I am having a bath time problem with the baby that I never had with G.
The baby loves to take a bath. He splashes and smiles the whole time. I was using just a bath support seat because buying a bath seemed silly to me since it he is our last baby.
I have sliding glass shower doors. Yesterday when I had him in the bath seat, he started grabbing the edge of the track for the doors and tried to pull himself up or at least closer to the track. Today I decided to get rid of the seat since he would be lower and not be able to reach the track as well. He is a great sitter so I figured I would just wash his hair and his body and then rinse like usual. He can still reach the track! It’s making it soooooo hard to bathe him. He is fighting me hard. I tried to give him a bath toy to distract him. Lol nope. But still wants to try and pull up. He is happy as a clam, just determined to stand in the bath even though he really can’t.
Suggestions? Thoughts? Anecdotes?
TL/DR: the baby is trying to pull up in the bath and he can’t so it just becomes a fight to get him washed without him falling onto the porcelain.

DD3 was/is a climber and bath time was hell for so long. No helpful anecdotes, just sympathies.

Could you cover the track so he can’t see it? Like put a towel over the track?

She started walking at 11 Months so I think she got some of her need to climb and such done outside of the bath. But if he is anything like she was... good luck mama. We waited until like, 13 or 14 months to put a baby gate on the stairs. I kept trying to ‘teach’ her not to go up without me. Didn’t work. We put the gate up, and she scaled the outside of the stairs and railing. There was just no stopping her. And she still, at 3, is constantly on top of things. Like three shelves up in the pa try, on counters, on top of bookshelves. She is the reason that every single piece of furniture is bolted to our wall. Nothing is out of reach unless it is locked inside something.

He seems to want to get into all the things. G was walking by 10m so maybe he will be the same in the respect. Ugh. Here comes all trouble. Lol

Early crawlers, but ultimately not into much. DD1 never put anything in her mouth. DD2 I had to watch a little more, but really she wasn’t a lot of trouble. DD3, OMG. It was nuts. She is still incredibly feisty, independent, and into everything. She is also the best snuggler, grabs my cheeks and tells me I’m beautiful, and overall loves fiercely. Kids man. They are crazy.

Liv doesn't sit still in the tub. It drives me nuts.
I only sometimes use the little tub anymore. Now that she can sit independently its a different ball game. We have the Boone tub mat. It was the longest one I could find and covers my whole tub. So she usually just sits in there with her sister, I clean her sister then her, and then she gets out and em gets a little more water to play in (since I don't fill a ton with O in).

Pulling up and climbing out in this context just means your baby loves to stand in the tub? I just let baby stand in the tub 🤷♀️ We don't use any equipment in the tub like seats or baby bathtubs. If you are right there supervising I don't see an issue and with kid #3 I have learned it is not worth the fight sometimes!! All of my kids have gone through this phase.

It was would be less problematic if he was able to do it well. He doesn’t really get a good footing despite the bath math being in there. He just ends up sort of hanging off of the door track with his stomach up against the tub. This makes it very difficult to clean him and water gets everywhere while trying to rinse him off. He also lets go so he falls. It’s a pain in the ass.
