When do you guys watch tv? While the kids are up or after they go to bed? I usually crash soon after they do. Or I’ll clean up the kitchen, shower, and/or catch up here for a half hour then crash. I’m doing something wrong here. Our kids are in bed at 7 (C) and 7:30 (B). We eat at 6, DH does bath time with them while I clean up the kitchen. We are in the living room with our feet up as soon as B is in bed. We also have a small TV in our room, we don't use it unless there's a late football game on we want to catch or something. eta: I made it sound like we're glued to the TV, we're not. We'll mess around on the iPads, or sometimes we go in the hot tub or play a game or something. But from 7:30-10 is when any TV watching happens. For sports it's weekends.

Add me to the too tired for TV club. I actually watched This is Us in real time last night, which is pretty shocking. But once I see the teaser, I can't NOT watch it. I really try not to get into new shows but Manifest seems promising.
ETA: DH doesn't really watch shows, and I've been trying not to add MORE time apart since he's been so sensitive about it. If he was interested, it'd be a lot easier to get into new shows.

What else is on that I might potentially need to DVR? I wanted to watch Big Brother this summer and missed the premier, so I just never watched it. I totally remember TV Guide...clearly I still need it. I am DVRing A Million Little things tonight. Looks good. Supposed to be like This Is Us Also, I am interested in seeing the Murphy Brown reboot which starts tomorrow as well. I am looking forward to both of these, but especially MB. I loved her back in the day.

It's a streaming app(?), they have three packages; orange, blue, or orange + blue combined. We have the cheapest one, it's $20/month and then we add the extra kids package for $5. During college football season we do the $5/month sports package to get the SEC network, then turn it off in Dec. We have an antenna mounted on the wall behind the TVs to catch local networks. You can add DVR but we haven't found we needed it, since most programming is available 'on demand'. The only downside (which can be solved by going to the O+B package, I believe) is that you can only stream on one TV at a time. I think with the upgraded package you can use multiple devices at a time. You can use a Roku or Apple TV to stream. You can get a one week free trial and usually they'll send you a free ROKU device (they're pretty cheap if you buy one yourself...$20ish?) My parents have been testing Hulu this summer at their vacation house--same concept. I think their max package is $40 and it includes DVR, and the local channels, so no need for an antenna. I liked it when I was there this summer. I was super resistant to cutting the cord, b/c change and habit and all that, but honestly I do not miss it at all. We get all the channels we want, and I like not being locked into a contract and having to deal with random charges on our bill, surprise rate increases, and constant outages (looking at you, Comcast). We already have a Roku & Apple TV. We'd have to have certain channels for sports though. I need to look into this more.

That's what we were concerned with, and one of the reasons we held off for so long, b/c we wanted to make sure we could watch football and golf. Their site is pretty easy to use, though...they break it down clearly to see what you get with each package.

Awhile back the Houston sports teams switched to their own channel so we had to have whatever service offered that channel. I need to see if that is still the case.

Oh random note that I forgot to mention about our night out in the city this past weekend.
So back when I ran my marathon in May, DH was barely speaking to me (for reasons unknown until our CTJ on Father's Day) and was really zoned out. He didn't come with me to the starting line and perhaps even weirder at the time was that he didn't give me his usual post-race gift bag of jelly beans and tootsie rolls - two of my favorites that he's always thought were kind of weird. That was a tradition he started after my 4th marathon, which I ran 5-6 weeks after we first started dating almost 12 years ago. It was oddly disappointing that he'd skipped it, but I hadn't thought about it since.
Anyhow fast forward to Saturday afternoon, when we're leaving the house for NYC. What do I find on the passenger seat waiting for me? A gift bad of jelly beans and tootsie rolls. I managed not to cry but only because he would have never let me live it down.

I’ve never watched Big Brother and the only time I watched Survivor was season 2. 🤷🏼♀️ I watch TV throughout the day. Usually while I’m doing stuff like tgrimes making food, laundry etc. Sometimes I watch on the iPad and carry it around the house with me while I clean. On another note Gunner FINALLY can write his name. I’ve been working so hard with him! He was just NOT interested for so long so he wouldn’t try. I think he’s getting motivated because he’s getting the hang of stuff now. He wrote this with zero help. 🙌🏼

This is us, only I do bathtime and Dh does the cleaning. And there’s usually and iPhone next to Dh with last nights’ game.

That's great sands42! I definitely slacked over the summer and B's name-writing skills took a hit; I'm happy to report that having to write it on every. single. thing at preschool every day has gotten him back on track, lol.

I was trying to be a handy-woman during nap. I installed one of the light fixtures in the basement all by myself!! I tried to do a couple outlets but I can’t figure out why they won’t work. Now I’m going to take the leaves in my front lawn

I have been trying for a loooong time to get him to write his name. A few months ago he wouldn't even trace his name... I'm sure he could have done a better job but he was just sloppy and uninterested. It was like I was torturing him. Lol. But he's super pumped about it now! He is so different from Giovanna. She was so eager to learn and do everything.

I’ve been mostly using Amazon for watching things. c has been using Netflix. Our hoa does provide basic cable so I guess we didn’t 100% cut the cord.

In the most benevolent act of kindness, chrisy01 gifted us their tickets to the Halloween party tonight. So, I got to get Dude from school and surprise him with news that we're going to Disneyland. He freaked out. He is sooooooo excited.

There are tons of character meet and greets and trick or treating spots.

trtlcrzy they may be upside down. When I installed the GFCI in the garage I had to put it upside down. Or it looked upside down to me, but it was correct to the electric wires. 🤷

I got the little two to bed and am watching This is Us. sands42, it's just kinda there for me, I don't get all the hype either. Mandy Moore and Kevin annoy me. There was a tornado around here yesterday and the news interrupted the show and people FREAKED OUT.

I heard the cast is now making 250k per episode. Cast being The mom, dad, and 3 adult children. Previously, the dude playing Kevin made 70, and Chrissy was only making 40.
