Hi Ladies. Sorry I have not participated much these last few days. I think the lack of sleep and craziness of back to school has really worn me down. I'm going to bed at 9:30 tonight and NO children (besides Bea) better come into my bed and wake me up unless they are dying. I warned everyone they would get marched right back into their in beds, bad dream or no bad dream.
Hoping to catch up on the last couple days at Starbucks tomorrow.

I’m flying to Ireland tomorrow night and i don’t have a book to bring. Help. What should i run to B&N and buy tomorrow? Warlight, The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and The Death of Mrs Westaway (currently reading) are all on my nightstand at the moment. My mom just finished Kristin Hannah's (author of The Nightingale) latest The Great Alone, said "it was good up to a point but the unrelenting harshness/negativity/evil did (me) in, and I didn't care about the ending" (per her email). So maybe avoid that one unless you're in the mood to be depressed? LOL. If you haven't read/seen it, Crazy Rich Asians is a really fun and intelligent read. eta: If you haven't read Chris Pavone's books, The Ex-Pats and The Accident are both very good. Random, but those just popped into my head. Set in Europe so kind of different.

@snoopmomymom if you want a fun read try the Rosie project. I’m currently reading a series by Elizabeth Jane Howard, more like s family saga.

snoopmommymom for historical fiction, havevread both these recently and loved : I, Eliza (based on life of Eliza Hamilton (Alexander’s wife) America’s First Daughter (Thomas Jefferson’s family) An older one I enjoyed was The Other Boleyn Girl...Phillipa Gregory writes a good one if you haven’t read any of hers.

We are not a huge family but I still want a tank for road trips and flexibility.
My Volvo has a third row but it’s small (best for kids). DH has a full-size truck. His next car will be a Tahoe or maybe the GMC version (Yukon?) and I cannot wait; having more enclosed cargo room will be great.

snoopmommymom those are all WW2 fiction as that's what I tend to read most. I particularly liked the Garden of Stones book, as it was from the POV of a Japanese American during the war in the US camps. It was a great read - back and forth between present and past, but definitely very intense and depressing. I enjoyed it though, b/c I feel like so much focuses on Europe and Jews during the war, and I liked that this was about what happened here.

I stopped at the dealership and test drove a Chrysler Pacifica and now I want a new car right now 😬 We are not planning to get a new vehicle until late next summer in anticipation of baby 3.
