DS1 was just getting settled into his routine when they called school off for Florence. He won't go back until Monday at the earliest, probably longer. Some of his classmates were in the evac zone, but we're high and dry here. He says his old classmates would be insanely jealous at his extra extra long summer break. Other than that, he's doing much better. He's chilled out about moving and says there are even some things he likes better about here than our old base. He is becoming good friends with a couple of other boys in the neighborhood. The craziest thing is, the little boy next door has the same autoimmune disorder as DS1. We've never actually met another kid with autoimmune neutropenia. Some of the things that have worried me about DS1's health, they're actually going through too, so that's nice to have that reassurance that everything is okay.
I'm stressed. I'm feeling better since the hurricane turned (and feeling guilty about the intense relief there too), but it's still going to be a long week of tropical storming, and H is probably going to be gone for at least another week later this month. Sigh. We'll be okay, it's just a lot at once.
QOTW: I agree, enchanted! It seems like we had a lot more "normal" kid options, like the TGIF shows. Reading Rainbow is on Amazon and my kids love it!
