Bonus points for bloat, blump, bump pics 😊 Weeks pregnant: 17 Baby is the size of a: pomegranate FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM Team: Finding out next week! Finally! Appointments: A/S next Wednesday Symptoms: heartburn, some RLP, occasional headaches, shortness of breath, getting tired easily, weird dreams, hungry often Milestones: nothing that I can think of but sooo excited to see LO and find out the sex next week! The US tech guessed girl at 12w but since it was so early I’m hesitant to feel confident and excited about it being a girl yet. Rants/Raves/Vents: DD woke up MOTN 3x last week for random reasons (her sock fell off, had to go to the bathroom, just because) and it took me 20min- an hour to get her back to sleep either in my bed or laying with her in her bed. Grateful she STTN last night. Hoping she doesn’t make a habit of getting up at night! Took her 13mo to STTN and she’s woken up maybe 5x MOTN total since then.. until last week 🙄 Also really hoping I can get her to go to sleep by herself soon bc I still lay with her until she’s out and it’s getting old. MH and I used to watch a show after she went down but I’ve been passing out with her lately and end up going strait to bed when MH comes in to wake me up.. leaving little time for MH and I to hang out at night. GTKY: Did you play a sport or an instrument growing up? I swam and played water polo in high school ETA bump pic

When I went to pick up more diclegis this week, the pharmacist was like OMG you still feel sick?! Milestones: happy to have had a good anatomy scan! Rants/Raves/Vents: I'm so happy we've had a couple cooler days. It was almost 100 all last week and I just can't deal with the swelling any more! Weeks pregnant: 21 Baby is the size of a: baby bok choy FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM Team: green Appointments: not til next month Symptoms: peeing all the time, weird dreams Milestones: had anatomy scan last week Rants/Raves/Vents: Rant: This morning a parent of a kid I see said to me: “you’re not pregnant are you?!” And “do you know how babies are made?” Then she said I hope it’s a girl and I said we don’t know. And she said “as long as you know it’s the last one” 🤨😏 Rave: even though I’ve gained lots of weight and am eating all the things, I’m proud of myself for still being able to run with the double stroller. I’m legit sad I won’t be able to run with all 3 kids next year, so I’m trying to soak it up. I also just got a maternity support belt that I’m hoping will let me run until delivery 😬. GTKY: Did you play a sport or an instrument growing up? soccer

Weeks pregnant: 15+4 Baby is the size of a: Eggo waffle FTM/STM/TTM/etc: FTM Team: Secret Appointments: OB on Thurs. So many questions piled up. I hope our discussion around delivery goes well bc otherwise I am going to get a new OB. Symptoms: Got a couple days of semi-energy over the last week, that feels really hopeful. Forgot Unisom Sat night and yesterday was miserable with nausea (and allergies - apparently it's like Benedryl so either it's holding off my fall allergies or I had rebound allergy symptoms after being on it for months?). Headaches on and off. Milestones: DH and I decided on a nursery design, yay! I'm just glad it's not Super Mario decals or something. Oh andplusalso we finally had sex again last night (it's been 7 weeks, and has only happened three times since the BFP - because of bleeding scares). I've had virtually no spotting for over a week now, it's amazing how much more hopeful I feel about the pregnancy without seeing blood all day long! We were really careful but it seemed fine so maybe we'll try again soon. I feel completely differently about life now, it's amazing how disconnected and just off you can feel without actual sex, even though we've been able to..."find loopholes" as my therapist called it! Rants/Raves/Vents: My mom is one of those people who tries to control everyone and everything around her through any manipulative tactic necessary. We grilled and had a family campfire this weekend and she kept trying to boss me about what I was and wasn't allowed to do. When I reminded her that me, my dr, and MH are the ones who decide that, she was like, "ok do what you want and I just told your dad we won't come over again until the baby's born if I think you do too much." I just rolled my eyes at her but I am honestly quite nervous about what it will be like to have her as a grandparent. It's going to be tricky navigating. GTKY: Did you play a sport or an instrument growing up? No sports. DH and I joke that we'll be so bored if Baby L wants us to come to sports games or something lol. But I played clarinet pretty seriously.

Weeks pregnant: 16+2 Baby is the size of an: avocado FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM Team: Girl Appointments: Thursday! Just anxious for a heartbeat. Symptoms: A touch of RLP and a little tired but that's normal. Feeling really good actually, it is kind of crazy. Second tri energy is starting to hit a bit! Milestones: Nothing of note Rants/Raves/Vents: Having fun slowly leaking the news! GTKY: Did you play a sport or an instrument growing up? Track, volleyball, show choir.

Bonus points for bloat, blump, bump pics 😊 Weeks pregnant: 17w5d Baby is the size of a: pomegranate / turnip? (how are those the same size -- come on now. ) FTM/STM/TTM/etc: FTM Team: boy Appointments: monthly ob/gyn next monday; anatomy scan a week from friday Symptoms: gas, some fatigue, but otherwise OK! Milestones: broke the news at work; talking to HR today about maternity leave (why is that so complicated?) Rants/Raves/Vents: biggest way-in-the-future-stress right now is trying to wrap my head around childcare / nanny-shares. info online seems really sparse and kind of terrible. any tips? (hard to even find any info on these message boards ... might not be looking hard enough?) GTKY: Did you play a sport or an instrument growing up? clarinet + violin, though not for long for each. have a ukulele and guitar in the house ... largely collecting dust.

kayemtee61, childcare was and is the biggest challenge I've faced as a mom. Right now we have a nanny watch my daughter in-home. It's been working out well, but it's overwhelmingly expensive and I feel like my daughter's missing out not playing with other kids. We are trying to set up a nanny share by searching for another family that might be interested. I've posted on Nextdoor.com and a local childcare FB group, with a few responses but not much results yet. I think the most natural situations are with someone you know, friends of friends, or neighbors.

Hi! I'm new, just jumping in here -- I hope to be around to participate! Weeks pregnant: 17w4d Baby is the size of a: pomegranate/video game controller FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM Team: finding out Appointments: Not until October -- just scheduled my anatomy scan and they can't get me in until October 11! That seems like approximately a million years from now... Symptoms: some fatigue, but that may be from chasing around my other two small children Milestones: I finally got the courage to join in here! I may have been lurking a while. Rants/Raves/Vents: my three year old decided sleep was for losers last night and didn't go to sleep until after 11:30. He better not take a nap today! I'm so tired and can't focus on anything at work. GTKY: Did you play a sport or an instrument growing up? I played cello and piano from 6th grade all the way through high school. I still have my cello, but don't ever play. I should dust it off sometime.

Weeks pregnant: 17
Baby is the size of a: large order of fries
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: Finding out
Appointments: Just had one Friday. Anatomy scan and next appointment set for October 5th!
Symptoms: Headaches. Heart burn. Nausea. Food aversions. Leg swelling. Finally some 2nd tri energy!
Milestones: Feeling some sporadic movement. Good check up and heartbeat on Friday
Rants/Raves/Vents: Finally feeling like a human for the first time since my BFP. 1st tri kicked my butt this time! PGAL is fading some.
So is anyone else not out IRL? My anxiety has been so bad I've afraid to tell people about this pregnancy because I was worried something would happen. After a good heartbeat check this past week I'm finally feeling a little better. I'm finally ready to start telling people. I mean my parents don't even know yet, and they live 2 miles from us and I see them weekly. My sisters and friends don't know either. And of course no one at work has a ckue. I hate attention and don't want to make a big announcement but also don't want to have to tell a ton of people individually. I can't disguise the bump much longer though!
GTKY: Did you play a sport or an instrument growing up? I played percussion in middle and high school. I marched cymbals and my school for to march in the Macy's Parade and the Rose Bowl parade. I also played piano from 3rd grade through high school.

@amc, Thank you for that. How did you get diagnosed?
I did mention it. She told me to watch for itching of the hands and feet, or changes in stool.

Weeks pregnant: 19+3 Baby is the size of a: tomato FTM/STM/TTM/etc: STM Team: green Appointments: just had anatomy scan last week! So amazing to see so much of this little babe! Everything looks great and healthy. I expressed my concerns for a recurrence of preeclampsia and my midwife put me at ease a little and has me starting baby aspirin. Symptoms: RLP, lots of movement, CRAZY dreams Milestones: almost half way!!! Rants/Raves/Vents: I haven’t been able to get back into a good workout routine. So different with my first pregnancy where I was getting to Crossfit 5-6x/wk. I’m trying hard not to beat myself up GTKY: Did you play a sport or an instrument growing up? I ran track through college. I also sang in choirs- that counts as a instrument, right? Bonus bump:

@amc, Thank you for that. How did you get diagnosed? I did mention it. She told me to watch for itching of the hands and feet, or changes in stool. There's a couple of blood tests they can run to check for it: bile acids and liver enzymes, but the bile acids is the main one for diagnosis. Another potential symptom to look out for is right upper quadrant pain, which is from the liver and/or gallbladder, and can be felt right under ribs on the right side or be referred to the back, typically right around the shoulder blade. Pale stool, dark urine, and jaundice are some of the less common symptoms. While itching of the hands and feet is the typical location, it can be anywhere on the body. Definitely trust your instincts and push for testing if things don't feel quite right. www.icpcare.org is a great source of info on ICP, if you want to read up more on it. I wondered about this with my last pregnancy and again this time. My itching is really just on my legs, but it drives me crazy some days! I should be having additional blood work done next month, so I may have my dr check this. Thanks for sharing your experience!

I'm also itching and have been since about 5 weeks. I don't think it's either PUPPS or ICP though. It looks like small bug bites on my hands that come and go. It's worst in the evenings where I'll have a bunch of them. My OB was unconcerned and said it was an effect of extra estrogen. It's only mildly annoying, same as a mosquito bite except doesn't last as long. I don't know what it is, but I didn't get it in previous pregnancies.

Weeks pregnant: 16+5
Baby is the size of a: Philippine tarsier
FTM/STM/TTM/etc: TTM
Team: Finding Out
Appointment: Monday afternoon. I imagine we will schedule the A/S after it.
Symptoms: All. The. Sex. Dreams. And also BH, RLP, some nausea still, and restless leg has started.
Milestones: Outside movement! Doesn't happen a lot but it's happening more frequently which is nice.
Rants/Raves/Vents: These sex dreams. They're almost exclusively about a guy that used to work in our dealership but he moved up to our sister location earlier this year. I have no idea why he's the main star but it's frustrating. It's messing with my ability to stay in the mood when H and I try to have sex :/ Over it.
GTKY: Did you play a sport or an instrument growing up? Up until high school, I did track, cross country, volleyball, basketball, choir, and played the piano and flute for awhile. Once I got into high school, though, I stuck to just choir and show choir. Tried out choir in college but didn't enjoy it as much and my horse major took up most of my time anyway.

Add me in to being stressed about childcare. It averages around 900 a month here to take baby into daycare. We can’t afford it. I think I mentioned when we bought our house a year ago they really messed up the escrow and our mortgage is going up hundreds of dollars this month which was a huge chunk of money we had counted on for daycare costs.

The cost of childcare is a huge part of why I am mostly a sahm (I work very part time). We would have been paying more in childcare than I was making, and with commutes and DH's travel for work it just would not have made sense to keep working full time.
