have just turned 2. I will also have 2 young 3 year olds who may or may not participate. There is a parent viewing area and I thought I would set up something for the handful of little ones to keep them entertained. Any idea for something quick and easy?
