pinkcat are you using a spectra pump? I’ve had lots of issues like you are describing it this time with that pump vs my meerkat last time. I’m cm contemplating switching pumps.

Speaking of pumping- any good ways to boost supply at 7 months? I keep getting a clog in one side, and it is really messing with my supply. I am barely getting an ounce out of that side throughout the whole day. I am making sure I am pumping or feeding every 3 hours (except overnight- then it's typically at least twice overnight). I am not ready to give up breastfeeding yet but am struggling with getting enough! Do you feel like you are using the right size flanges? Do you use the regular ones or Pumpin Pals? How's your hydration? Are you eating enough? Are you still losing a lot of weight? I find I have to be careful about getting enough calories and drinking enough. Are you doing compressions? Using the let-down button to get more let-downs? Thank you!!! all good questions! I do think the flanges are OK- but I haven't heard of Pumpin Pals! I'll have to look into that. I drink a lot of water and my weight has been pretty stable for the past month- maybe I should try eating more oatmeal though. I also have some MilkMakers lactaction bars I can try. This is embarrassing but I don't really know how to use the let down button on my pump- I have a Spetra and I just keep it on the strongest vacum level until I start to get a letdown, and then hit the letdown button once. Should I be doing anything different than that? Thanks

Hi guys! It’s our wedding anniversary today 🤗 cheers to 5 years!
Can anyone help? I didn't co sleep with dd1 but dd2 has been a nightmare . She's borderline obsessed with me and I can't do anything for fear of screaming. Esp after she was sick last week and I slept in the rocker it's been even worse. She's up 4-5 times a night and daddy just won't do, and I am really getting worn out by her neediness. Heelllllllp.

sunfrogger happy anniversary!!! DD3 was my extreme Velcro baby. Needed to be touching me all the time, and woke up every 45-60 minutes crying for me. It was hell. We sleep trained at 6.5 Months because I couldn’t take it anymore. But if I remember correctly you’re not interested in CIO yet. I wish I had better advice. I’m sorry it’s so tough right now.

OK from that diagram, the Spectra is way more complicated! (than what I use) but the letdown button is for when you are trying to get a let down. So, that's how my machine (pump in style) starts, in let down mode, it's like your baby's first sucking when he's trying to get the milk. Then the machine switches to the slower suction, like your baby's longer, rhythmic drinking. When my let down stops, if I'm paying attention, I hit it again until another let down happens, and so on and so forth. My let downs are wimpy so I do it over and over (again, when I'm paying attention..,). Some of my friends never have to use theirs or just do it once! Hope this helps! I was several months in on pumping with my first before I knew about it....

And I really want pizza. My poor husband is feeling pizza deprived too. We can get it for him and DS but there aren't really any good options for me from a pizza place so it ends up being 2 stops for take out and blah blah blah I want to eat a massive pizza and a whole box of Mac and cheese. I should really be thinner because there’s nothing for me to eat!

Let me know if a new pump works any better for you!! The spectra didn’t work for me. I went back to my medela freestyle. easternshoregirl brought up a lot of good points Your baby is happy and healthy and not small at all. Whatever combination you have going w nursing/supplementing/solids is working for him. Take Lethitchin (not spelling this right at all) everyday. This is my third nursing go around and the first one I’ve taken these daily. I’m super clog and mastitis prone and this has been my least cloggy experience. Someone could hv mentioned this but hands free bra and new set of parts always helps me. Clogs at the worst. Cold helps me more than hot. When I had mastitis a couple months ago cold cabbage leaves really helped. I know it’s supposed to decrease supply but it was fine.

Also pinkcat totally spotted the Halloween decos on your pic. We are putting ours up on Sunday. The boys are so excited! I went to target to get a couple new decos and the last three days I’ve surprised them w a new deco getting ready to the big decorate day. I know this is way over the top but decorating for holidays is a total shared love.

sunfrogger happy anniversary! DS2 is much clingier to me than DS1 was. Basically if he sees me he thinks he has to be held or eat all the time. I just keep telling myself its a phase and will pass.

I didn't want to until a year, but I'm perilously close bc I'm about to lose my shit. But did that help the day time Velcro?

sunfrogger yes and no. She still wanted to be on my hip a large portion of the day, but I could also put her down for naps. I will say the sleep training didn’t work entirely. We were hardcore for two weeks and she still cried a lot. Eventually I started nursing her to sleep again for naps, or rubbing her back until she fell asleep, but wouldn’t go to bed every 45 min at night. And DH has to get on board with rubbing her back a lot until she realized she wasn’t always going to get me. It was... a rough several weeks. I nursed her to sleep until she was 14 months old, but that initial stint in sleep training eliminated the excessive wake ups. One day at 14 months she didn’t fall asleep nursing. So i set her in her crib for bed. She waved and said night night mommy, like it had never before been an issue. It was bizarre and amazing and made me all WTF at once. When she learned to pull up and cruise was when she needed me to hold her a little less. She was more interested in exploring.

Thanks ajetter. I def think once we get home I am going to set times I'll be OK with picking her up at night otherwise she will just cry or get her back rubbed. We were successful in getting her to take a pacifier but I actually think that's made her sleep more poorly. I might consider breaking that habit now. Any thoughts guys?

I’m having the laziest of lazy days. These seems to be a recent Sunday theme. Last Sunday I didn’t do anything either.
I am still in my pjs. Actually MH is the only one that is dressed. We are just hanging out at home for the day. The baby is going down for his nap soon. G is up in bed but isn’t asleep yet.

I’m up and G is already on her way to school. I don’t have major plans for today. I have some cleaning to do and stuff like that. Other than that, I’m hanging at home. Today is pajama day for G. She is wearing Star Wars pjs.
