Hi. I'm here. My little lady popped a tooth yesterday. This would explain her gdamn screaming at me overnight the few days prior. But it's so tiny and almost see through, I nearly missed it.
I'm ready for lunch but have to wait until at least 11:30 when the caf opens. Problems of waking at 5:30 and eating breakfast at 6am.
What's going on in everyone else's world today?
Edit lol she "popped" a tooth, not pooped one

I've been having difficulties putting J down for his first nap of the day. He has been fighting it. I'm not really sure if I need to start widening his awake time window (currently at 2ish hours) to 3 hours or if he's just working on perfecting his new skill (crawling) and his brain won't shut off.

Morning ladies. I took the day off today because C has two appointments today. I'm waiting at the ped now for his second "head massage" as H called it. Then his urologist follow up is at 3. Our friends also invited us over for dinner tonight so that will be interesting to see how C does. Today is making me miss being home with C.

waitwhat, L has been all over with naps too. I'm chalking it up to teeth, growth spurt and close to crawling, so for now I'm just going with it and hopes she works it out on her own. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm at work just doing my thing. Everyone is a little on edge this week because something big is happening, but we don't really know what it is. All the directors and VPs have been in a ton of meetings and then send out weird requests after the meetings are over. We think it's a total org redesign and work/reporting structures are going to change. No one really knows, but there's lots of gossip. At least someone brought bagels, so that's a win!

Were any of the STMs shocked at where the top teeth come out of the gums at? M's are so close the the surface that I can see them, but I didn't realize they were more in the front than the bottom.
Maybe I'm an idiot though

I bought some warm weather 18 month clothes for M for the end of the summer. Tried an outfit on her today and it fits so much better than all of her 12 month stuff. GDI.

My cats are pissing me off. One of them keeps shitting on the floor (over night so I can't catch them). They aren't sick so it's 100% behaviour.

sophiegrace Interesting you ask about the top teething location. Is my baby just unique or do the bottom teeth always come in more toward the back of the gum (like not right up front)? Also, before I murder my MIL please tell me if you all are using orajel? If this bitch says one more thing to me about orajel I'm gonna knock her two front teeth out and hand her a gdamn tube of it. She made a comment yesterday while we were over there celebrating Father's Day "krissy it's not for the parents, it's so your baby isn't in pain, it's not about you. Everybody uses it, you're just making them deal with the pain". Fuck you bitch. I give them Tylenol at night, you whore. Sorry, I'm not sorry. I had read not to use it and dis bitch wants to try to tell me how to parent when she hasn't been around a baby in 15 years.

My nurse friend told me it actually causes gums to get tougher, making teething more difficult and prolonged.

I did not know that danib re the orajel. All I knew was the FDA warnings that it can cause serious health issues (reportedly including death on rare occasion). I spent entirely way too long MOTN fantasizing about the perfect way to present this information to MIL so that she feels like an ass for even suggesting such a dangerous thing (being dramatic here) that she never opens her stupid mouth again. She spends two hours a week with them and suddenly thinks she has a say in what we do.

lol kleigh I've also heard orajel is not good. My MIL always insists we use it too. She even brings us coupons when she comes over. She also hates using any sort of baby monitor and doesn't understand why we use sleep sacks. :::eye roll::: Cheshie6 I believe at this age 2-3 hours is usually the norm. But the time between morning wake up and the first nap of the day is usually the shortest. For the past month J was consistently going down after 2 hours without hesitation. But the past few days have been a different story.

kleigh absolutely not. And it's not a sanctimommy thing, it's a medically proven that shit can kill a baby thing.

Another day just at home today! I'm in a flood watch, so not really wanting to go anywhere. Tues-Fri will be busy with the last swim class for this session, truck repair, and 6 month appointment for L. kleigh, I think MIL thinks I'm a sactimommy! Their awful (bc they don't properly train him) Dog got a hold of L's stuffed ring. DH and her never read the huge tag that says surface wash only, totally soaked it!?! So when I said I was concerned about mildew, bacteria growing on the inside she rolled her eyes because I didn't require the same for the silicone teething toy the dog "accidentally" got a hold of! Just wipe that stuff off and keep moving! I live in a house with three dogs that lick his face and his hands like I'm worried about doggy drool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

kleigh, we can make a thread about how bad orajel is and you can show that your MIL. But it shouldn't even matter whether it's recommended or not, you don't want to use it and that should be enough of a reason for her to back the eff off.

Cheshie6 H can only stay awake about 2 hours. IF we're out of the house and it's noisy, he can sometimes make it 2.5-3 hours. This is another one of those 'every baby is different things.' I know vino's J stays awake about 4 hours between her last nap & bedtime. There's no way my H could do that though.

Yeah well she's a BSC turd so I'm sure she'd brush it off - krissy I gave my kids orajel and they're fine. Oh yeah, they had orajel readily available in communist Poland in 1982? Interesting.

Just email her that link. It lists several reasons why you shouldn't use it. Or you can send me her mailing address and I'll print it out, mail it to her anonymously & include dick glitter. Let me know.

Omg I hate the "we did this" argument. You also smoked while pregnant, didn't use carseats, etc etc etc. We KNOW better now.

danib just reminded me that I forgot to tell y'all about what happened to me in OKC! They don't sell beer/wine in the grocery stores, you have to buy it at a liquor store. So my sister goes into the grocery store to grab a few things and I take Hayden next door to the liquor store. I pick up a couple bottles of wine and head to the counter. They wouldn't sell it to me because I had Hayden with me. WTF?

Wtf seriously tgrimes???? They don't sell beer/liquor in grocery stores here either. But that makes zero sense. They may refuse to sell to a 20 year old that strolled in with a 16 year old (because suspicion that the alcohol is for the 16 year old), but an adult with their small child absolutely would not be refused.
