I was on call last weekend so I feel like it was a crazy long week even though it technically was a short week. It is supposed to rain all weekend here and I think we will go to the museum with the dinosaur exhibit.

Good morning! MH got up with the baby so I slept until G woke up at 7:40. Then he went to get bagels for us for breakfast. Not a terrible way to start the day.
I am going to get a pedicure today and do some cleaning. Other than that, no plans today.

Good morning!
DD slept very very poorly last night. So many wakeups and very awake at 4:45. She sleeps in one the days I have to get up and then partys on the few mornings I get to sleep a little more. My only hope is that I'm depriving H of sleep too so he'll get on board with sleep training.
No plans this weekend so far. We were batting around the idea of going camping, but we're supposed to get thunderstorms this afternoon and tomorrow and that would be miserable with the dogs.
I also need to go kick H off his computer so I can finish my resume and cover letter and apply for a new job that my former boss is recommending me for. The imposter syndrome is real and I've been really struggling with my application.

Good morning and happy weekend! We have a pretty mellow weekend for the first time in awhile so I'm excited to relax.
For moms doing purees, when did you switch from Stage 1 to Stage 2?

I switched when he started sitting up independently without support. Now he is outright crawling so we are dabbling in stage 3s. He doesn’t love them and prefers our food to the chunky purées. It’s going to sound silly but I just went by what was on the container.

Morning! pinkcat I also switched when independently sitting. We added puffs, bars, and similar things at that point, too. DD2 actually prefers table food over anything now. Much easier and cheaper than purées so that’s cool in my book. She started crawling last weekend and is almost 7 months for reference. I am switching both girls seasonal clothes out today. Holy god. So many clothes. I always have to get a pile for the next season for the sitter too. Tomorrow we have our nephews 3rd birthday party at an inside play-place. I’m only brining DD1 and looking forward to it.

I don't know how to get over being so nervous about choking though...I tried mum mums but got too nervous and stopped lol. How do you decide when they are ready for something besides a puree?

This time around I was super worried about choking and I have no idea. Someone here had posted something about how babies that it regular foods and less purees actually choke less. Whoever it was, please post it again because it eased my mind a bit. It reminded me that gagging =/= choking. They are supposed to gag a little when they are getting used to new foods. FYI mum mums melt pretty easily so there is little choking risk. Last night my little man was eating pasta with us so I didn’t even bother with his purée.

I don’t really think there is a right or wrong time to know. Depends on your child’s interest and your comfort level. We initially started with other soft food and in little bits and go from there. We just monitor closely when she’s eating. If she seems to like it we give more. We have always been team you eat what we eat for meals (not making other special stuff) and so far my oldest is a great eater. soft pasta for lunch today. She loved it and gobbled it up.

For what it’s worth Arden gags on puréed green beans. They are far from her favorite. I agree it’s your comfort level!

Agree with others - do what is your comfort level.
J loves all purees, puffs and mum mums. When he sees us get out the mum mums, he goes crazy in his high chair because he is so excited for it.

DD and my husband are camping right now with my mom/stepdad. They will be home mid-day tomorrow. It has been nice to spend some 1 on 1 time with J. J and I went grocery shopping earlier and it was the first time I put him in the grocery cart seat. He wasn't really sure about it (normally I try to grocery shop without the kids or do online shopping)

Hi!
My oldest has had a rough day. I'm exhausted. We went to the zoo for a couple hours which was really nice. It's cool today and I'm ready for fall now.

sunfrogger so cute!! I’ve been addicted to that stupid HA/MB bst page. I’ve spent way too much money on the girls’ fall and winter wardrobes from there gah! Now I can’t wait for the colder weather so they can start wearing it all

Hi everyone! It’s been a crazy weekend. H has been battling a fever the past couple days and totally hasn’t been herself which has had me a ball of nerves. I called out of work today which sucked but it was a good thing because she was awful this morning. Her fever broke this afternoon and she was so happy and playing and even started to clap! It’s the freaking cutest thing in the world. Aaaand then her fever came back at bedtime tonight ugh.
MH and I are going out for our anniversary tomorrow (our actual anniversary was on Wednesday) so I hope she’s better by then!!

watermelonseed my plan is to box up the girls little clothing and get out their fall stuff too. I’m not looking forward to it because DD1’s dresser contains everything from 18/24 mo to 3t and she wears 3t haha sunfrogger love the outfit! Sorry for the new addiction 😂 amesie I need to stop buying them fall clothes. I think they are more than set. I actually had to unfollow the bst page so I wasn’t tempted but I somehow found my self looking on Friday.

DD1 started gymnastics class yesterday and this year the parents can sit up in a viewing area instead of having to be down on the floor with the kids. She spotted me midway through class and lost it so I had to spend the second half down there with her instead of sitting up top enjoying my coffee. Fx it gets better next week
We went about an hour away yesterday for a joint baby shower for my two cousins (sisters) that are due on the same day. DD1 hung out with all the kids and some babysitters at my Aunt and Uncles house while DD2 came with us and was a huge hit. We didn’t get home until 10:30 so I was hoping the girls would sleep in. We weren’t so lucky. I keep telling myself I’m going to nap on the weekend but that never happens.
There is a music festival downtown today and we are going to head down there after lunch. It’s way cooler today but rainy so hopefully the rain stops and cooler temps stay.

Carters stuff this season actually looks really cute. I need to go get Liv some clothes for our vacation anyway. We're in a weird place between 9mo and 12mo. 9mo is too small or just right but 12mo is just big. The 6-12 boden stuff is a little big. I'm not used to such a peanut! I also scored this.. And when it came to me in the mail I was second thinking. Thoughts?

How do you break it to a toddler who begs to go to daycare each morning that this is his last week and he won't get to play with his friends anymore? I'm sobbing thinking about it. sarahh didn't you go through this awhile ago?

We’re just outgrowing 0-3 months here. I’m having a difficult time finding lightweight 6 month sleepers. It’s not consistently cold enough to wear fleece yet.
The baby got his haircut yesterday and looks so grown it’s making me sad.
