I have the week of Thanksgiving off. I am seriously considering putting the kids in half-day camps for two days just so I can get rid of stuff in peace. You should totally do this. I always enjoy my kids immensely more when someone else has tired them out a bit/they appreciate being home to veg out instead of asking me what we’re going to doooooo today! God yes. I’ve already committed to science camp for the second week of Christmas break. Every year I take off most of the break and then H takes off what I can’t. Every year they are beasts a few days in. Not this year! When I told my mom I was only taking off a couple days this year she offered to watch them for free and I was like “No. trust that you do not want that.” It’s why I took off thanksgiving instead but if I can find something affordable and half-day for two of five days....

WHY WON'T MY TODDLER SLEEEP? WHYYYYYY? I did all the sleep training I was supposed to. I wish I could've tied him down in the crib forever. The waking up every 45 - 60 minutes is killing me. KILLING ME. Oh no, I'm sorry. How old? And please don't tell me there are more sleep regressions to come. 3. He was sleeping like a champ until he climbed out of the crib at 20 or 21 months. It's been hell since then. We will go through spurts of good sleeping but lately I think it's a mixture of jealousy of the new baby and nightmares. I'm at a loss as to what I should do.

Sometime I forget the time difference, and I was like, "Quite the lazy morning, Tlex!" (It's 12:30 here.) Hope you feel better! I feel lazy-shamed, but also like it might be justified. Only if it wasn't 12:30 in your time zone! 😉

Hugs Minerva. That’s rough news to absorb. We had friends whose son was in what sounds like a similar situation and it all worked out eventually but it was very stressful for them when he was little.

Minerva, I’m so sorry. I had a friend who had thier son go through the catheter procedure last year with huge success so far. He was just over 2 years old, but she said she saw a a big difference after the holes were closed.

Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary. So awkward, I am not buying her a gift, but still feel like we should do something since we are still married... Last year (we were seperated but still pretending things might work out), we did an awkward dinner & forced small talk. This year, after a brief moment that morning getting my emotions in check, I ignored the day completely & it was so much better. If you want to have dinner together, have a relaxed dinner & small talk. If its to much emotionally, have a treat yourself day. If you feel like you want to see her/be with her that day without of pressure of it being a special day, take the kids somewhere like Chuck E Cheese together. Do whatever feels right for *you*

I don't hate guitar guy, but if I was his kid, I would be extremely embarrassed. Why would you do that to your kid?

My tote of 9 month baby clothes is missing. I guess I’m consigning my newborn to 3 month stuff to buy 9 month.

I cannot handle guitar guy. It just seems so far out of reality to think you should follow your kid down the hallway playing a song on a goddamn instrument every single day.

I hate when I am in the middle of an important conversation with STBX & I say something he obviously doesn't want to hear, & he goes radio silence on me.
We had been talking about DD2, who has been very emotional lately over the divorce. Everything was fine, he was responding right back to my messages, & then I suggested he take the kids Friday & Saturday night this week to spend some extra time with her, because he will be gone all of next weekend & won't have them at all.
...Hello??....crickets. That was 3 hours ago & I've heard nothing from him since.

E’s cardiology appointment was this morning. It looks like she will eventually need surgery to fix the holes in her heart because they aren’t improving on their own. I’m still processing things. They are hoping to be able to do it w/ a catheter rather than open chest, which is a relief, and they will try to wait a couple years for her to grow to reduce the risks of anesthesia. 😕 My son was 4 when we found out his ASD needed corrective surgery. He needed open heart after another issue was found during the catheter. If you have any questions, I'm here. Hugs!

She’s only 18 months, so we probably have at least 1.5 years until we take corrective steps. She’s a little bundle of spunk and energy - you’d never guess she has a CHD from her behavior.

Mine had 1 ASD and PAPVR, which is essentially a misguided vein that was feeding into his heart instead of his lung. That's what they didn't know about until the cath. His heart is considered completely normal now thank goodness! Best of luck!

I bet the Dad in my neighborhood who follows his 1 year old around with a flute and guitar ends up being guitar dad at school drop off.
