Most our clothes are from either Carters or Target, but we are having a problem that LO is starting to "height out" of the 12 month size, but it's still too baggy on her. So the 18 month stuff is a good length but stuff like pants and shorts won't even stay up it's so big... Are there any (not too expensive) brands that run tall? I just let her wear really short pants and shorts, or tie them on tight if it's the bigger size and they have ties. More an issue for the rompers and to a lesser extent sleep and plays... I know rompers aren't "essential" but I just love them!

Kickee pants makes really stretchy rompers and sleepers, so I find they last past their size. They can be expensive, so I buy off zulily or during sales.
For pants, your best bet is H&M. They're an inexpensive brand that has adjustable waists. So get the right size in length, then you can use the internal system so they don't fall off.

I always found Gap to run long/lean. They're on the pricy side, but they regularly have 40% off sales.

+1 to Gap pants. Many of them have the adjustable tabs in the waist too.

We have the same problem with V. He's about two sizes different in what fits in the length and waist.
Now that he can fit 2T length, we're finding more options. Children's place has good quality pants with the adjustable bands inside. We also tend to just roll his pants over to help keep them up. Shorts season is also helping us.
ETA: we're done with rompers and sleep and plays now, but we sized those to the length. They were always baggy elsewhere, but it was more important that they fit the length properly, especially since V was an early mover.

Idk why I only like those as PJs but I do... someone gave her a pants/shirt set as a gift and I was just like oh... weird. Lol. She'll be in them until she is 23. Lol. The rompers I just think are so darling. I love to put her in them. They are obviously not that essential but just too cute to not wear.

+3 to Gap running long/lean. DD has always been in the 99%ile for height and I've had similar problems.

My DD is 3 but really tall and thin. I had the same problem with clothing falling off of her. I have found that Roots is one of the best for pants and shorts if you have a tall, thin child. It can be pricey but they have sales regularly (which I wait for). Also because of the elastics at the bottoms of the track pants you can get bigger sizes and they can wear them for longer and because the waist elastics are not loose the waist also fits even in the bigger sizes. I've had DD in them forever and their clothing is by far her favourite.

Cat and Jack from Target have adjustable waist band pants too. If not that, we tend to put E in leggings, which typically fit her like regular cut pants. She's the 95% for height and only 25% for weight, so pants are a constant struggle for us.

My kids are both above the 99% and have been forever. They're also thin. Honestly, if things for length wise, they are baggy everywhere else. Especially in the smaller sizes, DD is just starting to get out of toddler sizes and things are very, very slightly improving. I disagree with the Gap rec, I've found them to be wide and short-same with Children's Place. Carter's has got the slimmest fit that I've found.

Dresses instead? I have the issue where E starts to hulk out of things because she has broad shoulders. What about Garanimals? MIL has bought a couple of pieces for us from them and the pants were way longer than other same-size pants.

For pants, I like Zara for my tall kiddo.

I have no advice, but plenty of sympathy, DS2 is pretty underweight so we definitely go through him being too tall for things like onesies, long before he fills them out. He needs to stay in onesies though because he pulls his diaper off.

I gave up on rompers. But they are one of my faves. Carter's and osh kosh have adjustable waist pants too. And we also stick to leggings most of the time. J is tall but also on the higher end for weight so she probably fills out her clothes better. I always had to size up a lot.

K has some 6mo old clothes from them that she is still too skinny for at 15 months.

Lurker here
I have a tall and lean and a tall and... not so lean. DD is tall and lean- I find that Children's Place pants are the best, but their shirts shrink quickly. I have always had good luck with jumping bean (Kohl's) for her clothes. Gap also fits her well, but it is more expensive. If your DD stays tall, when she gets to 4T/5T size, switch to 4/5 slims. Much better fit than toddler sizes.
DS is big all the way around and Garanimals are the best for him.

Primary.com has leggings and I feel they run slim. I buy the Capri leggings in one size up to use as full size pants on my 22 month old.

H&M is great for tall babies and toddlers. The European size on their size charts is actually height in cm. And the pants all have adjustable waists.

I said you could pull those SLPs from my cold dead hands. But L started having accidents MOTN and needing at least one change of diapers to prevent it. Maybe 1-2 times a week, he needs a full change of outfit. Those 2 piece outfits are a godsend and he LOVES them. They're roomy. They let him move around. They're typically not cotton, so they are silky and smooth. And they make MOTN diaper changes cake, since you just pull down the pants. I LOVE them now. A complete 180 from 2 months ago.

Definitely gap/old navy. I joined a baby gap resale page on FB and have gotten some great deals on gently used stuff from folks there.

You can get a dapper snapper too for pants that are too wide. The best.
