Still nothing. My mind is going to worst case scenario. I’m sure I’ll hear something any time now and feel like a hysterical idiot, but darn.
If I find out they were delayed and he didn’t let me know beforehand, I’m not going to be delighted.

C has cried more tonight then he has in months. First because I yelled at him for kicking the gate on our way out of school. Cue meltdown. Then he fell walking up the stairs and a toy fell on his toe in the shower. He’s clearly overtired and at an 11. I can’t wait for bed time! x2. Both boys are nuts though not worse than yesterday... So, yay? Haha.

We got 3/4 of the basement primed and plan to finish after bedtime. Picked up the kids and went to the hardware store to pick out doors and trim. Now we’re at bww and I need food. Stat. Question for he expert flamingo... what width baseboard and casing do you recommend? Should the casing be narrower than the base or can they be the same? We want 4.25 base and 3.25 casing but they didn’t have the base we want. So we could maybe do 3.25 base, but i don’t want 2.25 casing to go with it, does that make sense? Or we could look around more but would have to take a trip into the cities.

Dh’s plane is finally in the air, but it is almost 2 hours delayed. Apparently the additional delay is because they had to kick drunk people off the plane. I’m all for drinking on a plane, but hold it together people!!!
Is 4:25 too early to put the kids in bed?

Those things are never easy to hear cagoldi but its good that he's getting any help he needs now. So many parents are in denial and refuse help. He's lucky to have you.

They’re on the ground. Just landed. I am exhausted, lol.
They were delayed off the boat til almost 7, were supposed to leave before 3. Ship shut down communication today so he couldn’t get a message out.
ETA: thank you all for suffering through that little exercise with me.

I hope the next consult goes well cagoldi. And keep in mind that it's called "the spectrum" for a reason and perhaps if X is in fact on it, maybe you guys didn't see it because he's on the mild end. Either way, I know that you'll be able to handle it well and X has a lovely supporting family to help him reach his potential. I definitely think it's mild if that turns out to be the case. She said he has a mild speech delay, too. Which I'm not sure about? He is quiet but he's picked up a lot lately and once every blue moon, will pull out a five word sentence and we're like "where did that even come from?" Thank you for your input. I appreciate it. I was feeling kind of shitty like "why didn't I see this? What am I still not seeing?" But maybe it's all a fire drill and it's just SPD, so we'll see. The center he goes to for therapy has a preschool with a crazy long wait list but I'm going to get some information about it. They will do his therapies during his school day if o can get him in and even if it is only SPD, they're probably better suited to deal with that than our current DC.

LO has been in a odd mood. He spent 10 minutes at the king tut exhibit then wanted to leave. He spent more time talking about it. Oh well. E is doing well at DC.

cagoldi I’m sorry that you keep getting more piled on. But I’m glad that it’s getting looked into. I’ve heard that developmental pedi’s can take a long time to get into (like I’ve heard of year + waits). But I hope that’s not the case for you all. Also, that’s awesome to have a day care potential where he gets therapy. They would definitely be well trained to handle that stuff! Living in such a rural area in the middle of nowhere, I don’t have options like that. We have legit considered possible transfers so we could be in an area better suited for S. Right now, we are just seeing how things are going, but are open relocation if we don’t feel S is getting the care and education she needs.

Ok now I’m angry. I asked C to request a night shift on Tuesday so he could come with to lo’s first day of school. I reminded him every week for the last 6 weeks. He just sent me his schedule, he literally starts at school drop off time. He does not work close to the school. He said he forgot. 😞

Happy birthday yummeecookee! Yay for the H’s coming home flamingo and @xoladtunicornxo! MH was supposed to come home today but ended up not being able to. He is restricted to 10 hours of driving a day and 12 hours “working “. He worked about 5 hours before hitting the road for the 10 hour drive. So he had to get a room. I’m not disappointed though 😂. He was kinda an ass to me on the phone earlier today. Then we argued via text for a bit. Then he just called to “check in” with me and acted like none of that even happened. So I’m enjoying my last bit of peace tonight.

Also cagoldi...the special needs board has a bunch of super smart women that know a lot about what your dealing with. So if you have any questions about what to expect or anything really, jump over there and ask away. It’s not super active since we came to this board, but even if you just looked through some of the past posts you may find some helpful info. I’d say 90 percent of the moms on that board are dealing with kiddos on the spectrum.
