So much for needing just a half size bigger shoe. I went to Skechers and I couldn't get her into any of those damn shoes. Ended up at a specialty kids shoe store and they were super helpful and knowledgeable. We'll be going there for our future shoes even after the braces are done. Oh and her size went from an 11 to a 13. Glad you had success, and that you found a great children's shoe store. They are a dying breed, which is a shame. |

We just finished at the visitation. They had a short prayer service at the end that was very nice. We are on our way to pick up the girls and bedtime is going to be late. Fx there are no bedtime fights.

First day of school was a success. DS loved middle school even though the bus was late coming and going and with the half day he only met half his teachers. DD commented on the lack of girls in her class but more of an observation than a disappointment. We went swimming at a friend’s house then DD had a 3 hour practice. H is at the US Open so I had to keep the little boys awake to pick her up at 9. T has his first day tomorrow and the big kids have another 1/2 day for heat.

Ugh.
Dude cried real tears tonight at bedtime saying he feels lonely and he doesn't have any friends.
He said he plays all alone at recess.

Oh man, inthekitty. That's rough. My sister was a tomboy, too, and it wasn't easy for her when she was young. I hope Maddie can find her little tribe who will appreciate her for the awesome, spunky kid that she is. |

So C and I had a talk today. On days he doesn’t work late shifts he will come home and handle bath and bed for LO. He agreed that it was not right to even ask to go to the gym over helping with the kids since I do both drop off and pickup. I told him I understand that he doesn’t want to break the habit of going to the gym and will help make those nights go a little quicker (getting dinner on the way home or have a crockpot dinner ready) so that he can still have time at night to go.

We're going back to Legoland this weekend and I'm hoping that takes his mind off it a bit. And I was thinking maybe next Saturday, the 15th I should see if L wants to do a sleepover? Dude keeps saying he wants to show him Avengers: Infinity War. |

inthekitty I was a tomboy growing up (i still am in some ways). It’s hard but I ended up just hanging out with the boys and making friends with them. You are doing great by supporting her. I wish my mom did that, instead she made me wear Uber frilly dresses (hated every minute of it).

I’m sorry cagoldi  . Those are big emotions for a little kid, but it’s great he’s talking to you and hopefully he’ll find his groove and I have no doubt that he’ll find his little group in no time. Hugs, friend. I’m sure that’s a lot or hear. |

snoopmommymom that is the best picture! What a great feeling as a mom to see that. cagoldi poor dude. He's a nice kid and will make friends. I hope he doesn't get discouraged. Maybe ask the teacher if what he says is true. My friend says her son always says that but the teacher says it isn't the case. Maybe he can play on the drums and sing a song about his feelings?

So one of my high school friends posted today on FB that she has to go back to work on Monday or she will lose her job. She had a baby via c-section 6 weeks as of next Monday. I thought all states gave 8 weeks for a c-section. Am I wrong? She’s pretty sad over it.

So one of my high school friends posted today on FB that she has to go back to work on Monday or she will lose her job. She had a baby via c-section 6 weeks as of next Monday. I thought all states gave 8 weeks for a c-section. Am I wrong? She’s pretty sad over it. I always thought 8 weeks for C section, too. Is she in IA? |

We made it to the hotel for the night-just M2 and I. We have to be at the outpatient center at 630am. It’s over an hour away from home and I didn’t want to have to leave super early to avoid the horrible morning traffic with the road construction going on. Also hoping I can keep him asleep until we make it to the center because he can’t have any milk or drinks past 430am.
