I’m currently using a brown edge GMD prefold with a red edge trifolded inside for my six month old DD overnight. She’s soaked and often leaking by the morning. My three year old never needed more than a brown edge and booster so I’m out of my element.
It’s pretty bulky for her so I was wondering if there was a better solution. I’m trying wool tonight.

My younger daughter was a super soaker at night, too. I ended up using an Sbish with a wool cover. She'd still be soaked, but the wool kept her bed from getting soaked and it kept the ON stink down, too.
And then she was a toddler and the potency and quantity went up, so we ended up mostly using sposies at night.

My first would leak out of even sbish fitteds. We used Twinkie tush night night and wool. But it was really hard to wash them.
Geffen prefolds are more absorbent and less bulky than the cotton ones. You could try that. They are easier to wash than fitteds.
This time around I am mostly just using a sposie with a PUL cover overnight. But geffen works if I run out.

Ds was a heavy wetter and I used fitted with a couple hemp and/ bamboo boosters and a thick wool cover. This was the best combo I found till he got to be older and didn't want to wear the bulky fitted so we had to switch to disposables.

We're using bicklebear fitteds under wool. Bulky but leak proof. I have more than we need and can send you one if you want to try.
