I have a question about posting. Are we supposed to wait and post in a certain order? Like Auri, Sphen, Bonzo, then me? Or does it matter? It only matters during combat. Outside of combat, you can post in whatever order you wish.

Okay I have another question. Sorry. For our skills were we supposed to check off all the ones that are listed under our class skills? Or was it just pick ten skills and put the ranks in those?

Check off all the ones listed under class skills. That's so you know what counts as a class skill. You can put points into those skills later

athn64, How do I fill out the Domains/Specialty school section of the character sheet? Why are there 9 check boxes on each level? Sorry, I've been trying to look this up, but I've been having trouble finding the answers.

auri, that is a section for you to write in your spells. The domain/specialty school is for you to fill in with the domains you chose. The levels marked 0-9 are the different spell levels and the check boxes are not that important. You can use them to check off each time you cast a spell per day.

Some more detail on this one, if I may. You should check off all the ones listed as class skills, because the first (and only the first) time you put a rank into a class skill, you get a +3 bonus to it. That's the main use of the Misc. Modifier column under the skills section. You can put ranks where ever you feel like, into whatever you want your character to be good and/or trained in. The class skills are to represent what a character class would conceivably be better at than a common townsfolk.

athn64 Ok, I have a couple of questions now that we are in battle. I did a quick pray action at the cathedral earlier...but I didn't say I was granted any spells....should I have done that then? If so, I'll keep that in mind for the future. How far can we move? My speed is 30 feet...is that how far I can move in one turn?

Since it is the first day still, you would have prepared your spells before the campaign began, so you have all of them. After this, you will need to state when you prepare them for the day. 30 ft is your movement speed. You can move up to that as your move action and then you have a standard action, which you cam use for spell casting, attacking, an additional move, or other maneuvers. So if you don't want to cast a spell or attack, you can move up to 60 ft.

Thanks for clearing that up. Is drawing a weapon and preparing a shield a move action? Or a standard action?

Thanks for clearing that up. Is drawing a weapon and preparing a shield a move action? Or a standard action? It is part of a move action. As lomg as you don't have something else in your hand you can draw your weapon as you move your 30 ft, like Coinstone did in his first turn.

If I want to sneak up behind the goblins would I need to roll a stealth check? And am I wearing armor so I can only go 20 feet?

Okay scratch that. So could I walk the ten feet to him while pulling my weapon and attack him?
Im really sorry if these are stupid questions, I swear I will get the hang of it.

In the future, if you want to sneak up on someone you would need to roll stealth check. However, if you are being actively observed, you cannot use it. If they haven't observed you yet, but you are in an open area without cover (Like the town square), it is a -20 on the roll.

I didn't know you could use the Heal skill this way. I thought using it to actually restore hit points took hours of in game time. Learned something new.

I am aware now I maybe should have chosen a better weapon While it's not the most mechanically effective weapon, it sure has flavor. And as you're playing a class that doesn't tend to focus super heavy on weapon damage but on your sneak attack damage, flavor is great. Also, you're sneak attack should be rolled separately from you're weapon damage. It is added on top of the damage total, but isn't affected by things like critical hit modifiers and such, so it should at least be shown that this particular amount of damage is the sneak attack damage.

mischief, auri, sphen, bonzo from here on out, if you have a mechanics question about how something works in game, please use the discussion thread. Just to keep from cluttering up the gameplay thread.

No worries. I will still answer questions posed in the gameplay thread, but will most likely tag over to this one and answer here. It's more about keeping the flow of the game than anything else.

I might not be able to get online much from tomorrow through Monday. I'll try to pop in to take my turns, but if I can't get online please don't worry about waiting for me.

athn64 , since the cart is on fire and smoking could I use a sneak attack if I go around the cart and attack the chanter diagonally? Or directly behind her?

You would haveto use stealth so that she didn't know you were there. Which makes you move at half your speed. It would be better to move into flanking with Coinstone. You wouldn't halve your speed and can still use sneak attack.

I almost asked about flanking but when I went to look at the pictures of the last few rounds they were broken. Once again I apologize for being such a noob, but I think I am starting to get the hang of it.

If you can get to where the goblin is directly between you and an ally (in this case Coinstone), you will have flanking. And anytime you have flanking, you can also use your sneak attack dice. I forget if you're the yellow or red marker, but either of them can get behind the goblin without provoking an attack of opportunity and still only use 30 feet of movement. Also, which color are you?
