It’s almost Labor Day weekend for those of you in the states. Anyone making fun plans for this upcoming weekend?

Ooops! I forgot to respond to my own thread. I think I’m going to take off on Monday to celebrate Labor Day, even though it’s not a holiday here. We are booked with play dates on Saturday and Sunday, so I think Monday will just be a lazy day for DH and I. Maybe we’ll go out to breakfast while DS1 is at school in the morning. We haven’t had an adults only breakfast in forever....yep - I think we’ll do that.
Did anyone else used to love to sleep in on the weekends pre-kids and then go out for an awesome breakfast with your SO? That was a Saturday tradition for DH and I in Chicago...sooo many good brunch places there. Ah memories.

We were supposed to have a pool party at my aunt and uncle’s on labour day Monday but thE weather doesn’t look agreeable 😔 We do have a busy weekend though: Friday I have a pedi (with DD, my mom, and sister) and haircut and DH has a bachelor party in the evening. Saturday we are going to my parents house for brunch. Sunday is church and then DH has a fantasy football draft. Monday is the pool party and then DH has a hockey ticket “draft” (splitting up the nhl season seats we share with a couple friends). Busy busy busy!!!

Taitai We used to go to this amazing restaurant on the water in the summer. Cesar’s and fancy food in a chill setting. They had these amazing huevos rancheros which were exactly what is needed after a night out. That is so not my life now.

The baby and I have a cold and she is teething so things have been a bit rough. Not too bad but along with missing brunches the other thing I miss as a mother is being able to relax when I’m sick.
As far as weekend plans, I’m going to see a movie with my mom and drink some rose. Maybe at the same time.

We used to love finding little mom and pop diners and having breakfast there. We've done it with DS1, but it is....not the same. It was raining cats and dogs this morning. Today me was glad last spring me was lazy and left the boys' jackets in the back of the van. LO was up before 5. DS1 was pumped to wear his rain boots. Traffic was horrible and I felt like I'd worked a full day by the time I got to work.

Sleeping in and going out for breakfast sounds like something out of a dream. I did actually get decent sleep last night. The baby was only up once, and DS1 actually slept all night. He woke up and promptly wet the bed, but at least i was fairly rested to deal with it.

DS is teething and is a miserable mess. He woke up at 3 so I figured that would just be his motn feeding and went in there. But then he woke up at 5:50 😬

I am used to DS waking anytime from 4-5:30, eating, and going back down until 7. I was good with that. It also made naps at the perfect time for DD’s preschool drop off and pick up. Thankfully she doesn’t start until sept 10 so hopefully by then we will be back on track

I woke up this morning to find my pumped milk from last night sitting on the counter. FFThC? I smelled it and it had no odor so I chilled it for a later bottle. It may have been inside the “6 hour window” but I’m not entirely sure.

I'd like to not be a slave to 2x wake ups a night for... ever. She's a nighttime habit feeder, so if I start caving it will be an every night thing instead of a 2-3x a week thing.

My naptime project today PDQ My kid has a lot of hair bows 😬 DH made this for me when we were dating (so like 7-8 years ago), I used it to keep track of important papers/pictures/notes etc but I haven’t used it in years. Seemed like the perfect way to repurpose it since DD’s hairbow situation was getting a little out of control

I just read a review for Ryan Gosling’s new movie - “First Man.” It’s a docudrama about Niel Armstrong and it’s supposed to be fantastic and an Oscar favorite. I think that will be the next date night movie for DH and I. One of our relatives actually worked as an engineer at NASA on the Gemini and early Apollo missions, so we kind of love seeing movies about this time in America’s history.

That's much better than when hubs forgets the settings on the espresso machine and spews coffee grounds all over the kitchen, I even found grounds in the outlet! SaveSave

I am the odd one. Pre kids hubs and I were up super early and were out the door on our bikes around 6. Back around 9 and we'd make breakfast at home. Sometimes we'd go on a hike after lol! We rarely go out for meals...there just aren't any places worth their salt anywhere near us and we're too lazy to drive all the way into the city just to eat. We do that for special occasions though. Anyway lil fella barely napped today. He's been pooping himself and disrupting his naps practically all the time. He's also fast and getting into evertyhting and crawling everywhere I have to keep my eyes on him all day long! I can hardly get anythhing done during the day and cramming everything in the evening after both baby and DS goes to bed. I feel bad putting him in the PNP since he's moving and just loves it. Anyways I think hubs and I are just going to spend the Monday hanging out with the kids and catching up on things around the house after my sister's visit. What can I say we're boring.
