We're all well into 2nd tri, no? That summer seemed to drag on forever. I have a feeling the fall will fly by.

Yes yay! I was just telling MH that the first trimester crawled so slowly, but now time is speeding up! I can’t believe I’ll be 18 weeks tomorrow and only 2 weeks until my mid way ultrasound! I can’t wait to feel LO start squirming and kicking. I’m still iffy if I’ve felt him or not.

I'm glad to see that with second trip has come a good appetite and some weight gain...I think about 1.5 lbs over the last two weeks. I'm really hoping it happens steadily. I was happy to learn yesterday that my mom hardly got any stretch marks although she gained and then lost a lot with each of three kids, and her stretch marks were all pale...Mine in life so far always have been and aren't too noticeable... It might sound silly but I've been worried about vain appearances recently since my skin is really unbalanced no matter what I do and now this icky rash. Areolas also getting bigger and darker, it's not like it's a bad look I guess but it feels really uncomfortable to see your appearance change suddenly at 33!! I'm still not feeling connection to the baby so it is hard to say, oh it's all for a good cause. Just trying to not think about it...

sunshiney, pregnancy can do a number on your body, that's for sure. I escaped without any stretch marks, but I got pancake boobs instead :/ Plus hemorrhoids and reduced bladder control. It's OK not to love all the effects of pregnancy!

Aww @amc what time is your appointment? I still get pre-appointment nerves too. It gets so much easier when you feel regular movement.

sunshiney I didn't have any stretch marks until I was pregnant with DS (I was a slooooooow bloomer in my teens/20s), but I acquired quite a few in 3rd tri (stomach, hips, breasts). They're all very, very light now. So even if you do end up with some, they could lighten over time. You're right, though - it is such an adjustment to see so many physical changes in such a short time! @amc Thinking of you! Pre-appointment jitters are no fun. I hope the next couple of hours go quickly.

@amc I was nervous before my last appointment at 17 weeks. It took her only 15 seconds to find his heartbeat but they felt like an eternity. Sending you good thoughts and looking forward to your positive update later

So...last week was quite an adventure. I aspirated some ketchup at dinner the Friday before last, and I ended up with aspiration pneumonia that Sunday. I was in the ER last Monday and had to get a CT scan to confirm. After spending the last week pretty much bedridden and barely able to eat, I am FINALLY feeling almost normal except for a lingering cough and fatigue. I've never been that sick in my life! Careful with your ketchup, ladies!

@amc yay, glad the appointment went well and your levels are in check! CharlieB that sounds awful! Glad you are moving past that, goodness. sunshiney I had PUPPS after my last pregnancy. Oatmeal baths can be really relieving, and I used Grandpa's Pine Tar soap which is awesome stuff. Just be aware if you haven't used it before, it smells like a campfire and is a super dark soap so it's off-putting in appearance and smell but truly does help! Your doctor can give you something too if it becomes really unbearable.

Oh no, I just experienced one of those really awful pregnancy dreams! The worst dream I've probably ever had. Woke up hysterical at 3 am but couldn't bring myself to tell DH about it. Didn't eat anything near bedtime but we did go to sleep without fully resolving a pretty minor argument. I think that's what my brain was processing. Wow pregnancy is really going to make me resolve everything before bed!

Also, I'm 99% sure I felt movement last night. It's so weird to feel it this early on! Last time I had nothing until 21 weeks due to anterior placenta.

sunshiney I feel for you lady. I remember waking up crying from some crazy scary/sad dreams with DD and it was awful. This time around I’ve had some wild vivid dreams but nothing that shook me quite as bad as those I had during my last pregnancy. Hoping it stays that way. Hope you have better dreams tonight! @amc I had a crazy dream about snakes a few weeks ago as well. A blue and orange snake that tried to drag DD and a friends kid away at the beach! Probably one of the most memorable dreams so far this pregnancy. So weird!!

Where is everyone finding the best maternity deals right now? I don’t need a lot since this will be our last and I have some stuff from my last pregnancy but I’d like a couple more tops, a pair of skinny jeans and pair of maternity yoga/lounge pants for pregnancy and postpartum. I believe I saw someone say they found a $3 maternity shirt in the Halloween thread and I’m all about finding the best deal!

cch I found a really cute dressy shirt and some T-shirt’s at target last night for around 12 dollars each! They had some cute jeans but I didn’t have time to try them on. I saw some good deals online at Old Navy yesterday too.

cch I got really lucky and shopped motherhood maternity when all sale was extra 50% off, I got jeans, leggings, and about 5 blouses/sweaters/flannels for around $85! Other than that, I got two tees for under $20 on clearance at Macy's, and a couple non maternity sweater tunics that I think will work great on clearance at a local bonton going out of business sale for like $5 each. With shirts handed down from a friend, I only need to get a couple bras and black leggings to cover me through the end I think. But then I don't have to dress up for work anymore!! I wasn't excited by what old Navy had personally but the prices were great and it might just be my personal style preferences. I looked at Zulily and prices looked like between other brands regular and sale prices, aka too high for me lol! ETA recently I looked at ASOS and they had some really nice stores, of I wasn't already covered I'd probably make a purchase there.
