I have my first OB appointment tomorrow, finally, and I’m getting a bit nervous. I broke out the doppler already today and did find a squirmy baby. I really, really hope they do an US tomorrow but idk what to expect at all. Usually this doctor sees patients at his own office but his admin booked me in to see him at a hospital while he’s on rounds there? So odd. I’m hoping that means he wants to use an US and doesn’t have one in office? Ramblin’ tlex.

Tlex, I also hope you get an ultrasound. I've been spoiled by having easy access to them this pregnancy and I know they ease my mind tremendously. However, it's great the doppler is working for you, because that must help tide you over.

I’m so glad you’ve been getting the reassurance of multiple scans!

Thanks bex15! It totally wasn't on my radar til H suggested it! Now we're struggling to come up with two additional names.

I need to get organized today, I’ve been awful about meal planning recently and need to get back on track. Meal planning? You mean to....cook? You're still doing that? 😜 Jk. But man. I didn't like to cook before, we have been soooooo bad the last few weeks...

I totally get feeling nervous, I'm leaning more and more towards getting a doppler because I get so anxious the week before/of an appointment. I see the high risk dr Thursday and will get an u/s and hate that I feel like I'm already psyching myself up for bad news but I can't push it out of my brain sometimes!

How many weeks are you coming up on? The doppler is my sanity until regular movements. Also forgive me for being a cheesy person at heart but it’s who I am, and here is a little mantra type thing I’ve been reading when I get upset. Maybe helpful to someone!

I've been doing the least with meal planning so good job @bex15! During the week when it's just me and DD, I've just been doing the same rotation of grilled cheese and tomato soup, tacos, chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries, frozen pizza, pasta with premade frozen meatballs, etc. I do make a frozen veggie with each. It's hard for me to get it up to do more right now. And this is from a person who used to Barefoot Contessa everything.
You're doing great!

I made chicken noodle soup in the instant pot. That's about as much cooking as I've done in the last few weeks. I really miss cooking because I love to do it. I'm craving some French onion soup. So maybe I'll do that next. I'm clearly ready for colder weather.

Good luck at your appointment Tlex. Part of me wants to get a Doppler pambee but also I feel like it would make me more anxious if I couldn't find it.

Good luck at your appointment Tlex. Part of me wants to get a Doppler pambee but also I feel like it would make me more anxious if I couldn't find it. I know I have the same dilemma. But I think if I could make myself only use it right before appointments to help that anxiety it might be worth it.

Sorry family.

Haha saaaame and I’m still getting back to cooking again - which feels great - but it’s slow getting there. I feel very proud right now when I manage to throw things on the sheet pan and into the oven. Wow, so fresh, much home cooked.

Props to anyone able to look at or eat poultry. If I even see it, I'm done for. It's like the most revolting thing I can imagine.

There is no cooking happening in my house. Thankfully my kid never eats anything I cook anyways so she hasn’t noticed. I’m definitely just barely surviving.

Turkey for me 😷 ever since pregnancy #1 it’s smelled like hot pennies. Really puts a kink in the holidays!

Thankfully MH does the bulk of the cooking. He's just been getting frustrated because I do not input anything that sounds good.... because literally nothing does. Just cook something and I'll try to force it down. Does food ever start to taste good again?? I feel like I already had cravings when I was pregnant with DD. The only thing last week that sounded good was Thai. And even after I ate it, it was like *shrug*.

I haven't been able to find the HB on my own yet when using the Doppler in the office. So I think it's a good idea that I don't go out and buy my own. I just con my coworker into doing it for me.

I’m in the same boat of do I get a Doppler or not. I think about it constantly but I also worry it could cause more anxiety.
For those that do have one, how often do you use?

He means well, but I keep telling him to make whatever, and if I can eat it, great. If not, that's okay. I feel like I was able to eat regular meals again last time after around 11 weeks (which means I have 2.5 weeks to go.) Here's hoping.

Well my cooking ended up being a fail. I was in such a mood for meatloaf and it smelled so amazing while cooking only to taste awful to me. I ate a bite and threw away, lesson learned. MH liked it at least!

Ugh just last night I told H, at least with E I was ALWAYS up for a baconator from Wendy's 😂 Now nothing sounds good at all and I don't think it's fair to ONLY have aversions, lol.
