After seeing all those babies walking around and cruising in yesterday’s thread, I’m feeling like our babies are growing up too fast!

LO turns 1 month tomorrow. He has been biting me lately during daytime nursing sessions, and I feel like he’s letting me know that he’s not really into nursing while awake anymore. Totally makes me sad, but I guess this can be normal for some babies. He still likes to wake up and eat MOTN, so I don’t think he’s completely self-weaning...but...sigh...he’s just not as dependent on my anymore I guess. Gives me the feels! I also feel like we’re getting close to almost doing just 1 nap a day. duskymonkey Didn’t you mention this in a previous thread? DS1 stayed at 2 naps until about 16 months, but LO has already had a few afternoons where he just doesn’t want to go down - especially if his morning nap was on the late/long side. It’s too early for 1 nap a day, right????

My husband messaged me this morning asking if I'd make pancakes for the office and drop them off. I did it, but he owes me.
E refused her first nap this morning. She preferred to lay awake and practice her new talking I guess. She seems to be doing okay considering.
I need to make a target run today which I should have done yesterday but I felt shitty. Speaking of, I have a great new idea for a sanitary pad. It's like a pad... except it fits. This thought brought to you by day 3 of my period and with all the money issues, too broke to buy tampons so I'm using my PP pads. Wheeee.

Stuck at home today because DH's car wouldn't start this morning so he took mine. We will go to walmart tonight and buy a replacement battery along with a few other things. Including their fresh baked cookies. I am obsessed with the chocolate chip cookies they have by the checkouts.

We're still keeping LO home from daycare since our provider is still battling shingles. It has made for quite the week. Monday and Tuesday I took 1/2 day PTO and worked from home 1/2 day. Wednesday my MIL took off and watched him. DH is home with him today, though I have to leave work early so he can go to practice. We are, however, getting lots of 1-1 time with LO and we have thoroughly enjoyed it. I think he has too!
He's getting so much more coordinated and I think he'll be taking steps by his birthday (2 weeks from TODAY).

I'm basically freaking out.

Taitai I’ve been trying to tell everyone to make these O17 babies sit back down and keep these littles little bit no one is taking me up on it 🤷♀️😂 cythe you are coming across much more calm and in control then I would be on the internet about this mortgage situation. CoachTsWife ugh about the daycare woes. It sounds like youve been able to work it out but what a headache. I hope your daycare provider starts to feel better soon and your schedule returns to normal trinitrotoluene if there anything like our Walmart’s cookies then OMG yes! When we were roofing our house a few summers ago I would be sent to Walmart for extra supplies, Gatorade... and those cookies.

It’s been long days at work. I’ve got a rough class this year. It makes for long days and I feel emotionally and physically spent by the time I come home to my real kids. So much of my energy is being sucked up by this group of kids and I need to seriously find some small self-care stuff if I’m going to make it through the year. They aar just a needy group and I already have a toddler and baby who are legitimately needy. Just tired here and ready for Friday.
*please note I love my job. Love my students. It’s hard to complain in the real world about my job because these are people’s babies. I know that. They are wonderful kids. They can make me crazy and they are very needy. But they are also children. I know that. I promise I don’t hate my job or kids but because this is a much tougher, needier group then normal is takes a whole lot more energy everyday to make sure my classroom is a supportive place. It’s just not leaving energy for my own kids some days, let alone anything for me.

Hello! H is gone tonight and both kids are asleep. DS2 has been standing on his own so much lately but he refuses to take any steps! As soon as I put my hands out to help him, he drops down to crawl.
I’m so exhausted. I can’t wait til tomorrow is over and it’s the weekend!

danvers You absolutely have a right to vent, and don’t feel guilty or bad about it! I could not be a teacher - I don’t have the patience. I admire teachers so much, and those kids are very lucky to have you. I hope you can figure out some self care to help you recharge your batteries! cythe Omg to the mortgage thing not being fixed yet. I would burn.it.down.

danvers No judgement here, it can be hard when a job is physically and emotionally demanding. It takes a lot out if you. I like to use the analogy of gas in my tank or recharging a battery with my husband so he knows when I’m in need of self care. So hopefully you can find some time or an activity to recharge.
