Ok, we're watching Manifest tonight, DH said he's been seeing previews and it looks good but he "didn't think I'd be interested". ??? nam2013 We watched Season 1 of the Sinner, really good! I was suspicious of the dad but didn't know how it was all going to play out. I think season 2 just started on AMC here. chrisy01 We ditched cable when we moved here and have been super happy with Sling. We save over $100/month over the cable we had in FL. If you find yourself missing out you might want to take a look. I thought the extended preview was terrific, which is why I really wanted to watch it. I am still intrigued.

We don’t have cable either, so I watch everything on current on Hulu, and sometimes for the sports season or for things like the Olympics or the Super Bowl, we get Sling for that period of time.

God bless America...I should probably order it before it's sold out or people buy them all then want to start selling them for $200 for Christmas...

I need someone to remind me when new shows are starting, or when season premiers happen. I always forget, then don't want to jump in late. Like Survivor...when does that start? I feel like it has to be soon. Survivor starts tonight at 9:30, after Big Brother Oh crap, see, I had no idea. I need to set my DVR!!! Thanks for the reminder!

We have discussed getting rid of Dish and switching to Sling or a similar, but the options for wifi in my area are pretty limited. Unlimited data on your home wifi doesn't exist, the way I priced it, I'd be paying about the same to get as much data as possible, plus the monthly Sling subscription, as I pay Dish. So I stayed where I am.

I took a picture of the Amazon link you shared and sent it to H. His response: Holy Shit

Although youngsters these days probably have no idea what a TV Guide is. But anyway, yes, I watch a lot of tv and retain a lot of useless information about it, even shows I don't regularly watch. My DVR has so many things to tape tonight and tomorrow night that it couldn't do it all. I "might" have a problem.

When do you guys watch tv? While the kids are up or after they go to bed? I usually crash soon after they do. Or I’ll clean up the kitchen, shower, and/or catch up here for a half hour then crash. I’m doing something wrong here.

I’m doing something wrong here. I watch after they're in bed. I usually get 30min-1hr. I record everything so i can FF through commercials. ETA most of the time I'm prepping food for the next day, folding laundry or some responsible bullshit like that while I'm watching.

Looks good. Supposed to be like This Is Us Don't know if you watch Law And Order SVU, but that starts tomorrow, along with Grey's. Also, I am interested in seeing the Murphy Brown reboot which starts tomorrow as well.

I also tend to stay up late watching TV. Which is stupid b/c then I am tired the next day, but I can't break the cycle. I am also solo a lot and have to stay in for a few hours mid day during nap time b/c B will nap for 3 + hours. I will often set S up with a movie or with the ipad and watch some shows then. I’m doing something wrong here. Hello self. I stared watching shows over my lunch break to catch up. If I watch it at home, I seem to neglect my responsibilities- the kids- so I stopped. Last week I stayed up way to late watching TV after the kids went to bed and I paid for it. One day these kids won’t need my full attention and I can enjoy TV again.

I have directvnow streaming service. I don’t get abc or fox here in this area and hate that part since fall shows start this week. I want to switch to something else, but because I have cell service through them, I stream data-free anytime We’re away from home. Pretty big perk- especially on long car rides if we travel. My ILs were supposed to get their login with their cable fixed so we could use their info to log on to the abc so we could watch our shows, but it hasn’t happened yet. I may end up getting Hulu back just for our fall shows. tgrimes with sling you pick a base package and you can add DVR service for $5 I think, but it has a storage limit I think. You can also add a kids package that has Disney and other channels. They have sports and other packages that cost like $5-10 extra on top of the base package.

MH will put on something mindless often, like the office or House hunters but nothing that requires attention.

If you find yourself missing out you might want to take a look. TTMA sling flamingo . It's a streaming app(?), they have three packages; orange, blue, or orange + blue combined. We have the cheapest one, it's $20/month and then we add the extra kids package for $5. During college football season we do the $5/month sports package to get the SEC network, then turn it off in Dec. We have an antenna mounted on the wall behind the TVs to catch local networks. You can add DVR but we haven't found we needed it, since most programming is available 'on demand'. The only downside (which can be solved by going to the O+B package, I believe) is that you can only stream on one TV at a time. I think with the upgraded package you can use multiple devices at a time. You can use a Roku or Apple TV to stream. You can get a one week free trial and usually they'll send you a free ROKU device (they're pretty cheap if you buy one yourself...$20ish?) My parents have been testing Hulu this summer at their vacation house--same concept. I think their max package is $40 and it includes DVR, and the local channels, so no need for an antenna. I liked it when I was there this summer. I was super resistant to cutting the cord, b/c change and habit and all that, but honestly I do not miss it at all. We get all the channels we want, and I like not being locked into a contract and having to deal with random charges on our bill, surprise rate increases, and constant outages (looking at you, Comcast).
