When is your due date? How far along are you? OR how old is baby?! My due date was today! Lily is almost three weeks old.
How big is baby? Our little peanut was 6 pounds 15 oz. Last Wednesday.
Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Green turned pink
Any Upcoming Appointments? Nope! It's so nice to not be having several doctor's appointments per week!
Symptoms: exhaustion.
Milestones:
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? Lily has struggled the last few nights. I got some gas drops for her that seemed to help a little last night, but every evening she struggles to go to sleep and stay asleep. Last night she was awake from 6:45-10, not crying or anything, but just refusing to sleep. She was also awake from 5:15-7:30 this morning. It's frustrating when you want them to sleep but they just don't want to!
Sleep (or rather lack of sleep) for both me and baby has always been a huge anxiety trigger for me so I'm hoping I can keep it under control unlike with dd1. Thankfully DH is good about keeping me in check and letting me know when I need to talk to my Dr about it. I was on Zoloft before so if needed I will go back on it again.

When is your due date? How far along are you? OR how old is baby? 6 days old
How big is baby? Born 7lbs 10oz, down to 7lb 3oz at her appt today. I’m thinking this is probably her bottoming out point.
Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Pink
Any Upcoming Appointments? Weight check in a week
Symptoms: flabby, tired, stitches sting
Milestones: she had a gas/dream smile...?
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? This little chick can holler! I think she’s going to have DS1’s infant personality moreso than super easygoing DS2. DS1 was...”high needs.”

How big is baby? Was 6 lbs 9 oz at birth, today 6 lbs 6 oz.

Any Upcoming Appointments? We just came home from the hospital a couple of hours ago, we have a doctors appointment for baby tomorrow.
Symptoms: Sore, hormonal, tired. Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed!
Milestones: Feels amazing having an outside baby and being on the other side of labour.
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions: Is it too soon to take a bath postpartum? I think an epsom salt bath would feel amazing, do I have to wait or can I do that now? I feel like a newb I barely remember postpartum healing with DD.

Rants/Raves/AW/Questions: Is it too soon to take a bath postpartum? I think an epsom salt bath would feel amazing, do I have to wait or can I do that now? I feel like a newb I barely remember postpartum healing with DD. I was told at the hospital that they recommend waiting 6 weeks before having a bath. I would ask your doctor as they may have a different recommendation.

chriskoo My OB recommended a regular bath when I asked about sitz baths. So that makes me think go for it.

chriskoo unless you were specifically told not to do a bath because of some undercarruage complications, you should be fine to do so and epsom salts do help with healing.

When is your due date? How far along are you? OR how old is baby?! Due date today! 40w
How big is baby? Watermelon
Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Blue
Any Upcoming Appointments? Thursday OB - Friday Ultrasound but waiting on my OB’s office to call me if they could get me in earlier.
Symptoms: Contractions, sore pelvis, tired
Milestones: Due date!
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions?
I’ve been having contractions on and off since Thursday. Sunday they were 3minutes apart for 2+hrs so we went in to get checked and nothing... not even 1cm dilated. Doctor said baby is still really high up even though earlier that day it felt like he was very low and I was having a ton of pressure in my pelvis/butt area. So I’m a little frustrated.

chriskoo - My OB recommended sitz baths or sitting in a few inches of water in a regular bath tub to help heal so while you probably don't want to soak for a long time you're probably fine taking a bath.

Thinking about this bath convo. I also thought the sitz baths were totally fine. I know I did them early postpartum with just enough water to cover my external area and plan to be more diligent about doing them this time. I would imagine even with some Epsom salt would probably be fine. But I don't think I would take a full-on legit bath... You know sometimes when you're adjusting to lay back in the tub and your muscles relax down there just the the right way and you get some water actually up into your vagina? I don't think that would be good postpartum. I think being more relaxed and more fully submerged when you're still a bit "open" down there may make it easier for water to get in there. That issue makes me think that there'd be a difference in recommendation between a full bath and a little sitz bath.
Although, perhaps I'm the only one with a vag that occasionally sucks up bath water.....?! 😂😂😂

I just didn't have time to do a full on bath but could do 10 minutes with just a few inches of water and it always felt amazing!

My OB also specifically mentioned not getting water up there so yea...as much as a bath would be relaxing I second guess my "probably ok" response above.

When is your due date? How far along are you? OR how old is baby?! 36 weeks
How big is baby? Large cantaloupe
Team Pink/blue/green/don't know? Pink
Any Upcoming Appointments? Today. Everything checked out ok. GBS negative and I declined my cervical check today. I don’t want to worry about what I’m measuring and think she’s coming sooner than expected.
Symptoms: reflux, gagging again when I brush my teeth, swelling, painful movements from baby at times, backache
Milestones: Seriously in prep and nesting mode.
Rants/Raves/AW/Questions? My swelling is getting crazy considering I hadn’t been swelling until the last week or so. Dr. Said as long as it comes down quickly with elevation there is no reason to “get excited.” I’m taking comfort in that for now.

Wow thanks for all the responses on my bath question! DS has his first doctor’s appointment today, so I asked our family doctor this question and she said that a few inches of water with Epsom salts is fine and helps with healing, but to avoid tubs with jets and scented bath products. I suppose after c section or a very traumatic vaginal delivery the answer could be different. Seems like everyone was pretty much on track! I’m looking forward to using this as an excuse to get some alone time.
