Navigation Question

On desktop when you however at the top you get a drop down menu thing of all the boards and you can hop around that way. Just an FYI.

Back to Threads button still doesn't work for me in Firefox, it works fine in Chrome. Love the pinned thread nav at the top. I like the left nav panel, but I have a widescreen so...

Yes, the dropdown menu was always there.

I've added the sidebar just so we can take a look. It can be turned off with one (admin) click, so don't be scared, @blanche

anarossi, if you're looking for opinions, I'm not liking the sidebar. It's more narrow, which is nice, but then the board titles break onto separate lines and it looks funny to me.

I fixed that. Unless we employ a few more acronyms, it's unfortunately going to have to be a bit wider to accommodate the titles. 

I'm with PPs, I really don't use the sidebar... I stick mainly to the dropdown navigation. But it also sounds like more than a few people weren't/aren't aware of that feature! So there's a learning curve no matter which way we go.

I could really go either way with the sidebar. I DID use it, but I started getting used to/liking the full screen look. I don't mind changing my ways.

The drop down was there, but it only takes you to the previous or next thread.  I didn't see a way to get back to the list, which is what was looking for.  That is why I asked the original question thinking that I was missing something.  I guess I am picky when it comes to navigating.

I wonder if there's an add-on to either make it optional, or make it slide off to the left so you could just pull it out when you want it.

Can you explain to me how it worked? I didn't visit SM enough times to check it out. Was it a list of threads in a little sidebar box? Or a link from the main menu bar, that brought you to a page of all the recently updated threads?

You can collapse the board navigation but the title stays there so you still don't get wide page.

That's exactly what I was looking to do, but it's not looking like it's going to work. As of right now, you can click the top (where it says "Board Navigation") and the menu folds up, but you don't get the screen real estate back. Sad trombone.
