Back from Circle Time and recovering from the baseball game. It was fun but definitely a different beast with two littles. Dd gets super fussy right before passing out so that wasn't fun. Ds always just fell asleep without a fuss. I felt like I didn't actually get to watch the game (not that I really care about baseball) because I was too busy with the kids.
I had french fries and a donut. Sooooo I guess I should walk today. 😬

I posted this in the wrong thread. Oops! Here it is:
B has an awful cold. Dh bought a nose frida and, while it is (disgustingly) awesome, the poor kid was so stuffy that he couldn't sleep. He's also developed a phlegmy cough. He had no issue sleeping and staying asleep in my arms. As soon as I put him down, however, he'd wake up coughing or because he couldn't breathe through his nose. I know there's not much I or the doctor can do. Any one have any tips that would help aside from saline and sucking boogers out? Is putting a rolled up receiving blanket under his crib mattress to keep him at an angle a thing? I need sleep. I'm going on three nights of 3-4 hours of sleep and I don't think I can keep living like this. HALP!

Hey, ladies.
We started this new thing at work called "one simple thing", where we pick something that would improve our work/life balance and take 1-2 hours of the work week to do thing. I chose family breakfast on Wednesdays and OMG what a difference in my morning. MH WFH on Wednesdays, and the kids slept in an extra 40 min while I got to drink coffee with him. Then they woke up happy because I didn't have to drag them out of bed, my toddler let me get him dressed without a fight, and we all ate breakfast together. IT WAS AMAZING. AND L rolled over back to belly! Guess it's time to figure out the swaddle sitch. But seriously, WHAT a difference in my morning. I've been having such a hard time adjusting and I am hoping that this combined with summer hours (3:00 Fridays) and our new WFH program (Mondays) will help me get through the summer.

Ug. So sorry heybulldog. +1 to the humidifier, saline, snotsucker, and saline. Besides that, power through. Baby colds are the worst.

heybulldog, Ack. That was us last week. Thankfully, we're pretty much through with it. The urgent care doctor we saw said make sure the humidifier is basically right next to them if you want it to work effectively. He said it's much better for just regular every day use than it is for helping sick kiddos. We also used saline. We also stick a flat pillow under the mattress at one end to elevate it and that seemed to help. Vicks is always my go-to to help stuffy noses, too.

rinny that's awesome! It's similiar but I've been loving the quarter chimes on my grandfather clock I just got from my grandma. I find that they help me monitor my time better and I've been more efficient. Oh crap, I've spent 15 minutes online, time to get back to work!

Oh yes heybulldog and thelittleredm! I forgot about the Vicks. I have Baby Vicks because the menthol can cause breathing reactions in some littles. Not sure how effective it is without it but it smells nice and makes me feel better. I rub some on their feet (old wives tale but I swear it worked for me when pregnant) and chests.

I'm sorry B is sick heybulldog. My B has a similar thing. I agree - the nose frida is disgustingly awesome. No advice here. We had one night where he was up every hour. That was very unfun. That's awesome that your job lets you do that for work-life balance rinny. We have summer hrs at our company too and it's the best. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Working from home today and I managed to hit up the grocery store before I logged on for the day. My goal is to take a few minutes and prep some meals for the rest of the week too. I bought a bunch of chicken to marinate so we can just grab a bag and throw it on the grill.
DH is useless in the kitchen beyond heating stuff in the oven, but he's the self proclaimed grill master so I'm looking forward to more help with dinner now that the wether is nice!

heybulldog I'd go with a humidifier and elevate one end of the mattress. Also, the tell tale for DS having an ear infection is that he will sleep on me but not laying flat in his crib. He never has a fever or pulls on his ears but both times he's had an ear infection, I just thought it was a cold. rinny I love that one simple thing idea!

Baby F has been SO fussy since her shots Monday. Did anyone else experience this? She had a fever that night but it broke yesterday afternoon. She won't sleep anywhere but on me or in the stroller. I even brought her in our bed last night which I never do. I don't know if it's just from the shots or a leap or a combo of everything.

orangecrush, I'm sorry F is not handling her shots well. W doesn't seem bothered by them. He gets a fever for a couple days but it doesn't alter his attitude. DS1 was the same way minus the fever.

orangecrush, DS was so fussy after his shots. That same night, he screamed for an hour and nothing I did helped at all He wasn't that way after his other shots so I'm not sure why these ones were so bad. He seemed to feel better by the 2 day though.

Wait what went down on parenting today? Just seeing the Instagram post... It's been a crazy day. This forum was temporarily "off". McBenny said it was a joke. Some believe she was serious about it, saw the backlash, and is playing it off as a joke. People are feeling a lot of feelings. But we are officially on this forum now so at least that drama is settled.

jess213, formerly tmclawchick, come in! Update us on your life, how are your littles? And you're right, 2u2 is no joke. Allo! Life is keeping me busy, that's for sure! First, Adela (pronounced ah-DELL-ah) Cordelia was born on 1/24, RCS, and is doing well! She had some ridiculous tummy issues early on, which we figured out were because of a dairy allergy. Now that I've cut that from my diet, she's doing soooo much better. 😊 I can't even remember when I posted last, but we bought a house last fall, so that's been fun! DS is wrapping up 1st grade and is rockin out in scouts and baseball. DD1 is loving being a big sister but man, those terrible 2s are still a few months away and she's giving me a run for my money. It's a good thing she's cute haha. Finally feel like I have a handle on things, so I'm looking forward to dipping my toes back in and getting to know everyone again!
