Is there a reason you want him to take it cold, goldenbird? For me, I found it easiest to use room temp water, especially out and about. Throw a bottle of water and a formula container in the diaper bag and mix as needed. At home I kept a gallon of water out with formula in his room and our kitchen to mix up as needed too. Also, this thing was great not just for on the go, but at night. Measure out for three bottles before bed, then dump into bottles that were pre-filled with water. No need to measure anything. It doesn’t sound like much, but it helps a lot when you’re sleep deprived. www.walmart.com/ip/Munchkin-Formula-Dispenser-Turquoise/42732891

Just so we can use the forumla pitcher without having to warm it first. Ideally if he took it room temp and cold interchangeably that would be great. But if he won't take it cold then he won't.

Oh , gotcha. I never used the pitcher so I didnt think of that.

People please stop with the cutesy chalkboards for 1st day pics. You are neither cute nor original. This is the dumbest fad. I don’t do it because I think I’m original. I want to see how the answers change over the years. It’s like lazy scrapbooking for me. Lord knows I’m not going to sit down and put pictures in a book with the answers there.

I never premade formula. Is there a reason to? I did just like what Dr. Cox, said. It took as much time as going to the fridge and pouring the bottle.

Not golden bird but we did cold so we could use the pitcher. Mixing on the spot was too much air and caused R’s spitting to be even worse. So we did the formula pitcher and he took cold milk. Out and about I took 2 bottles with an ice pack in a bottle cooler thing that hooked on my diaper bag. If he finished one I would mix another and put in so it could have time to start cooling.

Other than the air bubbles I also liked that it was easier to do an extra ounce without guessing on the half scoop. Why they couldn’t make it so one scoop = one oz is beyond me.

Child’s new swim coach splashes her in the face when she isn’t paying attention. It seems to be working. I think l get myself a squirt bottle and train her like a cat.
“Put your shoes in the bin. Put your *splash* shoes in the bin. Thank you.”

Even if you do, reply all, replies to all. Nope. It doesn’t. It does at my job cause my coworker found out the hard way. It didn't show her the blinds but it sent to them cause she hit reply all instead of reply.
This was on Outlook.
I didn't make the shit up.

I only shop once a week but my kids have not learned that scarfing down all the snacks on day two means no more until next week. Or they don’t care. I mean I don't allow free reign on food. Again, I am extra on this.

They sent home a note in C’s folder 4 year old room) requesting no pop in lunches because it gets shook up as the kids swing their lunches around on the way to the lunch room. Why are people sending pop for 4 year olds (R did not get the note in K)??

I didn't want to box myself in the warm milk place or the cold milk place.
I am room temp place.

I used Mylicon drops religiously to combat against air bubbles. I was all for convenience. Especially in the middle of the night.

It would be nice to just pour out of the pitcher and not have to shake and swirl it up. Also I'm pretty sure we send the bottles already made to DC (not 100% sure) and I don't know that they will heat them up. They would have to go in the fridge there since it can only sit out a couple hours once its made. But anyway. I don't see any particular temp of bottle to be better than the other.

I'm currently planning my 3 day Iceland trip in january. I'm getting super excited for it and have convinced myself to rent a car instead of doing group coach tours, because i hate people and coach tours

justbecause our babies are similar in age and I think I’m right there with you. I’m remembering now that age 4-7months sucked so hard with DS1 and it definitely sucks more than the newborn stage with this baby too. JUST GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER BABIES!!!

DS is 5 weeks today and I'm ready for the self soothing stage. When does that happen? Also the 'my arms/hands don't wake me up' less startle response stage. That needs to be soon.

I mean I can’t deal with crying every time I have to put him down! Yep. Mine just screams if I try any form of drowsy but awake. If I get him to sleep then transfer he wakes and screams. Too much screaming. Then screaming because he’s tired. It is exhausting and feels impossible when there are other children too. The baby woke the toddler this morning and now the toddler (who does not nap) is so foul.

The thing that frustrates me most is that I have all these strategies from the sleep consultant from DS1’s sleep challenges but this kid is different and what worked for DS1 either doesn’t work for this one or is too hard to do with another child to look after.

Hopefully happens soon for you. Mine is 5 months and trying to self soothe (sucks thumb when tired but won’t do it when I put him down), DS1 didn’t self soothe until he was much older but I have friends who’s kids self soothed super early. For the startle thing I can strongly recommend the zippadee zip suit. They can roll in it so no need to worry about transitioning out because of rolling.

You have...a while to go. 😬 DD outgrew the startle reflex sooner than DS but they were 4-5 months and I was still swaddling. Especially DS.

My 3 YO called me from daycare to tell me he pooped on the potty for the first time. I saw the name pop up and thought I was being called because he was sick. Super surprised to hear his little voice on the other end. "Mommy I pooped on the potty! Lollipop when I get home?" LOL forever. Kid kills me. J recently did this too when my mom had it. “I pooped on the potty mommy. I have M&M’s?” He started in the preschool room today and is supposed to be potty trained. They took him even though he isn’t but I’m hoping they do it all for me magically by the end of the week.

Diordra I actually have one but haven't wanted to mess with heating the formula up and he won't take it cold. We put water in a bit ahead of time and it gets to room temp. I want to start working him up to colder though. DS has no problem taking it cold but DD is having an issue. I am going to very slowly try to give it to her cooler and cooler.
