Dude reports he made some new friends so this morning wasn't such a tearful drop-off. He wanted me to linger but that's nothing new.

Thank you for checking! I actually went online and they must have had one pair of 6s returned so I ordered them last night! Was hoping for 7s, but they should still fit.

DH is taking Colin to Dick's to pick up a soccer ball and shin guards for Chase (if they make them that small). I may have reminded him about needing to go after he mentioned having an open block of time this morning. I just want an hour of quiet to myself and now I'm getting it!!

Josie’s preschool has the option of walking in or a car drop off. Definitely looking forward to it in the frigid temperatures and rainy days!

@klongoria I get the anxiety, but Lucas had braces for awhile too when he was younger, and obviously know he has the cochlears, and my experience has always been the other kids are curious and think it’s cool. They think the fact that he has magnets in his head is the most awesome thing ever.

I wish rylands preschool had drop off. I hate having to drag c out of the car everyone. When he’s at Landon’s school next year I’ll be able to just kick them out at the curb,lol.

I’m actually super jealous of all the rainy, chilly weather. It’s still in the 100’s here and I’m over it. I’m ready to trade our pool days in for hikes and beers on patios.

Anyway, not much here today. Landon was not looking or acting like he felt well this morning, but I kept getting different readings on our thermometer and he wanted to go to school so I sent him. I fully expecting to get a call to go get him, but I’m hoping I can get to the gym before that happens. Then we have two soccer practices tonight.

Morning! My kids are being entertained by Alexa while I finally enjoy my coffee. Had to give Ev a bath this morning because she had some weird stringy thing going on with her hair and it's picture day. I think H must have left some soap in last night or something. Of course Theo wanted to get in the bath too. Sure kid, go nuts.

New door is finally in (only took a week) and I absolutely love it, but now I want a new sidelight too. Isn't that how it goes? You improve one thing and it makes everything else look shabby. H is going to price carpenters to get one built to match. Much excite.

On a totally random note, I swapped out the 24 month pants from Chase's drawer with the 2Ts over the summer. He's been in 2T shirts for ages but the 24 month pants were still fine, length-wise, this spring. I never swapped out his pants in his daycare cubby (or added in shorts - whoops), so he came home one day last week in a pair of sweatpants that would have fared well in a flood. MOTY. Anyhow there weren't all that many pairs of 2T pants among Colin's hand-me-downs and I was ready to buy a few more inexpensive pairs until I realized this morning that Chase is actually almost ready for 3Ts. I don't remember Colin having such sudden and noticeable growth spurts (though OMG the kid is due!!) but all I can see when I look at Chase lately is the extra height. My baby is growing so fast.

I did this for the UPS driver who serves the stop outside daycare. He's always quick but super friendly and willing to let the kids peek into the box or scan packages for him. They were really responsive and sent the kudos on to his manager, and now I always try to remember to follow-up whenever someone leaves such a positive impression.

I'm sorry to hear about your colleague mamabear, what a shame. Things like that always remind you to not take a single day for granted. I think flowers or a sympathy card to his family would be a lovely gesture.

Looks like we might get to go to FL after all...DH came home for lunch (why you interrupting my solo time, dude?) and said they'll probably cut everyone loose after COB tomorrow. The city is out trimming trees in our 'hood today to get them off the lines, but if we get even *some* wind, we'll likely lose power, and the thought of being here with no electricity this weekend is not delightful. Sooo I think we might risk the terrible traffic and hit the road either tomorrow or super early Wed.

In the meantime, I was able to score two Lilly dresses for C before the site crashed this morning. Cue angry ranting women on FB, who seemed surprised that this happened (even thought the site crashes EVERY YEAR).

joelies you’re not alone. I bought a whole bunch of clothes for dd, I need to exchange most of them for one size up. Ds was 32mo when he was dd’s size (26mo) i was just way off.

I noticed he had swelling behind his right ear yesterday evening, so I took him in to the pedi this morning thinking it’s just his lymph nodes. Well he has a lot of different things happening including a little wheezing, teeth coming in, an ear infection, and the swelling is not lymph nodes, so they are sending us up to Children’s ER so their ENT can check him out. The pedi mentioned possible mastoiditis, but not sure. My poor baby. 😞
