chrisy01 I didn't want to hijack your new thread. Would he be more willing to eat if he had a hand in making dinner? Could he stir or dump or add seasoning? I know there isn't always time to let them help but maybe more? Maybe ask him how it can taste better? Mh always adds salt to my stuff

He ate tonight’s dinner. I do have him help when I can but it doesn’t matter. If he thinks it smells odd he won’t taste it. He picked this habit up at my parents. I’m sure it will end soon.

S recently went through this phase. Even if it was his favorite (noodles and sauce). He would walk in the kitchen and declare ‘this dinner smells gross’. And then ‘but mom, I’m just not hungry’ When like 5 minutes earlier he had asked for a snack so I knew damn well he was hungry. We finally put our foot down on eating anything else unless he ate at least some of his dinner (I know most people don’t agree with this - but our house rule is he has to eat at least one bite of everything on his plate and more of whatever the protein is). Once he realized we meant business, it slowly started to improve. But it sucked going through it. Sorry

mwhip that is so strange that they have never made any effort in 3 years and then barely give you the time of day when you take their kid around the neighborhood. But did you ever talk to the mom or just the dad? I feel like dad's might be oblivious to meth houses It was just the dad, the mom wasn't outside. I think he's her stepdad because when we first moved in, it was just him there. They're friendly and wave at us, so maybe they figure we are okay.
