What’s everyone up to this Wednesday? For those of you of in the hurricane zones, are we staying safe? Evacuating?
Also, let’s see them babies!
Or babies and toddlers seeing as three of our O17s have now turned 1!

danvers, and CoachTsWife I think we may be next 😭 but there maybe 1 or 2 more babies before ours. curmudgeon I wasn’t helpful yesterday but I just remembered this am if you want to dry up your milk, peppermint will do that...so think peppermint tea or anything peppermint will help dwindle your milk. I love peppermint but have been avoiding it at all cost to maintain my supply. Also maybe start pumping just enough to not feel too ful and I think your body will eventually get the memo and produce less and less milk.

So far so good. Lil fella was up early just like yesterday and he’s napping now 45 mins! Gave me enough time to tidy up the house, take the garbage and recycling out since it’s pick up day and make his congee and sommering some more chicken broth to use in his congees. I also added black eyed peas butternut squash and broccoli. Hoping he’ll like that combo. Sitting down now and pinteresting hard for his bday cake and DS Halloween costume.

**triggers for death and pet death** duskymonkey you didn't miss anything about my mom, I didn't post it because we all have loss you know? First of all it was 9/11 which already leaves a somber note to the day. 9/11 is also the anniversary of my mothers' husbands death, 7 years this year. I didn't know him very well (they were married 5 years) so I mostly grieve for her loss. And to top it all off, she got a call as she was driving out here that her 18 year old cat was dying. The woman who was pet sitting sat with him all day and brought him into the vet to be put down. So, yeah. Rough week for my mom

In more upbeat news, E STTN the night before last for the first time since she was probably 4 months old. It was really surprising and I had briefly hoped it would happen again last night. It did not, lol. However, I'm hopeful that maybe sttn will make more appearances now. It doesn't have to be every night, but you know, maybe dont be a stranger!

Oh. And I found mold in my 360 sippy cup straw today, so f that. I just threw it out since scrubbing it with the pipe cleaner it came with didn't do much. I'm annoyed because its E's most favorite sippy cup and with our poop issues I NEED her to be drinking more water. Which she wont out of other cups.
Sigh.

cythe Mould in cups is the worst. I've lost a few over the years... And I try to buy the ones with the least amount of nooks and crannies. duskymonkey Do you have a congee receipe? DH and DD1 likes it when the MIL makes it but I've never tried doing it myself. I think the baby would really like it. And I got the elusive double nap this afternoon but now the baby is up and babbling. I have to wake the big one up so we can go to an appointment. That hour and a half flew by.

I had a meeting for the preschool co-op for DS1 this morning. I can't believe he's so big already. He starts preschool on Friday. I'm cuddling him while we watch the daniel Tiger about starting school now. DS2 has given up sleep. We haven't had less than 4 wakeups this month. I'm a zombie.

cythe yes - ugh to sippy cup mold. DD1 loved those 360s. We only let her use water with those cups because I was afraid of mold - which most definitely did grow in some of her straw supply cups! Now DD2 only takes milk from munchkin straw cups with their eleventy billionnparts and I feel like mold is inevitable someday. August Blooms I swear time goes faster when they’re napping. Like how can a load of laundry and maybe sitting to eat a sandwich suddenly equal an entire naptime? trinitrotoluene what all does a preschool coop entail? I’ve not heard of such a thing around here before.

duskymonkey thanks for the tips! I’m so torn because I still nurse in the evenings and exclusively on weekends. So I don’t know if I should just power through a 5am pumping session for another month. 1 year was my goal and it’s so close.

danvers, there is one hired teacher in charge of each class, then parents rotate filling in as aids, providing snacks, cleaning the classroom, etc. Each family also has a job for the school such as safety coordinator or substitute teacher. It's cheaper than most other options, and i like the level of involvement.
