Betweenthelines sorry about the ant problems. They were awful at our place in CT and it drove me crazy! Ugh. Keep fighting the good fight We used to only get them in our bathroom this time of year, and it was manageable. But now the kitchen is just too much. We have a dark floor so they're hard to see. I just scheduled to get an estimate with Orkin because I don't have the patience to try and deal with this ourselves.

I was exercising in the basement on Saturday, and J came running up: Mommy, there's a huge spider by the door! I can't get my car through! Okay, sure kid. I'll come kill the "huge" spider.
Yeah, it was a 2-inch long jumping something, not a spider. And 0.7 seconds later it was a very flat something from my slamming a box on it and then stomping on the box, because fuck no to that thing jumping around in my house. I'll take the spiders because they eat bugs, but bugs can GTFO.

Someone in my office is hoarding the black pens. The only ones left in the supply closet are blue and red. I just want a black pen!

I don't care what bugs and pests are OUTSIDE of my house. Just keep them TF OUT there. The ants in my kitchen are making me crazy. I'm about to call Orkin and invest my life savings into Terro traps. We are treating the yard to keep them from getting into the house. I swear they have a home in our floorboards, but hopefully if we cut off the access to the outside and kill the nests, they'll die off.

There's a snake downstairs" given we have garter snakes on our yard often H ran downstairs to get the snake out. It was a millipede. I almost died. 😂

One of K's teachers is resigning at the end of the week for a new job. I need to figure out a gift for him. He is one of my favorites in the building so I am sad that he is leaving. He always says "Goodbye Beautiful" to K when we are leaving.

Morning! I haven't been around, but I think I'm caught up. Went to Virginia on Friday for my little brother's high school graduation and got back yesterday. It was such a good time. It was A's first time in a hotel and she LOVED it. She pronounced elevator like 'alligator.' and opened up a 'restaurant' in the room. She would take all of our orders and then go press buttons on the microwave to make our food. Now we are back but my aunt flew in from Oklahoma on Thursday and doesn't fly out until tonight so I need to decide what we are going to do today.....

So the DJ sucked. He played all of the old, over played songs like Love Shack and Prince's Kiss and Why Do You Build Me Up Buttercup and Usher's Yeah! .... There are Soooo many better songs out there. Hardly anyone danced. I LOVE to dance and even I was reluctant. In my opinion, the DJ makes the reception. The groom doesn't dance so he wandered around and talked with people for the whole night which was kind of awkward since him and the bride (my BF) were never together. I was upset with the seating arrangement. She put the majority of the wedding party in the furthest part of the room, no where near the bar (which they were offering top shelf open bar for the wedding party), and no where near the cake cutting. I didn't even know it was going on until people started clapping.
The other thing that just seemed poorly planned was that the ceremony was scheduled at 4. They were having a friend of ours officiate so the ceremony only lasted about 15 minutes. The Cocktail "Hour" turned into hours as we weren't allowed into the reception room until 7. There was a tray of cheese/crackers and a tray of fruit out from 5-6 but then they took it away and people were left hanging from 6-7. My table didn't get it's dinner until 8:15 (mind you, I wanted A to be taken home at 8). I was starvingggg. I had only ate half of a tuna fish sandwich and half of a bagel and that was long gone out of my system. I had 2 small "glasses" of wine (they were more like shots of wine) and my head was spinning because I was so hungry.
So there's my long recap in case anyone was wondering. I had to let this out because it's all been bothering me since Friday.
2 more weddings to go!

taketheshot why wouldn't the bridal party be with the bride and groom? Is that normal there? Every wedding I've been to (and I have a huge family) the wedding party has always sat with the bride and groom. That seems so weird.

My H and I had our own table BUT the bridal party was right next to us! That does seem like poor planning.

Every wedding I've been to (and I have a huge family) the wedding party has always sat with the bride and groom. That seems so weird. My husband and I sat at a table by ourselves at the front of the room. No separate table for the wedding party either - we just sat them with their significant others at regular tables. But then, my wedding party was my best friend and my brother. H had his two brothers and his best friend. We had odd numbers and we didn't separate based on gender. We got some comments, so I get that we aren't the norm. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk

Hope everyone had a good weekend! Ours was busy but fun. We had lots of family time, and the weather was great. Our deck is all finished, I love it!
So B has stopped eating fruit. He already doesn't eat any vegetables. I am beyond frustrated. So far bananas are okay, but I tried strawberries, grapes, blueberries, and oranges and he spits them all out immediately and says "no". Awesome. And I just bought a ton! I guess I'll be making smoothies tonight...

taketheshot why wouldn't the bridal party be with the bride and groom? Is that normal there? Every wedding I've been to (and I have a huge family) the wedding party has always sat with the bride and groom. That seems so weird. It's becoming more popular to do a "sweetheart table" which is just the bride and groom sitting together and the rest of the party sitting at the tables next to them. I was more upset with where we actually ended up sitting. There were tables on the main level with the sweetheart table and dance floor, then there was the second level, about 3 stairs up, which is where the majority of the wedding party was. I could understand if she wanted to keep just family on the main floor but all of their siblings were up on the second level with us.. It just didn't make sense and was not something I would have done

I'm so tired this morning. OB appointment at 9 which I've been anxiously awaiting. My mind has been playing tricks on me for 2 weeks and I tore my house apart last week looking for my doppler, no idea where it is. This weekend kicked my butt, but it was nice and we had a lot of fun. There was a steady breeze that kept all the smoke away from us, so we did end up in the pool for a couple hours. A was so happy that H was on the water (this was the first time this year), she wanted nothing to do with me, so I got to relax. I smoked ribs and corn and made my own BBQ sauce (kind of), I bought a dry rub and mixed it with Sierra Nevada, it was really good. Watching my friend's daughter again today, we will be in the house the majority of the day and I hope the girls nap so I can do the same.
