I have to tell you something. No. Listen. It's real. This morning I have to work so I got up and showered. Then I got dressed. And did my hair. And make up. And packed lunches for 4 boys and myself... And my children are still asleep. It is quiet and I have 15 minutes until I will need to wake them up to go to their grandparents for the morning. 15 minutes. 15 minutes to sit quietly and drink my coffee (Locally roasted Sumatra blend for those wondering). 15 minutes to not run someone to the potty. 15 minutes to not break up fights. 15 minutes of simple, quiet, early morning bliss. Guys, it is 7 am and my kids are STILL asleep. These things do happen. Dreams do come true. What's in your cup this morning?

sak that's amazing. My Peet's big bang blend is brewing. I've been up for almost two hours already and I'm a grump. J is having a super whiny morning that started out with him screeching right outside my bedroom door (where M is sleeping), which always makes me furious because I'm walking past the door with him to go downstairs, then when I remind him to be quiet so we don't wake M up he screeches even louder. UGH. The whole reason I don't want him waking her up is so that we have time in the morning to snuggle on the couch and I can give him some undivided attention. Instead we end up downstairs with both of us yelling and mad. I am going to try to restart my morning with coffee. Today can still be a good day.

I've been drinking coffee much more regularly than ever before, but I don't want it daily. So I'm off this morning.
But the gallon of pioneer woman's cold brew recipe that I made (half pound coffee plus gallon of water) is doing great.
My kids woke up in bad moods, so I've been dealing with their nonsense all morning. Next I have to make breakfast for myself.

Both girls finally got a decent night's sleep after two days of long days and very late nights. R even slept past 6 (til 7:15!!) So now I'm enjoying Blanchard's Handshake Blend while the girls get in some chalk art before it gets way too hot and humid

My delicious cold brew with maple syrup is sitting on the counter as my kids crawl all over me. I'm using the nut milk bag method in daily quantities. So it's not as strong as Pioneer Woman's - just strong enough for adding ice to.

That's amazing SAK!
Nothing exciting on the coffee front here, just my normal weekday brew of donut shop with caramel almond creamer.

That sounds wonderful! Yesterday I got up early to make J breakfast for Father's day and of course Nugget woke up immediately, before I even had time to make my latte. She was pretty darn cute helping me make baked french toast, though (which mostly involved her putting slices of bread in the baking pan and smushing them).
The usual Lavazza soy latte with honey on my way to work. About to go fill my water bottle because I still feel dehydrated from being outside all day yesterday in the heat (at a game with J and Nugget and J's brothers).

I made and consumed breakfast nachos with egg, a little cheese, and roasted veggies.
Very icy water to drink.
My children are watching Reading Rainbow and playing quietly with trucks, respectively.
It's no 15 minutes alone, but I'll take it!

Basically the amount that works for hot coffee minus the ice cube portion (so maybe 3/4 the amount of water).

Even though DH is away, I made the same amount of coffee and I'm drinking it all

After a weekend of Kurig coffee (not my favorite), I am back to my drip brew. Some brand of organic coffee from Costco. I don't normally like their coffee, but the small batches they get are pretty darn good. The only problem is they usually only get a couple pallets and then never get it again.
And I'm digging the new coffee maker. It brews super fast and tastes really good and strong.

Leftover cup from this morning poured over ice. That's my fancy cold brew.
My kids were both up at 6 so we went to the playground at 8 before school at 9. P is taking a stellar nap though and I'm watching friends reruns.

This is the first time I've watched friends since P was born I think. I like that she owns her name now and the tv character is just copying her.

My husband got up extra early for work and woke the baby at 6:20am. He just babbles to himself till we get him so I put headphones in and listened to Radiohead for 15 minutes while I psyched myself up to get out of bed. I had a Keurig coffee earlier and I just stopped at Tim Hortons for a dark roast on my way to work.

Radiohead!! I've been obsessed with covers of Creep lately. Check this out if you haven't seen it yet. Creep g.co/kgs/Uet9Lv I've been keeping on with Peet's Major Dickason's Blend with the Keurig. It's so good. Last night I made Peet's decaf with the drip coffee maker, and it was delicious too! I was happily surprised.

But for me at home, when my ice starts to melt it creates the perfect ratio of coffee to melted ice to milk.

I tried to make coffee ice cubes once and it was just unnecessarily messy and a PITA.

I do think it is cool when you get just the right proportion of coffeeicecubes and coffee and whatever - pure consistency! But I don't mind the change - I kinda like the coffee towards the end of the drinking period, when it's a bit watery and super cold.
