How old is your LO?
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going?
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you?
4-8 mo Any teeth or signs of teething? Is it affecting BF?
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going?
9-12mo What’s something BF related that you worried about when pregnant or with a newborn that turned out fine?
Questions/AW?
Gtky: if you could be proficient in any musical instrument, which one would it be?

LO is 7 (almost 8) months. Nursing and pumping at work. No teeth yet. Working is fine but I'm getting tired of pumping and washing bottles and pump parts. 4 more months.
I'm continuing to pump out of guilt and not having to change anything. I'm trying to decide when I can start dropping pump sessions and pulling from the freezer stash without running out before he turns 1 Gtky: piano

How old is your LO? 10.5 months old
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing.
9-12mo What’s something BF related that you worried about when pregnant or with a newborn that turned out fine? I worried about ds2 latching. Ds1 was soooo crappy at latching. Ds2 latched without any issues 🤷
Questions/AW? Any recommendations on transitioning to a sippy cup? Ds2 doesn't take a bottle lol so I've been offering him water in a CamelBak water bottle. But I know you aren't supposed to put anything besides water in those.
Gtky: if you could be proficient in any musical instrument, which one would it be? I played the viola when I was in grade school but the cello would be my choice. It's such a beautiful instrument.

How old is your LO?: 9 weeks Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going?: Nursing, pumping occasionally for freezer stash and for practice for DS3. 0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you?: Mostly using the Boppy during the day and side-lying at night. Gtky: if you could be proficient in any musical instrument, which one would it be?: Probably piano or guitar. grumpycat , you don't necessarily need to use a sippy (they're not great for kids' oral development)- you can go right to a straw cup. i really like the take n toss ones- they're simple to assemble and easy to wash. (that amazon price is inflated- they're usually about $2.75. walmart sells them, too.) flippinchica, are you putting bottles and parts in the dishwasher? everything is dishwasher safe except those little membranes.

vvvvvfee, I put everything in the dishwasher except my freemies because I only have one pair. Still a general pain I'm ready to be done with.

flippinchica, i totally get it, i hate pumping, too. how many sessions are you doing right now? i dropped from 3 to 2 with both kids around 7-8 months and just send solids to replace the 3rd bottle. so if you're still doing 3 i'd definitely drop to 2.

DS is 11.5 weeks.
We're nursing and I'm pumping twice a day (morning and night) because he gets a bottle for his last feeding. He was extremely fussy and crying for food even after I had fed him, which led me to discover that my supply dips very low in the evening. It works for us.
We usually do the cradle hold during the day, and side lying at night or when we're napping.
I played both the piano and saxophone when I was younger, but for some reason I've always liked the idea the violin.

It has been variable depending on how long a day ar work and how much I got from my first 2 pumps. I had to pump on Jury duty last week so that was 'fun'. I did get to go into somebody's office to pump and use the staff fridge so that was interesting. I usually pump on the way to work at lunch and sometimes on the way home. Or if I'm getting done at work by 3 I will just pump both ways driving. I really like using the freemies for pumping while driving.

How old is your LO? 2 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing and pumping only once a day only to give me some relief
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? Boppy and mostly football hold due to c section recovery.
Questions/AW? Right now I’m struggling with engorgement, it can be difficult for baby to comfortably eat. He does a lot of gulping and pulling on and off. Everything I read says this phase is challenging, but all normal. I’m visiting a lactation group on Wednesday and I’m hoping for tips there. Any advice or things that worked for you during this time where my milk is regulating?
Gtky: if you could be proficient in any musical instrument, which one would it be? The guitar

mirabelle yup it's normal I found that self expressing in a hot shower before nursing to be helpful and I used a haakaa silicone collection pump on the side I was not nursing on. It applies a small amount of pressure to collect leakage but was enough to curb some of my engorgement. I tend toward oversupply. You don't want to be pumping too much unless you'll be continuing to do so as your body will start regulating soon. Kelly mom has a lot of good info on a strong letdown too.

How old is your LO? -11mo--5 days from 1 year!
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? -Nursing, pumping still. I was going to wean off the pump last week, then DS got sick and nursed constantly this weekend and it threw me off.
9-12mo What’s something BF related that you worried about when pregnant or with a newborn that turned out fine? -All of it? lol. I was a complete newbie and didn't even know if I'd be able to do it.
Questions/AW?
Gtky: if you could be proficient in any musical instrument, which one would it be? -I played percussion instruments all through school, but was never good at playing a kit. I'd love to be better at that.

Speedy, there's so many growth spurts during the 4th trimester too. DS2 clusterfed for 2-3 hours in the evenings until he was almost 4 months old. I'm glad you've figured out something that works for you guys! gingy, happy early 1st birthday to your LO AND one year of nursing!!

gingy congrats on a year!! mirabelle I would unlatch when letdown started and let the fast flow go into a towel or bottle, then relatch baby when the flow slowed down again. You can do breast compressions during the letdown to get even more milk out quickly so baby can get back to nursing. If too engorged to latch, you can try reverse pressure softening - there are good pictures on that link too. It all gets better with time. Supply will eventually regulate. Baby gets bigger and stronger and better at handling all the milk. Hang in there! kellymom.com/bf/got-milk/supply-worries/fast-letdown

How old is your LO? 14 weeks
Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Mostly just nursing and pumping once a day
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? I mostly do cradle/cross cradle. I haven’t found any other positions she likes.
Questions/AW? Has anyone had very up and down experiences with their pump? I only pump in the morning, just to help maintain a supply and keep a freezer stash but it varies dramatically how much I get each day. One day I’ll get 6 oz after she eats and the next day it’s 2 oz. I don’t think it’s a supply issue because she is gaining well and has plenty of wet diapers.
Gtky: if you could be proficient in any musical instrument, which one would it be? Piano? I’m more of the listening type than playing though.

How old is your LO? 16 weeks or 3.5 months Are you nursing, pumping, supplementing? How’s it going? Nursing and pumping at work Nursing is fine. I'm barely eeking out enough when I pump and it's worrying me. I've only been back two days. And I have almost no freezer stash because I ended up having to go back to work a month earlier than planned. I have formula ready in case she needs it but I never had this issue with my son.
0-3 mo What positions/props are working for you? Cradle and boppy
If you’ve returned to work, how is that transition going? See above. Finding a pumping space one day a week has proved interesting. Today I pumped in the admin secretary's office, my classroom, and an someone's (who I don't know) office. I'm sure once I get more into a routine that it will help.
Questions/AW? What are your tips for increasing supply when pumping? It's not my first go round so I thought I knew what I was doing. I have a new PISA, membranes, and tubing. Maybe I'm just over thinking it.
Gtky: if you could be proficient in any musical instrument, which one would it be? I'm a music teacher so I've got some skills already. I'd love to be better at piano but can pass a proficiency test. Probably cello.

bananas22, i'm sure it's related to how much she nursed overnight. your body gets used to making a certain amount of milk overnight and if LO doesn't drink as much, it's still there in the morning. if DS3 sleeps a lot, i will usually still be pretty full even after he nurses. they can only fit so much in their bellies at once! jessila, this page has lots of great tips: Supply Boostershonestly i think the easiest thing to do is just try to get LO to nurse more at home. do a dream feed if you don't do one already. don't restrict nursing overnight. if you can, nurse LO when you drop them off at daycare. i did that with DS2, and still pumped 3x a day at the beginning. knowing he had a good feed in right before i left took some of the pressure off (and for a while he was only taking 2 of the 3 bottles so i was able to freeze the excess).
